We got a room last minute at busy time. Food was decent & places clean.
Breakfast would have been nice. V busy pub & v busy roads = noise far into the night. Bed comfy but room very cramped. V steep & narrow stairs are not for those who are larger or have mobility problems.

The location was excellent set just at the top of the high street. The staff were fabulous and very friendly and helpful.
No parking but there is a chargeable car park just around the corner.

It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They do warn you about the stairs which can be tricky but they are in line with the character of the building and caused us a lot of amusement. It was very worth the money. Very central and although there is no parking, there is a car park pretty much opposite so was no problem.
If I had to be really picky, I would say the toilet chain could have been longer

REALLY friendly landlord and staff, nothing too much trouble. Nice pub downstairs room comfortable.
As over 60/70 respectively, we found the stairs a little difficult, but we knew something of this upon booking. Its a quaint old building, do to be expected.

although on a busy roundabout it relatively quiet and a lovely location. Staff very friendly and breakfast was lovely. We also had an evening meal there and the food was good.
Stairs to the rooms are steep as it’s an old building so not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. it’s not staffed after closing time which would be an issue for some.

Great central location, close to public transport and main attractions in town. Friendly and professional staff. We enjoyed dinner while listening to live music and a good breakfast selection.

The overall vibe was really nice. Also it was an inn and the food was fantastic and great value for money
This is very very minor but it's why I can't give the staff 100%. When we went to check in our initial call was missed. This didn't matter to us, but it's the only criticism I have

The staff were actually amazing. I got covid on the date of my original booking and they changed it no problem.
Food and indie music in the pub was lovely

It should be specified at Booking.com that there is no manned check-in desk at this "hotel" after 9pm. My train was over an hour late and I tried phoning Reception at least 10 times that evening to notify them of my late arrival - no reply anytime, just went direct to voice mail. I had received an email that morning detailing the keylock access code, and giving me directions to the room etc. but as I was travelling alone I did not want to risk arriving at an empty building with no staff on site at 11pm! I was obliged to book another hotel for the night. I did send mails direct to management and was promised a refund - nothing has arrived.

Great location. Characterful and well-lit room. Clean. Strong wifi.
Noise from the road outside (old building so only single-glazing allowed). The mattress was somewhat springy and could do with a replacement. The bedside light didn't work (bulb probably).

The stay itself is very lovely. The room was great, bathroom clean and modern!
The location is perfect for being in the city and parking close by. The pub underneath was a great bonus for us when we needed somewhere to shelter from the rain and watch the world cup final :)
Only things they couldn't really control - we had a long blackout from around 9pm with no signs of electricity coming back for a long time. But they did supply extra blankets incase it got cold. Also people arguing SO loudly, like screaming and banging doors etc, which lead to an alarm going off at about 2am. Not sure what that was about..

Lovely room, everything was clean and the staff were nice.

The location was great for the registry office wedding across the street. The staff were friendly and the building was great.
The room was VERY hot and both the hot and cold taps ran hot so we couldn't use the kettle. It was a lovely place full of character but the bathroom could have been better if the linescale had been removed from the taps etc.
We were going to order breakfast but forgot to ask while checking in. In the morning, there was no one about to ask as it was self checkout.

Great location, room was ok
It’s a bit grubby, but we expected this from the reviews and the price
