Very quiet and original dwellings in a wonderful natural surrounding. Friendly staff. Lots of space.
The house we rented was described as a cottage, but we would rather call it a bungalow or dug-in house. The furniture and decoration lacked a bit of inspiration.

Situated in a calm place. It is great for kids of all ages. Nice restaurant with good dishes and friednly staff! Overall a nice stay of 3 nights

Quiet location in the forest with outdoor seating and nice views. The accommodation was quite spacious and fine for four people.
The kitchen was not very well equipped but ok for our one night stay.

The accommodation is all unique, we stayed in a tree house but upon arrival it all looked special. The location is stunning and peaceful.
Limited activities for teenagers and adults but the site looks like a work in progress. I’m sure in time there looks like they’ll have a club house and the green fenced off ‘lake’ would be great for paddling or paddle boarding!

We only stayed one night as a stop-gap to the Eurotunnel. We could have happily stayed for longer. The property was clean, comfortable and had adequate facilities to self-cater. However, we booked dinner at the restaurant (excellent staff, good food), so did not try that option.
We did not stay long enough to form any negative opinions, not that I think we would have made any - everyone we met was lovely! It was a shame we had to shorten our visit due to a family emergency. We had originally booked to stay four nights, with another family renting another cabin.

We arrived late and left early, but this was fine with the site and easy to do with good communication
The onsite facilities were limited on the days of our stay as the restaurant and bar do not open every day. We were aware of this in advance so self catering was always on the cards.

It was really nice to stay in this small wooden cabin house for 3 nights as a family of 3 (with my 4 year old daughter). It's sort of a tiny house for camping in a forest but with all amenities, like running hot water, full bathroom with shower and toilet and were given enough towels and bedsheets, etc. The kitchen while basic was also enough for our short stay. It also had a coffee maker and a kettle that was handy. There were 2 separate bedrooms which was great for our small family. The restaurant on the site was surprisingly quite a decent one (don't expect too much veggie options though). There were nice playgrounds and zip line activities on site for children of all ages.
The house had nice large patio doors but unfortunately didn't have insect/mosquito net. It would be a great addition to this house because otherwise we couldn't keep the door open for fresh air (flies would come in right away).

The treehouses are an amazing place to stay with children. I booked it at a surprise and we all loved it. Being in the treetops is so peaceful! We lay in bed listening to owls. It is magical. The location itself is good too. There are places for the children to play and we explored and found a lovely small lake to walk around. We didn’t do the high ropes course as my daughter was too young and there is no instructor on it, which put my nine year old son off. Great for older kids though.
For the most part, it is clean. The bedding is spotless and all the surfaces had been cleaned and the fridge and microwave were clean. However, there were some deeper clean things that were missed. All round the plug in the sink was dirty, the drainer for the dishes and tray underneath weren’t very clean and the floors were swept but, not washed. Also, take your own towels! We were given threadbare towels and one had a bleach stain on it. These were minor things and in no way spoiled our stay but, just to mention.

The cottage (Charbonnier) is in a beautiful spot, in the middle of a forest. The cottage has a picknick table right outside, from where you can enjoy the lovely view while dining al fresco. There is a treeclimbing parcours and zipline on site. Very conveniently located for visits to the coast, but there is plenty to do in the vicinity as well. There are various walking trails starting at the nearby lake and chateau.
We did not know at first that the cottage we rented was not a tree hut, as the info provided through Bookings is not very clear on this. The charbonnier C1 is a more like a half-subterranean wildlife observation hut. The interior is fairly spartan, rather like a youth hostel. The beds were too small for an average sized northern European (1.80m long, 1.20 wide double bed), mattress was very thin and resting on a creaky plywood base. I ended up sleeping on the sofa in the main living area. Two lights were not functioning, we asked for them to be replaced. But the otherwise friendly staff seemed mostly rather bewildered and overwhelmed, and was unable to comply with the simplest requests. So they did not manage to repair this during the 5 days we stayed. (Only one lady at the reception spoke good English, our French is rather basic so we had to make do with Google Translate). There was insufficient and ill-matching crockery and cutlery (e.g. 2 normal knives, 2 stake knives). We asked for a frying pan,
a barbecue appeared after two days, but it was then removed again in the evening (??) We ended up buying a frying pan ourselves, along with some mugs and plastic lemonade glasses, in the Action shop in Vire. No TV available (which we knew anyway) and WiFi availability is extremely hit and miss! I specifically asked beforehand, and was assured that WiFi was available in the cottage itself. But when we complained onsite about the poor WiFi quality, we were told that it was because of all the trees (??). We paid 143 p.n. for 3 people. This may seem a fair price in August, but by comparison: we spent the other half of our holiday in a lovely, comfortable apartment in the centre of Bayeux (Le4, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), which was fully equiped (box spring beds, tv, dvd, wifi and a dishwasher) - and only cost 9 EUR a night more. So although we enjoyed our stay, I wish I'd opted for La Bannerie instead - it is only a couple of kilometers down the road.

The location
The breakfast was not good... We came around 10 o clock and there was nothing to eat.... Very basic.... You can better do breakfast yourself... There is a shop Carrefour very close by..
And on Monday everything you can do in the park is closed...

Great staff, very friendly and accomodating. We had a problem with the booking.com reservation which was very different from the the bungalow we were thinking renting, and they did their best to understand and compensate the frustration.
The place is fantastic and the facilities are really nice.
I REALLY DID NOT LIKE THE BOOKING.COM CONTRIBUTION. I am very frustrated at Booking.com, don't book through booking.com, go direct to the website or call!
Indeed we were thinking of renting a bungalow in the trees but we ended up in the only ground level bungalow which is aimed for handicap access. Kids were very frustrated, especially as we had a great view on all these bungalows un in the air, and also we could enjoy people looking with curiosity into our bungalow through the window as they were passing by. Really disappointing. Luckily the staff understood and did their best to heal the frustration.

We had a lovely time here, we stopped by for a few days on the way to the ferry from a camping trip further south. such a unique set up, the new owner Marc was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Really loved that apart from loading, cars were not allowed on site, I have small children who like to scoot about on bikes, this made the stay less stressful. Lovely playgrounds and we had a takeaway of local cuisine from the restaurant in our cabin which was lovely. The steps in our cabin were steep, my youngest at 3 years was fine, but if travelling with younger children another style of cabin may be more suitable. I also think that this set up would be amazing for families with slightly older children as their seemed to be tree climbing activities (similar to go ape) that they would love. The cabin was beautifully designed and had huge windows looking out to the forest.

Something a little different in a nice area.
Tree climbing on site (additional cost of around 15€ each)
Checkin staff were ok but seemed a little distant at times.
