The breakfast was excellent. We thought the evening meals were expensive so chose to eat in nearby Stow. The bed was comfy, good shower and love decor.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Beautiful village location, easy to park and a convenient garden for the dogs. Elegant room, nice welcome basket and tea/coffee facilities. Nice pub with very nice evening restaurant. Dinner was delicious.
Bathroom bin was broken, water pressure in the bathroom was low, pillows were hard and thin. Noisy extractor from pub kitchen outside the window, and green emergency exit light very bright right in eyeshot when sleeping. Paid £40 on arrival for 2 dogs for 2 nights but wasn’t given anything for this on the first night. When we asked for some bowls at breakfast they realized we had been forgotten & we were provided with bowls and towel and dog welcome pack the next day (note there was a bed as well which we didn’t need - the lady who arranges was off and the others forgot). Breakfast was ok, food better the first day than the second (second day the bacon was hard and the croissants were burnt and had to be sent back, even though we were on time), timings were very strict and we felt told off when we were 15 mins late on the first morning (apparently they were waiting to wash down the kitchen).

Loved the location, and staff are exceptional.
Rooms are a little small. The twin room is, in reality, a single room. Bit cramped.

dinner was really good
breakfast could have been more interesting

It was a good location for walking and exploring the area. Close to Stow, and wasn’t too busy. The pub has character, plenty of parking, very good food and very dog friendly. The owners have provided details of local walks from the pub, tried and tested. Having a residents only lounge is an extra that not a lot of places offer.
The staff were friendly attentive. We would like to thank the house keeper Tracy, how goes the extra mile especially at breakfast we’re nothing is too much trouble.

The location was excellent. The staff couldn't do more for you. The food was lovely.
The accommodation was comfortable albeit a little small in the annexe. The downstairs was fine but noisy because of the guests upstairs.

Staff were all helpful, cheerful and polite. The rooms were clean and kept tidy and freshened up. Food, both breakfasts and evening meal were excellent. The location is great too.

A lovely place to stay, in a pretty village which is very nicely located for sightseeing. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. They gave lots of useful information regarding the local area and nothing was too much trouble. My dog was very well catered for, a bed, food bowls etc in our room, and was welcomed in the restaurant for dinner/breakfast. There is a large carpark and a small garden with a stream and plenty of tables.
There is nothing that would stop me returning. If anything my room was next to the entrance of the carpark/store room. There were some very early morning deliveries, so you could hear these. Some parts of the building looked a bit tired.

Lovely old pub. Plenty of character. Owners and staff were friendly, polite and helpful.
Food and drinks were top notch.
Would recommend to anyone.

Breakfast was great, just needed choice of fruits and yogurt and the evening menu could have a lot more choices other than fish or burgers. Pasta would have been a nice option instead of just the kids option.
Welcome basket and tea and coffee facilities was very good.
The bill was very confusing on check out and not very clear. As we had to contact the owner as they were not on site on check out to clarify the way the bill was set out.

Friendly staff and local produce.

Excellent breakfast and service by Tracy and Max. Evening meal also excellent!
We weren’t informed that there was a service change which was added to our final bill. When I booked the hotel there was no mention of a service charge nor were informed by staff on arrival at the hotel. The charge added a further £27 to the bill that I was not expecting, this should have been made clear when booking and when arriving at the hotel.

lovely people, beautiful place and great location.
it was quite loud in the evening, as the rooms are above the bar area.

Breakfast and dinner were both excellent accompanied by good range of cocktails and wine at reasonable prices.
Shower operation a little complicated and noise from extractor fan outside that kicked in and out all through the night was a disturbance.

Everything - Great place, friendly staff and great breakfast.
We didn't have a car and didn't realize that we were far away from the town center. We'll plan accordingly next visit.

Location and food
Sky light in the room had no blind on so when it was light it woke you up early.

Location is in small quiet village on outskirts of Stow. We have more privacy and peaceful atmosphere as our room is on second floor of the cottage detached from the pub building.
The door of shower cubicle does not close properly or there is problem with the sealant. There is traces of water leak on the floor. The wifi signal in our room is poor.
3.5
The room was lovely, but the stairs to the upstairs bathroom was unsuitable for less mobile and not dog friendly. The bathroom itself was fine. The breakfast was lovely and the extras in the room were a very nice touch. Reasonable location and free parking.
Our evening meal was a disaster. My wife's meal was very poor and mine was not good either. This was our anniversary meal and we didn't pay and went elsewhere. The management apologised and offered another choice, but we went elsewhere. Stairs to bathroom were very steep.12.5% gratuity added to bill unless challenged.

it is a beautiful property, the pub and restaurant are exceptional, the staff was great as well.
The remote location however beautiful and serene is extremely hard to navigate without a car. there are no taxi services or Uber drivers available. The nearest town with shopping or services is two miles away, making sightseeing difficult. We were able to walk the two miles to and from town to catch a bus, however if walking at least 4 to 9 miles a day is not your plan make sure to rent a car.
