Lovely family, amazing breakfast, cleaning could improve

The family was so nice and breakfast was amazing, best included breakfast I've had in a hostel in a long time!

The room at the beginning was not so clean, specially the bathroom, I had to ask for a double check and after that they did cleaned better

Absolutely recommendable !

Absolutely fantastic and helpful family who runs this homestay. Shady bungalows with big windows. Calm, no barking dogs or loud chicken. Wonderful breakfast and the privat little terrace. Comfy bed on the terrace for afternoon sleep. Close to the ocean. All perfect.

The bathroom is a bit difficult as shower in the toilet. Absolutely no hangers or place to store your clothes which could be difficult when staying longer.

Wayan and Agus are kind, professional, and understanding. The room was clean, the breakfast delicious, and the energy of aloha felt. Mahalos.

Absolutely loved this place. Great price and friendly atmosphere in a prime location.

Owners are very sweet. Rooms were great with bug nets on all the beds. Breakfast was delicious.

Nothing! Shower doesn’t have warm water but that wasn’t an issue for us :)

The area is nice, so close to the beach, like 5 min walk. A lot of restaurants too. The room is big. The personnal are kind and the free breakfast is good

Superb

Very friendly hosts add to the charm of Surya Homestay. Good breakfast choice offered. Handy to beach and local Warungs. Hosts have a handy small shop onsite.

Best homestay near Balian beach. I had a small problem with the door in my room, but they immediately offered me another and bigger room. They treat you like family. The breakfast is excellent. They make you amazing dinner if you ask for a very cheap price. They also have a small shop so you do not need to travel to buy your groceries. They have laundary services for a cheap price. Great stay. Wayan and her husband and sons are very honest and good people. I loved every minute of my stay with them. If I can to visit Balian beach again, I will only stay in this homestay.

It would be great if they had hot water for shower.

Highly recommended!

We had the pleasure of staying with Surya Homestay for one week and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The family welcomed us with open arms and made sure that we felt at home right away. The garden was especially beautiful, with a wide variety of plants and trees.

Sweet host and peaceful place

The garden super tropical, and the host were both super nice and happy to help us and create a familiar relationship

The room was not very clean,and the Position was a bit far from everything

The owners are very kind and nice. Awesome breakfast. Their garden is very beautiful, feels a bit like living in a jungle. 3mins walking to the Beach. Can definetly recommend the Surya Homestay!

Peace and comfort, home away from home.

Peaceful and secluded location...4 minute stroll to the beach. There was a store on the property to buy essentials. Breakfast was generous and yummy. The rooms were spacious and had their own bathroom. A lovely patio with a day bed overlooked the tropical garden. Rooms were cleaned daily.The best part of my stay were the wonderful and caring owners. Wayan went over and above to look after me. I will be bringing my family back for sure!

Great staff

Cheap, very green and great location only 200m from the beach and 100m from yoga studio! Furthermore, my partner fell sick the morning of the day we were to check in and decided to move on to our next accomodation (see below). We weren’t forced to pay our full 2 day booking due to circumstances and was helped with transport and medication!

Open ceiling makes it hard to keep room cool with aircon. Not really an issue unless sick or picky as room probably only gets down to low 20deg.
