The hosts are an amazing couple, are extremely warm and helpful. They take care of the guest needs and pay attention to every single detail to make the stay comfortable and memorable. As a female travelling alone, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The location, setting and the property. It was very quite and serene and exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast, specially on first day (buckwheat roti with Ghunghni) was excellent. The hosts were always there for help and we had some nice chat with them. Overall excellent stay.
I was charged 18% GST on the bill amount while checkout. When I inquired, I was told that this is charged by booking.com and not the property. That didn't make sense to me. I hope the tax paid reaches the government.

very comfortable, beautifully decorated and tranquil

Amazing hosts, great food, nice clean big rooms.
Location is a bit far off..which is not really a bad thing in itself...however lack of a nice view and warm weather kind of took away from the feel of the hills. I am still not sure whether the unexpected power cut through the entire duration of our stay was a boon or a curse.

The best thing about the property - the hosts. Kabir and Ahona, the young couple who run this immaculate property, are gracious, friendly, and kind. Evenings spent chatting with them are some of my favourite memories from this trip.
The property itself is charming - wake up to the cacophony (the good kind) of birds, spend the day amidst nature with Scruffy, the resident dog that is as friendly as anyone else in the property, get overstuffed by delicious Nepalese food, cooked under Ahona’s supervision, gaze at the mist sweeping in from the mountains as you exchange stories with the hosts who seem like friends you’ve known forever, and go to sleep counting fireflies.
If you want some action in between, Kabir can organise hikes in nearby trails.
No TV, no internet - this is the place to unwind and connect with self.
Clean, spacious and run perfectly by Kabir & Ahona, Palighar is a haven for nature lovers and intrepid travellers.
I am already looking at the next dates when I can come down again.

Very close to nature

The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The ambiance was serene. I enjoyed the quietness of the surrounding. Sipping a hot cup of tea sitting under the sun was a true luxury for us. The hosts were superb and very warm towards any need of the visitors. Special thanks to the young couple Ahana and Kabir. We enjoyed their company. The food was good. The farmhouse staff Sanjay was very well behaved and was always at service. We could easily arrange local taxis from the neighbouring village with the help of the hosts.
The loud music played in the neighbouring village was breaking the silence and disturbing at times during the day. However, that was not in control of the host. The approach road to the farmhouse is very rough and hopefully, the local administration will look into this.

Palighar has for us been more than a farmstay. It has been an experience unlike any other. The property is situated at a distance of around 8 kilometers from the city of Kalimpong and in the midst of farming communities in Lower Ecchey. Ahana and Kabir have painstakingly created an extremely comfortable farmstay in the countryside.
Ahana’s expertise in whipping up authentic nepali and bhutanese cuisine, especially by using the ingredients grown on their farm is a testament to the quality of food as well as being true to the oft-quoted term of being ‘farm-to-table’.
The farmstay, we believe, also held our appeal because of our personal individual interests in experiencing living in the actual countryside, away from the din of the cities and towns. That being said, the approach road to the farmstay [for the last 100 meters or so] is bumpy and unpaved, however that should not take away from the comfort and the lovely food that the farmstay does provide.
We also decided to take a hike down to the Relli river. Kabir’s affable nature throughout the hike and his insight into the people of Kalimpong and its surrounding villages was extremely informative and left us with a wonderful experience from the trip.
Our experience at Palighar can be summed up with a simple conclusion, we stayed and experienced a part of Kalimpong, as one would, if they had stayed with family and friends.
Lastly, we would also like to thank Sanjay Dai for his magnanimous smile and helpful nature in working alongside Ahana in serving us delicious meals throughout our stay at Palighar.

Awesome property with awesome hosts. Loved every bit of our stay. Everything was perfect, the location, the peace and quiet, food, comfortable room with amazing view and daily hikes in the nature and to the relli river. We would definitely go back for more. Oh and we spotted the Great Indian Hornbill too - 5 of them.

Kabir and Ahana are absolutely the best hosts you can find. They were incredibly hospitable and made us feel right at home.
The fresh food, the jam made by Ahana, the traditional thali and everything else was perfect.
They also have the best reccomendations when it comes to food in the city so, do trust them!
Great conversation, great food, and stunning views of the hills from the farm make this absolutely worth it!

Very good breakfast. Different breakfast every day. Included in the paid amount. Lunch, dinner at extremely reasonable rate. If you want Nepali thali it will be expensive, but that is to be expected. They have a limited menu, for this is not a hotel with a big kitchen. But all items were very well cooked. Very cordial behaviour. They follow all the Covid protocols, and expect guests to do the same. But please do keep in mind that this is a farm house with two rooms for homestay, not a city based top end hotel. Nice view of valley and farm. Cars available if you request with a bit of time in hand, as the place is about half an hour from Kalimpong.

It was perfect! Quiet, on the outskirts, a farm view, extremely hospitable hosts and staff, especially Sanjay! The food was delicious, local, creative and cooked with so much love. All our needs were taken care of! The beautiful walk to the stream below, just interacting with the hosts, finding company but still having privacy - what a great combination. It was a rural luxury we lived at! Ahana and Kabir are soulful people and know exactly how to host you!

PaliGhar is awesome! layed back yet professional, the setting is so peaceful, rooms are very comfortable, large and clean, I loved the traditional building style and attention to detail. The food is great and host are full of knowledge about the area. We went hiking down to the valley river and it was well worth doing, was great to be amongst nature and clean water, along with all that nature it was also great to learn so much about the local culture and history, the host make you feel very welcome and at home and nothing seemed a hassle.

The ambiance is great and the structures fit the bucolic setting perfectly making it a perfect farm stay. The hosts are wonderful and give the guests personal attention. A member of the family is always available at the property to ensure you have a comfortable stay. They are very knowledgeable and well respected in the locality making it possible for them to arrange almost any activity while exploring the surrounding area.
The food is simple but tasty made with fresh local produce.
The approach road for the last few hundred metres is a bit rough but it's a farm stay and the road is a farm road.
