About this house rental
The Stables is an eye catching conversion which was originally the stable block of the Dower House of Rheda Mansion. It is incredibly spacious and offers four generous bedrooms, with three bathrooms offering generously accommodation for eight people. There is an enclosed back garden with a bbq, table and chairs, perfect for those outside meals. We can provide, by special arrangement and extra charge, a deluxe folding bed which can be placed downstairs, perfect for a guest with limited mobility. Upstairs there is a hallway area with two cots for babies and a changing table, a massive kitchen/diner/snug, an office/toy room and a large sitting room. It is perfect for families, children, teens and/or grandparents or a simple holiday for two. We welcome dogs. Our minimum stay is three nights. Please contact us for more details.
The Stables is ideally situated to explore the Western lakes; Ennerdale, Buttermere & Keswick, Scarfell Pike and Wastwater are not far, Whitehaven 4 miles, Cockermouth 10 miles plus the beach is less than 5 miles. This area is not as hectically busy as the more popular Lake District and offers lakes, mountains and sea, all without the crowds.

Great well equipped home from home!
We had a fantastic stay at The Stables. Communication was very prompt and everything was as we expected. Living areas are huge and great for a group, everyone had lots of space. The property is convenient for the mountains of the Lake District (45 minutes to Wasdale Head), and very near the coast (St. Bees beach 15 minutes). Highly recommended!

Wonderful break at the Stables
We were a party of 8 - 4 adults and 4 children. The property has been very well renovated and has everything you need. There was lots to do in the area - day trips to the beach and Keswick. Ennerdale was also amazing and peaceful. Would definitely recommend if in need of somewhere to switch off and relax.

The Stables has been renovated in impeccably . It is spacious and luxurious.
The property is gorgeous and plenty of room for our family of five. It was spotless and everything was top quality. Frizington is small and quite plain although the fish and chip shop is great. White Haven is about 5 miles away on the harbour, very pretty and lots of great restaurants. Cockermouth is close by and again picturesque. The home to Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian, same era! The local lake is Ennerdale. About 3 miles away and just beautiful. It was quiet for which we were grateful. We loved the peace and quiet of this area and were amazed at the hoards of people at lake Windermere. Sally has been great and charming. We would return in a heartbeat

Fabulous house
The property is spacious and superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen in particular has every implement and a plentiful supply of crockery, glassware, and a large fridge and cooker. The place was spotless and the bottle of wine on arrival was a welcome touch. The family enjoyed gathering here and it is a very child friendly home with toys that our grandchildren loved. Thank you for such welcoming hospitality.
