We stayed at the Manor to celebrate my wife’s birthday at Chapter One restaurant which is a 10 minute drive away. We were in two minds whether to drive or get a cab but decided to drive and have a few drinks when we got back having been told that the bar would be open until 11pm. we arrived back around 9:50 only to find the bar was closed. We appreciate that there was a wedding on but it did spoil our night a little and somewhat defeated the main reason we stayed here in the first place (we only live a 30 minute drive away but obviously wasn’t going to drink and drive).

if you carry big suitcase, there is no elevator, which was okey for me. the bed is bit small ( short ).

lovey place for special date

I lied the location , though the traffic first thing in the morning was very high. did not realise it was next to a school Great food and the staff were lovely , really accommodating, thank you. . the room was nice , good decor and facilities.

the bathroom did need a touch up and the shower need a bigger head and more effective shower screen.

Enjoyable.

The breakfast was good, the staff friendly and helpful.

The water pressure from the over bath shower was rather weak. As the bath was high it would have been helpful to have a grab handle. The cupboard space was not high enough or deep enough for clothes.

The room was very very cold. Radiator was barely warm. Only 4 tiny milk cartons. Tv was very bad reception.

Disappointing

Unfriendly staff finally met me and were unable to let tell me where my room was located! Room number 7 so had to carry my bags up and check each floor! Didn't see anyone at my departure and finally decided to ring the bell where I was finally greeted by someone that clearly I was bothering as I asked her if I needed to sign something or where to leave the key! Unclear, unfriendly staff won't be going back!

overall we had a pleasant stay

staff specifically Lewis at reception was a complete gentleman and extremely helpful.

The setting and location are lovely, and the communal areas were in beautiful condition.

The room was tired and the bathroom even more so with a poor water pressure that kept going hot/col, hole in the ceiling where there fan was and dark grouting. All usable just rather tired and in need of an update.

Pleasant and easy

Great location for our stay and the grounds were very pleasant which was a nice surprise. Lovely reception and bar staff, very helpful.

Was very warm in the room could do with some air conditioning or a fan, room was a little on the small side. There also wasnt a lift which could be problematic for some guests.
