About this house rental
We would be happy to welcome you to our recently converted timber framed building (once a pig shed!) with modern furnishing, wooden floors and high ceilings. 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. Fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, Freeview TV, walk-in shower. Peaceful Kentish countryside location, set in half an acre of garden, 1 mile from Tenterden. Suitable for weekend getaways, family holidays and also an ideal venue for small business meetings.
Pickle Cottage was once the "Pig Shed" for the farm and we have now renovated it to provide modern and spacious accommodation to suit 4 people. An additional bed can be provided on request for small additional fee.
The living/dining area is open plan and therefore large enough for small business meetings for 6-8 people during the day.
The owners, Guy and Clare, will be delighted to meet you and to help you discover the local area.

My wife and I have stayed in many holiday cottages in the UK over multiple years, and this was one of the best. The cottage is spacious with comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen was fully equipped for our daily breakfast and dinner preparations and the property grounds are beautiful and quiet. The location is very convenient for visiting local attractions, including Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Bodium Castle and Scotney Castle. The hosts were friendly and always available and helpful when needed.

The house was very nicely decorated and clean. We really liked the equipment such as kitchen utensils, kitchen appliances and towels in the bathroom. The beds were fantastically comfortable. Clare and Guy are really lovely hosts. Our kids loved the cute dog Kate and the pond with the fish.

After 7 weeks on the road travelling around the UK, our stay in Pickle Cottage gave us a wonderful, peaceful break. We came to visit the gardens of Kent and found ourselves living in one right there. It was close to the lovely town of Tenterden and also central to access other well know sights in the area. The cottage is beautifully set up with everything we needed. We thoroughly recommend this property.

Beautiful and very clean house. All facilities were there. Beautiful, nice and quiet surroundings.
We enjoyed the visits of your lovely dog every day and we miss her. Hope she likes the play balls we left for her.

We enjoyed our short stay after our long haul flight. The cottage had everything we could need, cosy and warm, set in beautiful grounds including a pond with a pontoon to sit and enjoy a drink. Close to the shops in Tenterden, the coast and National Trust properties. Wish we could have stayed longer.

If you like a peaceful setting this is the place to be for a relaxing holiday. It is also an ideal location to visit for many of the lovely towns and historical places that are on offer in Kent.

No pigs to be seen but “Kate” was a great replacement ( the pooch)

Idyllic spot
We had excellent communication with our hosts, Clare and Guy. The location of Pickle Cottage is in the grounds of Haynes farm and has the benefit of its own garden but guests are able to use the all of the grounds. We spent one evening sitting overlooking the beautiful pond, a lovely place to relax after a day out. There are some lovely walks from the property without having to use your car

Easter holidays
We had a wonderful time in this cosy cottage. It was wonderfully furnished and well equipped with everything we needed. We even found a bottle of wine as a welcome gift in the fridge which was very much appreciated.
The cottage was quiet and secluded but close enough to all the sights we wanted to see: Leeds castle, Bodiam castle, Sissinghurst gardens, Hole Park...
We enjoyed every bit of the holidays. We can only recommend Pickle cottage.

Stay for my wedding
My now husband and I got married close to the cottage and far from where we live so we booked it for a few nights before and after the big day and for me to get ready in on the morning. It’s not the easiest place to find but it’s a beautiful little cottage in a quiet spot and had everything we needed. The outside space is really tranquil with a little pond and there was ample parking space (helpful with bridesmaids, photographers and make-up artists coming and going!). I have some lovely photos of me and my girls getting ready and we spent a blissful first morning there as husband and wife.
Communication was good with the hosts and they messaged me to see if we had already checked out on the last day when both our cars disappeared, when we had just popped out and were coming back to pack our things and clean up.
We booked through Vrbo as we only had to pay a deposit until two months before our stay, and we were concerned Covid might postpone our wedding plans. The flexibility was helpful but thankfully not needed.
The cottage is not far from Tenterden with its beautiful high street and surrounded by pretty countryside. Hopefully we’ll be back for an anniversary to reminisce!

Stunning property, everything kept to an incredibly high standard, beautiful surroundings
We would highly recommend this property. Situated within beautiful grounds, this cottage was the perfect, relaxing stay for a weekend in Kent for a wedding. We wished we'd had more time to explore the local walks and fields. Claire was welcoming and very helpful with my various questions about the property before I arrived.

Idyllic!
My husband and 18 month old daughter have just returned from a short stay at Pickle Cottage and I have to say we are already missing it! The most stunning location - the gardens are beautiful and the cottage itself is light and airy (but I can also imagine is so cosy in the winter months!)
Clare and Guy were wonderful hosts - the communication was excellent in the run up our stay and whilst we we’re there, nothing was too much trouble. . Their lovely little dog Kate was a particular hit with our daughter!
We would love to go back to Pickle Cottage someday. For anyone looking to explore Kent/Sussex, I’d highly recommend it as a base. Although there is a risk you may not want to leave at all!

Social distance trip to grandparents
What an idyllic spot! Very friendly hosts and beautiful spacious accommodation. Easily able to social distance with grandparents while enjoying Indian takeaway. Peaceful setting. The boys loved space to play football and the very cute friendly dog. Would love to enjoy again soon!

Fabulous cottage in lovely location
We stayed here for just the one night, a family of four. It was exactly what we needed and more. Really well set-up with brilliant facilities. Very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Clare was very helpful and the location was peaceful and a nice reach from some great tourist visits. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely property & location
A beautiful barn conversion in a great location. Great amenities & very comfort beds! Welcoming hosts with a very cute dog who entertained my boys playing fetch with a tennis ball! Quiet location in a great spot for exploring the surrounding area & coastline.
