Lovely location near the marina. Self check in was super easy and quick. Room was nicely decorated and very comfortable! The restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast and the staff were so lovely!
There isn’t any parking.

Stylish and comfortable beds. Good breakfast
Noise from the street and very hot inside (no airco nor fan). Impossible to open the windows due to traffic and impossible to sleep because of the temperature. I would not come back in the summer.

Suite was big and comfortable. So were the beds. Bathroom was nice but lacked better lights.
Lack of reception gave an inconvenient feeling. We would not have needed anything but maybe add a hotline in case of issues.

The location of the hotel was right by the port, parking was public just across the road.
The room was compact with a very comfortable bed and crisp white bed linen.
The hotel is run with self check in with a machine outside that issues your room key.
So if you need any help or advice there is no one to ask.
The room was very warm, no air con, if you open the windows you are subject to a very noisy road.

Good location near the harbour, fabulous breakfast, friendly staff, parking nearby. We found a lovely Belgian bar nearby and there were 2 bars with live music too. The restaurant looked nice and was busy but we didn’t eat there as we’d already eaten.
we had a problem with the automatic check in but luckily the restaurant was still open so we checked in there

No communal places available. Restaurant under the hotel is not always open.

quirky and warm atmosphere.
being welcomed by a computer screen. Especially when it’s not functioning.

Lovely central location. We paid extra to have a view of the Harbour (we had room 7) .... well worth it, otherwise it might just be a concrete block/wall that you're looking at! Bed was very comfortable, with lovely cotton linen! Impressive ! Would recommend it to friends for a short stay in Dunkerque. Would stay here again ourselves too, if we were ever in the area again.
Didn't like the self check-in. Very impersonal ! Milk sachets with coffee facility would be a good idea too as not everyone has black coffee :).

Lovely unusual hotel great location worth paying the extra for a view of the harbour. Room spotless lovely bedding and towels, great bathroom and shower. Had an issue with checkin and being locked out of the room and both times staff rang back with 10 mins to sort the issue. Great position easy to walk to the shops and to the beach and the operation Dynamo museum.
Would recommend and would stay here again.
Coffee machine was lukewarm all the time a kettle would be better. Parking was cheap and easy once we worked it out, but some instructions in the room would be helpful and some details about places to visit.
Room was small but it was spotless and we had everything we needed.

easy check-in (automat) and nice and tidy room. sufficient parking all around. Close to the center and harbour so great location!
Shame the restaurant was closed.

Everything was perfect. The bed was huge and super comfortable. Nice bathroom. Quiet room (number one). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We loved the breakfast, as everything was so fresh. Excellent coffee, lovely bread and cheese, croissants and cakes, nice local apple juice. You can have eggs and bacon if you like. There was fresh fruit salad as well. We loved breakfast so much that we booked for lunch, before moving on to our next destination. We had mussels and chips, which were delicious. Thumbs up for everything.
Absolutely nothing.

Chambre 9 good sized room, nice views, good size bathroom, overall a light and airy room, very nice.
Breakfast great, staff lovely, quality excellent, evening meal in Restaurant on Thursday evening and Saturday lunch superb.
I miss not being able to come down to the restaurant for a drink/meal every night, it would be nice to have somewhere to sit and drink any night of the week, not just Thursday to Sunday lunch.
Also, with respect, I do not feel it is sufficiently safe that no-one is on the premises after breakfast closes during Monday to Thursday evening. For example if my Hotel / Door access card doesn't work when I return to the Hotel at 19:00 on Tuesday evening after a long day at work, and I did not know my Reservation number, I am stuck outside the hotel, so I guess I then have to call someone and either wait until they come to let me in or they help me get a new Hotel / Door access card from the Machine on the wall outside the Hotel? Or what if I go out for Dinner on Wednesday evening to L'Edito and come back to the Hotel at 21:00 and realize I left my Room access card in my room by mistake? Or what if I come out of my room at 20:00 on Tuesday evening and go downstairs to get a map or some brochures from ground floor but then can't get back in my room on the second floor because my Room access card doesn't work or I accidentally left it in my room and I've also left my phone in the room? To be stuck inside the Hotel at 20:00 between the ground floor and second floor with no way to contact anyone would be chaos. This is the only thing that, unless changed, will probably mean I will not return to Aux Waterzooi, as from a safety / comfort perspective I feel someone should be at the hotel until say 21:00/22:00 each night.

Smart little boutique hotel, clean with a good view.
No reception and a less than simple check in procedure that required a phone call to help.

Amazing breakfast. Nice location in middle of Dunkirk. Clean and modern rooms.
Limited reception hours. Self check in using a machine, I had to call to help me with check in.

Kind and professional staff. Very good breakfasy.

The actual room was pleasant enough and the interior of the hotel was nicely decorated and very clean and tidy (although the listed 'view' was of the back carpark, modern rooftops...and the air conditioning units for the neighbouring building!). It was also a good location and for the very brief time I saw staff in the morning they were very friendly.
Unfortunately the room was extremely hot (which, given there was a heatwave, was no fault of the owner), however only one window opened and there was no air conditioning or fan. The bed was very soft, and had both a mattress topper and waterproof sheet, which made the bed even hotter. I was so hot and uncomfortable I ended up sleeping on the duvet on the floor!
Also, the hotel states a 19.00 check in, so we cut short our plans for the day....only to arrive and find that it is a self check-in system.
