This stay was one of the surprise highlights of our trip, and a great base for exploring Capmany with its many bodegas -

Great location in the well appointed village of Capmany. Listing does not do this place justice - really highly recommended. Host was very accommodating. Breakfast in the nearby restaurant was a delight!

100% recommended!!! No doubt at all

The room is spacious, very clean and cozy and has a good temperature. In my personal opinion, the bed is too hard to sleep in but this is personal for each person and they have a sofa-bed that is very comfortable! There is extra blankets on the shelf in case it gets cold at night. With the room comes a bottle of wine too!!! Really nice gesture. The town is very charming and the food tastes better than in the city. I would recommend can xicu to everybody, even as a lone traveler, they have common areas and books to borrow so you can disconnect from reality and immerse yourself in exciting stories while resting in a comfortable and very quiet place.

Only downside to me was the bed, which I found was too hard to sleep on.

Beautiful and special place!

Great location and very special place. So beautiful! Loved the room. The staff was very responsive on whatsapp. The breakfast was great in a quaint restaurant. Really enjoyed our stay.

The beds were a bit hard for our liking :-)

Ancient town with film-set aspirations.

This is a time machine ! You feel like you are back in the 15th century castle, although fully updated with excellent amenities. I arranged to call them on arrival (no reception), and the lady arrived in a few minutes. She brought her infant daughter in pirate cloths with a 'parrot' on her shoulder ; the whole setting could be in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' era ! The doors work with codes, handy if you get the hang of it. There was a complimentary bottle of local wine. This might have been due to booking the most expensive room with a terrace, out of season ( 5C..).

I arrived late, not enough time left for the walk I planned. Even the town needs an hour to walk around, so I never got to the surroundings. I come back later this month, allthough then we are also -too- late for a walk.

Lovely hotel

Fabulous

Stone built hotel with much character.Our room was very comfortable.Everywhere was spotlessly clean.The complimentary bottle of local red wine was much appreciated.The breakfast was excellent with good coffee.

We realy recommend this Hostal.

Capmany is a charming village. The Hostal is located in a nice little square. Our room was quiet spacious and very clean and it had a big balcony. The communal garden and salon are cosy. Breakfast and diner in the family restaurant are good and everything is reasonably prices. The owners are friendly and helpful.
