The location is fabulous, and the bedroom was big. Katy, the person who welcomed us and cooked for us, was very nice.
The food was quite expensive for what it was, and while I can understand you have to carry it to that remote place, fruit is very cheap and accessible in Panama, so I was shocked to be served what was clearly canned juice.
But my main disappointment was to coincide with a large family (grandparents/parents/children/infant) who, understandably, was very noisy and occupying the space. Lots of shouting, and board planks shaking as the kids were running and jumping on the desk at dinner time... We felt as if we were crashing their party. It's vacation time so not much you can do or say to a family who is having fun, but because the place is advertised as a perfect place a for romantic escape, managers should be careful of who they put together on a remote and limited space upon the water, as this can easily ruin the experience. In the end I was glad we stayed for one night only, and that I wasn't on a romantic trip!

The staff was great! Kathy and Natasha were great and on top of things! They really cared for us as guests!
I may have assumed incorrectly but there was no AC in the units which because of the humidity made for a couple uncomfortable nights.

The property is beautiful and the food is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable in the views are stunning.
It’s a bit remote, which works in both its favor and against it in the latter where you swim was broken and was difficult to negotiate. It looks like it hadn’t been fixed in quite a while. The bugs are relentless and you really need to put nets over the bed since you don’t have any screens in any air conditioning.

The location was nice. It was quiet, peaceful, and had a nice view.
We went to Panama on our honeymoon, and our stay at Aqui Hoy was extremely unpleasant for many reasons:
There was no AC in the room. This was not advertised and was quite shocking given the price. The room was hot and humid even at night, so it was impossible to get a good night's sleep. We would have never stayed there had this been properly disclosed.
Given how hot it was, we kept the sliding doors open sometimes to let in a breeze. However, there was no screen on the doors. This led to my husband waking up with 100+bug bites one morning.
The bathroom smelled like urine when we arrived. It didn't seem like it had been cleaned very well.
The water in the shower did not stay at one, normal temperature. It was either very hot or very cold.
The shower door did not slide properly. We needed to lift it to get it to move, and even then, it was impossible to move it smoothly. Likewise, the handle on the door of the toilet room came off partially when pulled.
There was no safe for valuables in the room and no lock on the door.
The room was very dark. Even when all of the lights were on, we found it too dark to read and resorted to using flashlights in our cellphones.
The lamps that were in the room were yellow, which meant they were super bright to look at and painful on the eyes, despite not illuminating the room well at all. They were also very hot.
As for toiletries, only a bar of soap was provided and the staff said they could not provide anything else. Unfortunately there were more issues as well. Since we were only there for 2 days and we were out most of the time, we did not communicate these issues to the owner at the time. We likely should have but still, given the above, we felt we needed to document what happened.
When we contacted the owner after our visit to express our dissatisfaction, he did not try to compensate for the situation nor offer any sort of refund.

It was in a nice place of isla Solarte.
I was the only paying guest, ant the place was always full with friends (staff's friends I guess) ... So there was loud music, loid conversations, they were coming in and out of the kitchen... And I just didn't feel comfortable going out of my room or asking for something from the restaurant - it seemed they were doing their thing more than working at the hotel-. Next day there would be trash (empty cans and cigarette cartons) all over the floor, the kitchen a mess and even dog poo on the floor (they have a new puppy).

Great location, very good breakfast.
It will be great if they can provide some kayaks and paddle boards (for small fee to rent). The location is fantastic, but not much to do on the property.

The place is beautiful, inviter my brother and sister in-law they LOVED IT, their first experience in tropical paradise. The staff was great always ready to help. Just a great time will be going back.
We could only stay a few days.

The location is amazing!!! and the bungalows are very well build on clear waters with interesting life!
We were allowed to sleep 2 adults , 2 younger kids in one doubleroom - which was nice- pay 15 dollar / night for a matress
This place really has potential but does not fullfill it. Im not completely sure if I would recommend it to friends
The guidance and pick up to hotel was excellent and Heiner communicate well on whatsapp :)
My recommendation - bring your own water and stay 1-2 nigths!!!!
okay- this list comes with the perspective of the place being completely isolated and quite expensive for Panama:
- BRING YOUR OWN water if you dont want to drink tap . a water cost 5 USD / L here and comes in small plastic bottle. The hotel could invest in purifing systems , at least to serve water to breakfast :)
The atmosphere on the beautiful terrace is completely gone. No attendance to detail - e,g turn on lightchain, music or clean up from nights before . The kitchen is closed most of the time and between 17-19 , which means also the bar . With the few rooms it feel a bit abandoned. Im truly happy I experienced this place but also very happy to leave after 2 days. Its intense being isolated with no fridge , no free/cheap water and limited space :)
There is no room service and the feeling that you disturb if you ask.
The food is not something to remember . its just okay - burgers cost 16 , dishes 22 USD.
juice for breakfast has never seen a fruit

Restaurant is too expensive.

The hotel itself is nice. There are two cabins with two rooms each built on either side of the dock, with a restaurant and sitting area in the middle. You're right over the water on a deck built on stilts. The room is big and comfortable, with nice sheets and towels and all of that. It's super quiet and dark at night so great for sleeping.
This would be okay if you want a place to relax and do nothing. If you want to visit other places in the archipelago it's inconvenient. It's much easier to get boats and organized tours in Bocas Town, but that's a ramshackle little town that's not for everyone. In general, I wouldn't recommend Bocas del Toro as one of the world's great beach vacation destinations. The snorkeling was okay there, but the visibility wasn't great and although there was some coral we didn't see a huge number of fish.
There's not much to do from the hotel. You can't walk anywhere from there. Most activities in Bocas del Toro are on the water. The hotel has its own boat, maybe two, but it's a small place with at most 8 guests so it's not like there are organized tours. You have to ask, it takes a long time to organize, and it costs more than going on a group tour from Bocas town. The advantage I guess is that you get to say where the boat goes, the disadvantage is that the boat is small, doesn't have a cover, is operated by two teenagers, and you can't go as far or visit multiple places (or at least it would be expensive to do so).
Our rate included breakfast, but it's not much and there's no choice. You get a small fruit cocktail, scrambled eggs and a couple of pieces of cold toast. There are no options for lunch or dinner except the hotel's restaurant, and prices are very high, with mains costing north of $20.

We enjoyed visiting with the staff, the food and the facility.
One of the guests got really drunk and came into our room during the night.

Location is great and so are the rooms. Staff is nice.
For its price it's not worth it unless you don't care about the money at all. Food is expensive and very average. We read about how great the food is and we were quite disapointed. You get much better food for half of the price in the city. We also wanted to do some snorkeling but there was only 1 mask and quite an old one. We broke it immediatelly when we wanted to put it on.

The overall experience is simply special. Sleeping over the water with a brilliant view of most of Bocas Bay right from your bed ... top! Add a skillful cook and hospitable owner and you get a relax of your life. Really unique, quiet and lovely place.
We had just hot/cold shower water set up fight. Nothing to worry about.

we travel all around the world and I have to say the the staff in this hotel were amazing , abner and Tanysha were really welcoming and always worry about our needs. AMAZING people
the only thing we didn’t like is that they offer a private jet sky tour but the person in charge was not there for my whole stay. REALLY DISAPPOINTED
they should reconsider a better tour .

Great place right on the water! Just a short boat ride from town. Excellent food and service! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They also have all the water toys and can arrange for any tour or activities you like.

Amazing and wonderful. We truly enjoyed our stay in Aquí hoy. The room is very clean and you have everything you need there. We loved the calm and peaceful atmosphere there and mainly... The food... We both are vegetarians and the chef was cooking the most delicious food we ever had. Thank you very much for all your care.

The service is AMAZING! Tanysha and Abner really do their utmost to ensure you're taken care of from the time you land until the time you leave.
The food was also very good. The lobster, the whole fried fish, the ceviche, the mashed plantains. Everything we had at Aqui Hoy was superb, and even the off-site restaurants we ventured to on the other islands in Bocas was really, really good.
The location was great, with easily available access to the rest of the archipelago. Whenever we wanted to go somewhere, Abner was ready to take us.
It's an eco-lodge, so there is no air conditioning in the rooms and the toilets only process organic material (no toilet paper in the toilet).

The hotel was beautiful, and the staff was terrific, helpful and so nice. They spoiled us in breakfast, and all of the food there was really tasty!
It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sea view and beautiful sunsets.
It is quite isolated, there is no beach in a walking distance and no access to the island itself.
However, it's perfect for honymooon and for relaxation.

Even though Aqui Hoy is located in an amazing place and is the ultimate relaxation spot, what really made our stay amazing is the staff! Abner, Jorvin and Tanysha were fantastic. We initially booked to stay for two days, but ended up staying a week. Would highly recommend organizing day tours with them! They make sure you have a great day and see all the best places. Abner is also a great chef, so the food was delicious. Would love to return some day.

Beautiful view. Sunsets are incredible. It’s an easy ride from Bocas town. They can call a water taxi whenever you need. We took the jet ski tour and saw starfish, dolphins and a 3 toed sloth.
We really enjoyed everything

Great sea view and quiet place. Only four rooms in the hotel. The hotel staff (Katy, the woman that does everything) was really nice, helpful, and cooks really good.
Wifi signal is a little weak in the outermost cabin which we were staying; strong signal everywhere else. A description indicating the hotel facilities consist of the rooms and common area (restaurant/deck) only would be helpful for guests to be fully aware that that is it. No further amenities or space because the entire hotel is built on top of the water. It would also be helpful to indicate that to get to/from the hotel to go anywhere you need a water taxi. Water taxi was $5/person one way (November 2019) to get to Colon Island (Bocas Town).
