Open, great view and clean

The view, and the dogs and cats. It was very peaceful and quiet, we could have been here for a longer time.
There was no one to check-in, so we missed a warm welcome and we could not lock our door.

Everything about our stay here was superb. The couple that own it are very welcoming and helpful. The property is stunning and we wished we had of stayed for more nights.
Couldn’t be faulted.

it’s quite easy to travel around and they have a very cute dogs!

Lee and his wife were so welcoming and caring! It was really nice that each house comes with their own little kitchen. The views were incredible, I loved starting my day drinking a cup of coffee with the lake views as well as ending my days like that! The location was great because the property has access to the town and it’s only a few minutes walk with a few restaurants options.
It kind of sucked that the lanchas end the day so early so you need to make sure you are back on time but nothing that had to do with the property.

amazing view, quiet place to relax.
cute pets.
nice garden.
dogs were barking all night long.

Roof has open spots so wind gets in and it's cold, plus there was a windstorm so even debris were falling on us while sleeping
Bathroom has no privacy at all, door is windows and it doesn't have a curtain so they'll see you poop, and the shower window doesn't have a curtain as well so people outside will see you shower
Terrible experience

just the sea.
Horror!
1. Lee gave us a different room to the one booked for the same money! instead of the large living room with two beds, we got the very small "hut" without a clever roof (no insulation, thatched roof) with only one bed and a camping kitchen.
2. After I asked Lee for laundry, his wife was already screaming hysterically, what's the point of doing the laundry so late. She was really derogatory, so Lee just yelled something back at her and ran back to the cabin with me. Although she saw me, she screamed. That was the first time i saw her! Of course no laundry then.
3. The bed in the cabin was totally crooked, instead of taking care of the problem he just said cholerically: "you can also leave!". Of course we couldn't. Guatemala is dangerous and the accommodation is on a secluded jetty where no public boats would have gone at this hour. You shouldn't go out in the dark in Guatemala anymore. What he was doing was pure abuse of power.
Then he said that he will have his "dinner" first and will show us another apartment after his dinner in 20 minutes.
4. 20 Minutes later: The other apartment was an Airbnb cold tree house, another "2 minutes" walk, that normally costs $30, he wanted for the same price ($70). So we had to stay in the cabin.
5. It was so cold already at 11PM that we asked Lee maybe for a heater and informed him that it was very cold. There was never an answer. Nothing. No extra blankets, no "no, I'm very sorry". Nothing. We had to sleep with 14 degrees (attached picture) It was so cold I could hardly sleep, plus I already had a cold.
6. Next morning his wife was already sitting on the terrace and didn't say a word to us. She looked aggressive and just screamed for Lee. Lee didn't apologize for the fact that we were cold or that he never answered, just wanted the money.

The views were spectacular! The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. It was easy to get to and within walking distance to the main dock which also contained several restaurants and small conscience stalls.
The only issue I had was with my allergies. I'm sensitive to dust, mold, and pet allergens and my allergies really acted up when in the room. The hot water is also solar heated, which was ok but not great.

Great position, owners very kind
Lack of privacy. Dogs and their food everywhere in the garden, disorder, outside forniture in bad conditions.

Location is great, on the best side of the lake. It is next to a restaurant for easy meals and there is a basic kitchen to prepare food. It is right next to a trail fo some good hiking. Kayaks ans SUPs for rent!
You must be an animal lover as there are about 4 dogs and 4 cats. They are very peaceful but might bark early morning once in a while.

Fantastic view over Lake Atitlan and volcanoes, Atitlan and Toliman from the bedroom. Easy walk to ferry dock. Comfortable bed. Kitchen had all we needed. Pleasant hosts and cute dogs.
Nothing worth noting

Lee and Elaine are amazing hosts. Very friendly and helpful. They even helped us out with some food, when we did not manage to do our shopping in time and gave us some nice freshly baked fudge straight from the oven!
The garden and the view are just spectacular.
In general it could have been a bit cleaner. We cleaned the kitchen ourselves upon arrival to feel a little more comfortable.
Also you should be accustomed to dogs and their smell. Lee and Elaine have four very friendly dogs (at times there were 6), and we always had to be careful not to step into dog poo in the garden and the lawn!

It was in a beautiful area , surrounded by a lake. It rained everyday , so we didn’t get any use of it or the activities.
we Didn’t have hot water the whole stay & never got to shower but boiled water to wash hair. ended up leaving & eating the cost of 2 nights . they have 3-4 stray dogs that roam your area that barked night & day & other things.

Lee and Elaine made us feel comfortable and at home. They were very welcoming and accommodating.

Outside kitchen facilities great. Room nice.
Room is adjacent to owners' house set well back from the lake....there is shared terrace with no privacy, and all their dogs are constantly around the terrace. We stopped sitting on there and went by the lake instead. (However, they have a lovely more private alternative, Lakeside Retreat, which is also closer to the lake).
Outside areas need to be kept much tidier for guests.

Peaceful retreat on the lake, just a 7 minute walk from the main dock in Santa Cruz- close enough to pop over somewhere for dinner but far enough its very quiet and away from the busier hostels. The room is very spacious, bathroom large with solar hot water that gets pretty hot! The kitchen is well equipped, had the whole fridge and space to myself to cook. The patio area has a great view to just chill with some coffee. You can catch a lancha from the dock just out the door. The owners have lots of digs and a couple cats but they're all very friendly and well trained (I liked them and I'm not really a dog person :) ). The owners were very helpful with any questions or anything you need. Wifi was quick enough for internet and streaming, theres also a tv in the room with Netflix. Owners also run a kayak and SUP business right out the door, as well as tours. Bed comes with plenty of pillows and is very comfortable.
Can't really think of anything

Luxurious housing on the shores of Lake Atitlan.
The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. They offered to meet us in Panajachela, and took us by private boat to our own pier.
Magnificent scenery. It’s a pity that we didn’t spend much there.

The most beautiful view and peaceful location. The garden is beautiful and it all feels in balance. The room we slept in was big, comfortable and clean. The use of the kitchen is great especially when youre travelling a bit longer so nice to cook your own meals again. Lee and Elaine are the most friendly hosts and we felt like home for a couple of days. Besides that their dogs and cats are so friendly and fun to play with! Def recommend :)

The property was beautiful, and perfectly located. Every morning I got to wake up to the most outstanding view of the lake and volcano, with a beautiful walk to the local restaurants and activities.

Elena and Lee were very nice hosts. Their casita provided everything needed, including a space to cook. Even when I unfortunately caught a stomach bug, they did what they were able to assist with my comfort. The property is right on the lake and a true treasure to rise to each day. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time staying at this spot. The hosts were helpful, gracious and kind, responsive and available but never intrusive. It was like visiting family or friends. Incredibly beautiful spot.

A good place to relax and and explore the local area. You can rent a kayak to explore the lake. There are a few nice restaurants close by. The property is only accessed by boat which is fun if you use a private boat
nothing I can think of
