Huisje is super.

We had an amazing stay at Wendy's place. If you would like a true Costa Rican experience staying with a beautiful family in your own house, then this is for you. Order breakfast and dinner every day and you will be very happy that you did! Wendy's mother brings breakfast to you, and her sister the evening meal. The food is delicious and plentiful and we had enough often to take for lunch when we were out and about. The birding morning with Wendy was great, and she arranged a fantastic river trip where we were the only two folks plus the captain and a young guide! We were adopted by the three family dogs and they almost always accompanied us on our walks up and down the road looking for birds. There is a tree a couple of hundred yards down the road that has 50 plus Oronpendula nests! We loved our 5 nights here and felt like we became part of their family.

We had an amazing stay. The location of the house is perfect, surrounded by nature. Many birds and other animals to see! Wendy and her family are so kind. Breakfast and dinner, made by Rita, tasted really good. Oso the dog showed us the way to a beautiful waterfall and swimming place nearby. Sarapiqui is a nice region, a lot of nature to explore without crowds. Don't hesitate, just book this place. You won't regret it.

wow what a great lodge. it is situated in the forest and from your balcony you have a marvellous view. the lodge itself is spacious and has all needed facilities. outside you will find a lot of different birds (birdwatching tour is highly recommended). just a short hike from the lodge there is a beautiful waterfall. Wendy and here family have treated us like family and we felt totally welcome.

Wendy was welcoming and informative. The lodge was great lovely inside and outside balconies with fabulous get away from it all views. Great walk to waterfall nearby accompanied by our two lovely dog companions. We would recommend a car for further exploration. Dinner and breakfast were great and prepared by family members for a real at home experience with traditional cooking

Wendy runs these lodges on behalf of the entire family who are resident nearby and what an amazing job she does! We loved our stay in Eco Lodge 1. It had everything we needed for our 2 night adventure in Sarapiqui. We also enjoyed a fab evening frog tour with Wendy who is so knowledgeable. She also kindly organised in house massages with her sister which were so relaxing and good value.
Wendy also organised white water rafting and chocolate tours for us, which we cannot fault and would highly recommend. We were also lucky to walk to the local waterfall which was just breathtaking.
The views from the balcony, the comfy beds, the space and the well stocked kitchen was perfect for us to experience beautiful Sarapiqui. Hot water too! The value for this stay is just incredible.
Nothing - we cannot fault our stay.

Our experience was wonderful, we were sorry that we couldn't stay longer. The house is very comfortable, clean, calm, and the view is incredible. Wendy was an great host, she immediately made us feel welcome, and pointed us to good activities nearby. I would definitely recommend staying here and would go back without hesitation.

Authentic experience, amazing hosts. A wonderful family. Much more to the place and family that own and run the accommodation than just running the accommodation. An inspiring bunch of humans that have lots of great ideas, talents
and a big heart x Wendy is also an exceptional nature guide, loved our night tour. The waterfall close by is amazing and very quiet (we had it our ourselves). The food was delicious and the dogs were fabulous too, followed us everywhere! We saw so much and wildlife from our balcony.. Howler monkeys, toucans, macaws, hummingbirds..
A little piece of true Costa rican magic right there 💙🌍 I'd love to return one day.

The most brilliant accommodation! Looks straight out onto beautiful forest from both balconies. very well kitted out kitchen and comfortable beds with mosquito nets. Walk to the waterfall to swim and private night tours by Wendy were fantastic as were the meals cooked by her family. Can’t praise it enough!
Nothing. It was all amazing.

Extremely beautiful and comfortable wood house right in the middle of the forest. Fantastic facilities in the kitchen, two balconies (one in each floor), and beautiful interior. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely place. Lot of birds in the place. The breakfast and dinner from Wendy's mother is very tasty. And we recommend you to make the Frog tour with Wendy. We saw lot of frogs, kinkaju and woolly opossum. Family Karlsson from Sweden.

Wonderful large breakfast - very nice hosts - birds on back balcony, especially the Long-billed Hermit!

The architectural style of the building was very cool. It really felt like a vacation retreat. The location was close to many activities. I HIGHLY recommend the whitewater rafting and the chocolate tour.
The joists that support the second floor require some structural reinforcement in the master bedroom area. I think some strategically placed LED nightlights would make the path to the bathroom safer at night. In general, the lightbulbs would probably be better with a warmer color temperature to coordinate with the building aesthetic. Some of the insect screens need to be patched/replaced.

the BEST place we stayed by far!! The lodge is double storey and both levels have expansive verandas with a view out to the jungle. Waking up to the sound of howler monkeys and watching hummingbirds, toucans and blue Morpheus butterflies flying by…. heaven.
there is a kitchen and coffee making facilities. A real home from home. Wendy was so accommodating, she’s an ecologist with lots of knowledge of the local wildlife. The town is five minutes away by car (4000 colones in a taxi) and there is the most amazing national park with hanging bridges nearby. Not one to miss!!!

Would recommend to anyone who wishes to see real human Costarica.

Everything! Exactly what we were looking for to begin our 3 week stay. The family is beyond sweet and helpful and make you feel right at home. You can take a nice hike on nearby property that leads to a secluded waterfall and swimming hole. Its a slice of paradise and 100% recommend and worth doing. The food prepared by Wendy’s mom was delicious and just a neat way to enjoy a meal. My kids made fast friends with the dogs that made it extra hard to leave. Wendy’s house and her family are very special and we feel lucky to have found them on our travels.
Nothing. It was what we wanted and needed for a couple nights stay.

What did I liked the most? WENDY! The owner, we really loved her!! The cute wooden house in the middle of the rainforest was exactly what we were looking for.
You could hear all the sounds of the forest the whole day and in the house you absolutely had the feeling as if you were part of it :)
Wendy is also a fantastic tour guide to help you spot wildlife and beautiful nature.
I can really recommend this place for everyone who wants to be IN nature as much as possible and wants something else than only touristic places, you know what I mean.
So, YES, visit Sarapiqui and stay here!
Everything was perfect

Such a location with such welcoming people is a gem in itself. If you have a car, you're in for an awesome time. We saw monkeys right from the terrace!
The only detail is the lack of wifi in the cabana. It's a detail, we don't need wifi all the time, but I don't see anything else.
