Perfect stay for 2 plus dog
We loved the biscuits, milk, tea and coffee left for us, thank you. We all loved the little enclosed garden and the meadow we had all to ourselves. Our dog could go off lead and we had some lovely walks, it really is a massive bonus. The cottage had everything we needed. The village is perfect, friendly people. Tasty meals and good drinks at the local pub. We will come again.
Nothing, really. The beds were a little soft for me but that's just my preference to have a harder mattress. Too many cushions ha ha

Cosy cottage well located for Peak District exploring.
Excellent base for walks/ hikes in the Peak District. The cottage is cosy, well equipped, has off road parking and is in a quiet off-road position. About 15 minutes drive to either Buxton or Bakewell for supermarkets, shops and restaurants.
No phone/ mobile signal.

Exceptional
Great place and amazing scenery. Nice friendly town. Would be great for a getaway (I was there for business)
As we were there for business purposes the WIFI could have been better and the cell phone reception was not great, but if I was there for a holiday break it would have been perfect.

Quintessential country cottage in a perfect location.
Well-equipped, cosy cottage located in lovely village with countryside walks around. Well placed for excursions to nearby market towns Buxton, Ashbourne and Bakewell and to visit places of historical interest such as Chatsworth or Haddon Hall.. Owner Tracey a fount of recommendations about trails and tourist sites and local historical knowledge.
Initially worried about poor internet and telephone connectivity but in the end it was adequate, if unreliable. If you need good internet I do not recommend this cottage.

Great location and concept, some improvements needed.
We enjoyed staying in the property for its location in the lovely village of Chelmorton. The village is small and quiet, making it a great place to go to relax. But it’s also close to lots of other places where there is a bit more to do, such as Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock. The village is all on one street with a fab pub (the Church Inn) and several beautiful walks at the top of the hill. This is also a great place to bring dogs, both for the property itself (with garden) and an additional 3 acres where the owners have provided a place for some off lead fun. Lots of facilities in the property, including full kitchen and 2 en suite bathrooms with showers. lots of different lighting in the property too, means there are options to have a relaxed low light with the electric fire on. For an old stable the property is very warm (we ended up turning the heating down), which was lovely. TV, with DVD player also provided. Tea, coffee, biscuits and milk provided. Wine was available for £5 a bottle, a nice touch when there are no shops near.
There are some points we were disappointed with. Some aspects of the property were not that clean, frustrating given the Covid rules in place for guests. Stale food was in the cutlery draw, the toilet brushes were not clean, a very small amount of toilet roll was provided (not enough for a 4 night stay) and also nearly empty washing up liquid. This meant we had to drive to find these, which was not ideal. Parts of the property are in need of some TLC. This includes black mould in the grout of both showers and generally quite worn furniture/ paintwork. What spoilt our relaxation at the end of the stay was the COVID rules in place at the property, which seemed a bit excessive given the cost of staying in the property and that no other hotels/ self catering we have stayed at have these rules in place. Guests have to strip all beds, empty bins and towels (with clear rules about where things should be left) before leaving. When we stripped the beds, we were also very disappointed to see that the pillows, duvets and mattresses were well worn with some stains. There is very scarce WiFi and no phone signal at the property and most of the village.
