Hope Josefa has the perfect score for what a traveler dream to stay. First of all, it's the closest hotel to the ferry.(5 minutes fast walking ) Not only the superb location, the hotel has the most beautiful courtyard in a safe and quiet neighborhood even though it is conveniently located in the center of the city (10mins walk to the street market). But the best of all about the hotel is the quality of the employees who keep the property in such immaculate condition in addition to their courteous and helpful manner in customer service. These sisters, Betty and Veronica, are the true assets to the hotel. If you find a room available, you should consider yourself lucky. I cannot think of any other hotels in Santiago which can exceed Hotel Josefa, the overall scores such as: location, safe/clean/quiet, employees, decoration, landscapes, for the price..! As a bonus, on the way to reach the front door of Hotel Josefa, you will be impressed by the magnificent mural on the wall which was done by the local artists. And not to forget to mention, the real hot shower..!

The staff was very nice, the location close to the dock and restaurants.
The water in our room cut off 3 times but was easily turned back on. Alot of road noise through the night.

The location is great, you can walk everywhere. The staff is absolutely the best. They went out of their way to make my stay the best. The courtyard is delightful.

the location is really good and the place felt safe. the staff was nice and everything you need (kitchen, aqua pura, …) was there as well. as it is not on the Main Street it is calm.
There were some fireworks in the city going on that night and they were just as loud as if they were in our room.

Friendly staff, the most comfortable bed we have stayed in in Guatemala, beautiful courtyard, excellent powerful and very hot shower.
WiFi did not reach to our room.

Room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Plenty of space. It's almost like a bedsit, with kitchen facility. Might be handy for a longer stay. There's a pool, though we didn't use it. Good value for money.
Out of the owners control of course but it was super noisy due to neighbors, dogs and roosters to the left next door! There's not much of a seal on the windows so it was loud. Bring ear plugs or ask for room on the other side.

Nice location, right near the end of the road leading from the docks. Didn't even need to hire a tuktuk as it was basically a few steps away. Nice and secure with a locking gate. The all-women staff (woman-run hotel!) was incredibly friendly and laughed at my friend and I getting into the cold, cold pool...
The hook on the wall in the bathroom to dry your things is right above the toilet paper! Careful about that one... But everything was seriously great!

A quiet fairly modern hotel just a few minutes away from the dock. Small fenced green courtyard, clean rooms, comfortable bathrooms with hot showers, a pool if you want one, a very basic kitchen. The staff was always very kind and friendly. The terrace on the roof could be a great place to hang out in the morning/evening but alas is not very well equipped. WiFi is blazing fast! Santiago is a fairly small town so most of it is at most 10 min away on foot. Quietness-wise, the hotel is tucked away in the middle of a residential quarter off the main roads, but if you're looking for some real tranquility then an indigenous town is not your place anyway - you cannot escape the dogs, roosters and crackers even in the middle of the night.
The roof terrace could be magnificent if it were better equipped. Great that the rooms have a small table and I'd loved to have a decent chair with it rather than a small plastic stool. Otherwise, can't think if anything to criticise!

Great location right in the middle of town. Beautiful gardens and pool. Perfectly clean. Staff were friendly and very flexible with my check in and check out times. Overall highly recommend for a great value in Santiago!
A bit noisy especially with the roosters nearby in the early morning, but not much the hotel can do about that.

Casa Josefa is the cleanest hotel in Santiago. It is located centrally in town so the life of the town is very near by. The garden and pool are immaculate. The staff is very helpful. If you are traveling on a budget, this is wonderful. Great service. Great rooms.
Travelers should know that being in town means you will hear people, vehicles, dogs, and roosters. You will hear these from your room. This is part of being in Guatemala! But as in-town hotels go, this one is quieter than others. The lower floors have less sound. The upper floors have views of the beautiful gardens.

Perfect location, only a 5 minute walk from the ferry! Comfy beds, great shower and such wonderful hosts!! We accidentally left our phone charger and the host ran down the street to hand it to us before we hopped on the ferry! Really enjoyed our time here!

Location was only a block from the dock. Beautiful garden setting. Very welcoming staff. Clean, basic room with private bath. There is also a small swimming pool nestled within the garden. Very secure. You get your own key to the entrance door from the street.
Nothing really. There is no restaurant but the hotel is next to a very large restaurant and many other places to eat . You can bring food back and warm it up in their kitchen.

This is the second time I've stayed at Casa Josefa. The staff if friendly, the gardens are beautiful, the property is well maintained and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a community kitchen located alongside the swimming pool. This hotel is located in the center of town so there is alot of busy street noise but it does calm down after 10pm. Great wifi too!
We didn't have hot water for showers. The electric heater attachment was not working. I know the staff would have fixed it but noone was around in the early morning to report it to.
