Chilly evenings meant we made use of the woodburning fire. Fantastic! Stairs very precarious and not at all suitable with anyone who has even slightly reduced mobility.

The cottage is in a great location, with a nice view of the church, and an easy uphill walk to the town. I was expecting the cottage to be cosy and quirky but, sadly, it was more shabby and could do with a facelift.

Lovely cottage in a great location , peaceful yet 5 mins walk of town and all amenities. Would highly recommend this cottage and Cotswold hideaways really helpful and polite , only couple of points need improvement the fridge is very noisy when the compressor kicks in and for the type of accommodation some better quality plates and cutlery would complete the experience, but that said would go back as only an improvement suggestion

Humphrey (terrier) and I had a comfortable stay at Church Cottage. Very convenient for town (literally a two minute walk) and The Theatre. Lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. The kitchen had everything I needed. My only gripe was a loathsome plug-in air freshener in the sitting room - fire hazard and overpowering - but that's just my personal opinion about them. Fortunately the weather was lovely so we could spend time sitting out in the (secure) front garden, listening to the church bells, sipping and eating the Cotswold goodies left out for us on arrival.

Church cottage was absolutely gorgeous, situated next the beautiful st Mary’s church and a 2 minute walk to local shops pubs restaurants. The location is perfect to visit local attractions. The property was clean smelt lovely and perfect with all amenities, a lovely welcome back of Cotswolds tea, coffee rapeseed oil eggs and biscuits. We will definitely be returning.

Church Cottage is in a great, quiet location, overlooking the beautiful Parish Church of St Mary’s. The property is small (no washing machine but has dishwasher) but ample size for one person or a couple as it has a King sized bed, (I found the mattress a little hard for my liking but it is personal taste). It’s an easy 5 minute walk into town, with a selection of places to eat. There is much to see and do in this lovely part of the land including some circular walks from the cottage door step. Church Cottage fitted our needs for a long weekend and we are happy to recommend it.

We did appreciate being at the cottage. As a place to stay it had a certain charm and quirkiness, which we enjoyed but below some of our observations that if addressed could enhance what is on offer even more.  We had an overall impression that things were a bit tired -  small things like stained old tablemats, stained coffee mugs and plates, a microwave  oven with patches of rust. There was a damp aroma in the cottage and mould in the bathroom where the shower screen connected to the wall.  Only half of a small wardrobe was available to us with too few coat hangers.  Combined these things gave an overall impression of a lower standard than other HPB properties we have used. We found the property through HPB though we booked directly with Cotswolds Hideaways as our dates did not appear available via HPB. We were advised as to parking being available adjacent to the property. In reality there is no designated parking. It is a busy corner with the Church parish rooms adjoining the cottage. So a parking space is not a given. These observations are NOT designed to negate this lovely property but rather to enhance it and are offered in that spirit.

A very sweet little cottage in an excellent location. It was very warm & cosy and just right for a short stay. Lots of quirky features like the kitchen & upstairs windows. Very steep stairs and creaky wooden floors. Wouldn’t suit someone with any mobility issues! Loved that it overlooked the church but a bit disconcerting that people park/walk right past the sitting room windows. We kept the shutters half closed for privacy sake. Also parking in Church Street was a bit heart stopping as it is narrow and most of the residents park on the lane. That said we did manage to find a space close to the cottage each day when we returned from our explorations! Not sure how easy that might be in high season. Great pubs within a few minutes walk, especially the Blue Boar.
