It was absolutely beautiful!! Great facilities and location for our stay. Had some great touches!
Nothing!

Good size for two
Smell of fuel coming up from the drain in the shower
4.7
Great for two people, lots of space, well decorated and very clean, central location too.
Repair garage across the road which was a bit noisy at times, but we weren't in during the day so not a big problem.
4.7
Fabulous house, beautifully decorated with everything we needed and more and in a perfect location to explore the island
4.7
Lovely spacious bedroom and lounge area well equipped
Garden needed attention. No suitable private outdoor space to sit and furniture outside was old and tired .
4.7
Felt spacious! Ideal location - walking distance to Douglas. Well equipped.
Easy check on
Parking not ideal. Directions could have been better. Post code didn’t work in sat nav

The location is great, the interior layout is good, and it has everything you need for a great stay. Nice walk down to the sea, and good local buses.
There's nothing to find fault with, I have a spider phobia, so I had a few shocks, haha.
4.7
Very well set out inside with everything needed for self catering.

This is a tastefully decorated and very well equipped cottage with very up-to-date technology. Everything was of very good quality. The bed was big and comfortable, the shower roomy and efficient and there was ample drawer/hanging space. We also liked the sofa and the lighting was good for reading. We appreciated the condiments and oil and the bits and pieces in the store cupboard. There were good transport links to the centre of town and a well-stocked supermarket very nearby. The location was completely quiet overnight. We found it a perfect base from which to explore the whole island.
Because of the repair garage opposite, it was not always possible to park easily - but that problem disappeared as soon as the working day was over!
4.7
Lovely property with plenty of space. The location was great with access to a shop and several bus route to choose from giving ready access to anywhere on the island.
The garden could do with tidying up, but it was a nice area to sit out in the evening.
4.7
well presented modern interior with everything provided that you could possibly want.
We got a shock to find that the property was directly opposite a repair garage but it wasn’t a problem really as this didn’t cause any significant noise issues and it was only open Monday to Friday.
We parked our car on the one way road directly outside the house without issue as there was always a space there.
The owners had told us about the honey bees nest in the front left hand gutter area before we arrived and although it was a concern they didn’t enter the property.

Welch House is a lovely house situated in a beautiful area on the Isle of Man and is ideal for 2 people looking for a great spot to travel around.
We walked into Douglas almost on a daily basis and found multiple different routes all taking around 35 - 40 minutes which was ideal.
The house itself was decorated to a very high standard, all the items provided for use were great including the music system which was nice to sit and listen to in the evening.
Toiletries were a nice little extra which made it feel nice and homely and the under floor heating was brilliant to take off the chill in the evening.
The satellite TV did not work but a Chromecast has been provided which came in handy so we could still watch movies etc.
I would like to say there was no buts with this property...BUT there are a few points which if we are honest did take away from the holiday and place - we aren't certain we would say it wasn't complete value for money even though we did have an amazing time on the Isle of Man.
1) If you want a lie-in then don't expect one - directly across the road from the house is a car garage which had us up most days at 7.30am - 8am with the beep of the forklift or the sounds of a horn. Not ideal when you are on holiday.
2) With the above in mind this caused an issue with parking outside the front - on arrival to the property there were multiple part cars parked (smashed cars essentially) all up the street, as well as employees, as well as other residents, this meant we had to park up the road and round the corner which made getting our stuff into the property fun.
3) When we did manage to get a parking space to the front of the house, our car was slightly scratched due to limited pavement and as there is a park next door which was a busy dog walking spot, people walked past close to the car and the car got scratched.
4) If you are scared of bees or allergic, this is not the house for you. We were told of a bees nest to the side of the house the week before after we had paid for the property - it was very active in the day - luckily we were not too bothered but it did mean you couldn't sit out when the weather was good.
5) On arrival we were told that the bottom cooker doesn't work as it's awaiting a part - again we were ok with this but it did mean some meals were cooked in parts.

Very well equipped and distinctive property, clean and comfortable throughout. Well located for exploring the island.
There wasn't really anything to dislike - just look out for the low ceiling beams over the bed!
4.7
Great property, short drive from Ferry Terminal.. Everything we could need was on offer, stayed 6 nights so was nice to have a homely feel over a hotel room.. House spotless on arrival and property opened up for us to walk straight in on arrival.. Good range of Dvds alongside the TV offering..
Good communication in advance regarding a bees nest, wasn't an issue but good to know in advance and they were never an issue as not too close to the front door
Towels were listed as available, arrived to only find hand towels and when we asked the owner confirmed this was all that was on offer.. Expected to be a larger towel offering or if told in advance we could of brought out own..
4.7
Lots of facilities and little, thoughtful extras. Nicely converted from a former school-house
wifi dropped out so needed rebooting a few times. parking was on the road; not always space available outside the property
4.7
The property was well equipped and clean. It was warm and comfortable. Everything that we needed was there including toiletries. The location was good being close to many amenities and was ideal as a base to explore the island. I would certainly stay there again.
There was nothing that I disliked

The property was very well equipped and was on a great bus route which helped us get around. The property was perfect except for the bed.
The mattress really needs to be replaced we had the most uncomfortable nights sleeps whilst we were there. The middle of the mattress feels like it’s collapsed so you roll into the middle and get a back full of springs.
4.7
Absolutely lovely property right in the heart of Onchan. We especially appreciated that the hosts left us a few provisions as our flight was delayed and we got in rather late. We also loved the little nature preserve located behind the property.

Brilliant place to stay

Unfortunately it rained most of the week we were there, but we still managed to get around indoor places in our car. When we didn't get out, it was really comfortable inside the house. A real home from home. Situated conveniently to get around the island.
The bed was listed as an extra large double (super king), but was only a large double (king-size).
4.7
Immaculately presented and spotlessly clean.
Fully equipped kitchen with oven hob microwave dishwasher and washing machine.
Soap, dishwashing tablets, and toilet rolls provided.
Comfortable dining and lounge area.
Non reserved but always available parking outside the front gate.
Pub and Coop within walking distance.
A good location for exploring the island however not a picturesque one as situated within a town but no issues with noise even though a garage is directly opposite.
Would rebook if we ever return to the Island.
Bees nest in the roof guttering which did not cause us any problems however it was not something we were informed about until after the payment was made. I think however people should be aware before booking in case of allergies and if it was the height of summer I would have been wary of opening windows.
Tea, coffee and sugar (no milk) provided but nothing else, this is the first time I have ever rented a cottage and not received a welcome basket so don’t forget to stop on the way for the essentials.
No full length mirror which would have been useful.
Slightly weird open plan upstairs layout with shower in the bedroom.
Towels are provided but very small so I’d advise taking at least one with you.
Absolutely no contact from the hosts during the stay (no follow up message either), keys were left on the table prior to us arriving and an instruction booklet for the appliances, we were provided with a contact number for emergencies but a message through Booking to check all was ok would have been nice.

We loved all of it. The property was first rate, clean and very well presented. It could not have been any better, we loved it x
Nothing, it was all great
4.7
The location of the property was central to shops pubs and a 5min drive to the town center.
Fantastic location even if your not driving the bus stops at the end of the street.
The street itself is just like something off a film it was so peaceful.
Everything was provided that you would need for your stay hands down one of the best places we have ever stayed it needs to be seen to be believed.
Only issue we had was with the Internet it was very temperamental and would only work when it wanted to....this was not much of an issue as we only really used it now and then.

Beautiful, tasteful, so much nicer than staying in a hotel
Nothing just perfect

The location was excellent - our family live nearby. Parking was no problem. Shops nearby.

A truly unique and special property. The house is beautifully presented and very comfortable with generous provision of basic cleaning and washing products and a well provisioned kitchen for cooking in. We stayed during a terrible storm and the house was cosy and warm- underfloor heating and radiators. The property has very good linen and furnishings. The kitchen has 2 ovens and a microwave and dishwasher and washer dryer and plenty of crockery etc. The owner was very responsive and helpful. No designated parking but we parked outside the door every day without a problem.
We would definitely return and highly recommend this property.
