Quaint and cozy

We really liked the location of the house. The location was in distance from several other cities we visited over our stay. We also liked view of the river overlooking the deck. It was very peaceful and nice to not be surrounded by noise and people.

The ceiling, in the bedroom more so, looked like it was pulling down from the top of the house and the floors seemed either kind of sunken in or uneven. It just gave the feeling of the house was falling in. You could tell there has been work done to the house, so we assumed that maybe it was an ongoing process hopefully. The drive way was a little awkward pulling in and out of as well. Felt like we were going to get hit by other cars when pulling in and out, but we mostly wanted to make sure none of the under carriage of the smaller SUV was going to scrap where the road and driveway met.

Amazing location for enjoying the great outdoors!

This house is right on the river with easy access for fishing. We absolutely loved the location of the house and enjoyed the hot tub at the end of every day. We also loved having a fire pit and grill.

Although the kitchen has a lot of items provided, you still need to bring a few things. There was only a Keurig machine with no K-cups provided. The reusable filters had holes in them. Although there was an oven, there were no pans or cookie sheets to use in the oven. The main bedroom had a weird musty smell, which made the bedding stink. Perhaps the house had been vacant for a bit. The house is older and not perfect (carpet stains, old furniture), but overall we had a great trip.

The location was good.

The towels did not seem fresh. Some were not clean. I didn’t like the fact that we were expected to take the sheets off the beds and all the towels to the laundry facility in the crawl space/basement. I paid a hefty cleaning fee, so I should not be expected to do the laundry. And I would prefer to know that the towels and sheets were professionally cleaned … not just assume the last guest used detergent and hot water. The location of the washer and dryer is not a place guests should be expected to go. It smelled horrible and the light switch is very inconveniently located several feet from the door.

It was a last minute look up and boy were we glad.it was the cutess adorable place for 2 people. And the river running was so relaxing

The only thing was there are ants on counter and table in kitchen I had to keep all my snacks in frig

The property is dated. It was a bit dusty. The windows are old and the some screens were missing. The kitchen table chairs are unstable.

Great location! Beautiful view of the river! Plenty of outdoor space w/ hot tub and fire pit!

Great location! 10 minutes from WCU, where we were visiting our daughter for the weekend. Loved being right along the river. Enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit! Just enough space for all 3 of us. I've seen many comments on the size of the bathroom, and while it is small, it serves its purpose for the few times you need it, lol! An exhaust vent would help get the moisture out and help prevent the ceiling from peeling. Although neither of those things are a deal breaker for another stay here. It was cozy in a good way! If you want a big cabin, there are plenty of choices, but if you don't need all of the frills, this is the perfect place to stay!

The location of the fire pit needs to come back al little bit from the edge of the river and over from the pavillion, so that you have more space to actually sit around it. The drive way is a little tricky, because it is so steep, and it's right at a turn on River Road, so you really have to take your time going in and out of it.

Very good

The home was very clean and ín a great location. Just the right size for 2 people. The river was great for fishing and we enjoyed the deck, the firepit, and the picnic table.

A lot of traffic and the home is in a deep curve so be careful pulling out. Be prepared for fishing guides to park their boats right in front of the cabin for long periods of time.

Very good

It is right on the river with great fly fishing. The house is quaint and just the right size for 2 people. Linens were fresh. The kitchen is appointed with appropriate pots, dishes, etc.. There is a great covered area with a nice picnic table for outside dining and changing in/out of waders.

It would behoove the owner to install an exhaust fan in the bathroom/shower. The house is quaint which means the bathroom is tiny. Steam from the shower is affecting the paint on the ceiling causing it to peel.

We needed a beautiful, convenient place to relax & unwind & we found it in our stay at Romance Retre

Location was GREAT! View was GREAT! There was no breakfast included BUT there was a full kitchen with EVERYTHING we could possibly need to make our own meals. It was clean & inviting. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to Romance Retreat! Thank you!

The ONLY thing that could improve this property, in our opinion, would be a shade or something to make the hot tub a little more private....I felt a bit exposed. Also, my husband added that a hammock would've been awesome.

HOT TUB DOES NOT WORK! Extremely small bathroom. Bed sucks

River was beautiful

Hot tub does not work. Begged for help to repair as it was the main reason I rented this cabin in the location I did. They offered 50 credit after my arrival to the Cabin so tells me they obviously knew it did not work prior to my reservation. Complete devastation. Bathroom is extremely small. Bed has holes where previous use has wore it out. The bathroom has no ventilation so the ceiling is cracking pieces hanging down.
