About this house rental
'Back Beach Cottages' is a unique property with a two cottage set up. Both houses have wonderful views of the ocean and share a private yard/ garden.
The property offers the best of both worlds in that it's an ideal location for enjoying a quiet beach while also only being a 10-minute walk to downtown Rockport.
The property is steps away from Back Beach and a 5-minute walk to Front Beach. The property comes with 2 off street parking spots in driveway.
Property has Tesla Charger (220V).
Some details on each of the houses: The 'Main House' has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms; a master bedroom with queen sized bed and en suite bathroom. The Main House second bedroom has 2 twin beds.
The Main House has an open kitchen/dining room and a living room with bay windows that look out to the ocean.
The Back Cottage is located just behind the Main House and has 1 Bedroom on the second floor (up a set of spiral stairs). The bedroom has a king sized bed. There is a deck located off of bedroom with views of the ocean. The Back Cottage has a galley kitchen, stove, and refrigerator (no dishwasher), and bathroom. The couch on the first level in Back Cottage has a double pullout bed for additional guests. (2) Wonderful views of the ocean from bedroom and balcony off of the bedroom.
Every Sunday in the summer the town band gives a concert at the bandstand in front of the house in the evening. You can hear the music and see the performance from the house and yard and makes for a wonderful evening. This takes place 1-2 nights a week in June, July and Aug.

This was a lovely and comfortable place to stay for a low-key vacation by the beach in beautiful Rockport. The two cottages that share a garden was the perfect setup for traveling with different family units. The place is fully stocked with toys and fun for kids. It was an easy and short walk to the beach every day, as well as to the shops! We’ll always remember the live music from the bandstand on Sunday and Monday nights. Very hospitable and communicative hosts. Hope to be back one day!

Had a great time. The front deck views are great. We are outside often at one of the 3 seating locations outside. The kids (age 7 and 10) played with all sorts of toys from the activity shed and it was great to have a wagon to transport gear to the beach. Onsite kitchen is stocked and laundry was nice to have in the unit. Hosts were great, very responsive. Only caution is the guest house spiral staircase is tight and was a little challenging for parents who are “young” retirees. Great experience overall!

We had a great vacation. Having two houses on the same property was great.
The yard space was really nice to have with kids. Just a short walk to front beach and had all the beach equipment we needed. The band played in the gazebo right across the street and we were able to watch from the deck. Would definitely recommend this rental especially for those with children.

The Back Beach cottages were the perfect location for my family to enjoy a weekend in Rockport. Located across the street from Back Beach, a 5 minute walk to Front Beach and another 5 minute walk to the shops made it very easy to enjoy the amenities Rockport has to offer. The cottages were clean and furnished with very comfortable beds and the most amazing couch in the main house. The spiral staircase in the back cottage is quite narrow and might be difficult for small children or elderly guests, but was not an issue for us. Meghan and Mike were very gracious hosts who had a thoroughly prepared binder of information for guests which anticipated and answered any questions we might have. We would definitely stay here again for a Rockport vacation!

Meghan and Mike were excellent hosts. They were warm, welcoming, and gracious. There was great communication for the few questions I had. The home was fabulous. Clean, modern, spectacular views. The book of information they put together was easy to understand. We appreciate the special treats they left. We will be rebooking.

We rented this house a bachelorette weekend, and I we we could have stayed longer. The house was clean and well stocked. It was in a great location and the hosts were responsive and accommodating. I would highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable place right next to the beach.

Our whole family had a fantastic week at Back Beach cottages! The two cottages were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for all our needs and accommodated our extended family nicely. We enjoyed the water view and all the amenities this home has to offer. Being able to stay parked at the cottage and walk to the beach or into town was a real treat! Thank you Meghan & Mike for helping us provide a wonderful summer vacation for our children and grandchildren!

We appreciated all the organization & communication with the check in- the welcome book was so helpful and the fresh flowers made us feel so welcome. Everything was so clean. Organized and well kept. You can’t beat the views at the house and central location. We walked to front beach with all the kids in the wagon, spent rainy/cloudy days walking into town and the evenings we loved walking to back beach for photos, views after our s’mores by the fire. We were able to cook in easily with lots of amenities and the grill & fireplace were perfect. We loved the lawn games and the entire property. We could go on & on but for a family of 8 with children ranging from 2mo-5 the owners had lots of infant/ children amenities we used! Thank you Meaghan & Mike for a great week at the cottage! We hope to return next year!

I grew up going to Rockport as a child. I love going back to this house and cottage with my family now. It is very nostalgic. We had lots of fun! My granddaughter said her favorite thing was the beach and making S’mores!

Perfect seaside rental.
We loved our week at Back Beach Cottages. The space was perfect for an extended family group of 8. The ocean views and the sound of the surf were an added bonus to the lovely and thoughtfully equipped cottages. Meghan is an excellent and attentive host. We look forward to a return visit!

Perfect location for a family of 6 - surprisingly quiet for being so close to the road. Clean, comfortable and a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed our stay at Back Beach Cottages immensely. The beach front location in downtown Rockport is perfect and the cottages are very nicely furnished. We will most likely be back sometime in the future! :)

Absolutely loved Rockport and this fabulous accommodation, which was perfect for our needs. It's position is superb too and we really enjoyed the two bandstand nights that were literally on the front doorstep!
We received a very warm welcome from the cleaning ladies when we arrived and were delighted at how homely the house was. The garden was beautiful too and very well cared for.
The beds were very comfortable and the Back House bedroom view was fantastic. My sister has photos to follow!
Everything we needed was there and we made good use of the bikes and kayaks.
I loved the washing machine and dryer too!!!
Would highly recommend this property to everyone and as a footnote must add that we came over on holiday from England and booking this property was easy to do from this end.
Thank you and I do hope, one day, we will be back.

What a perfect gathering place for family/friends!
We came together for a family reunion - 3 generations. The set up of 2 places was perfect and both the main house and the guest house were lovely and had everything we needed and more. Being across from the ocean and then also having the bandstand for our entertainment was an added bonus. The yard with outside seating and eating area with trees for shade was really nice and we used it most of the time when we weren't at the beach or in town. The best thing for all of us was not having to take our cars out and being able to walk everywhere. Kids and adults made the most of this wonderful week. We all loved it and would come back again in a heartbeat. Thanks for letting us make this a memorable vacation!

Wonderful home base for a fantastic wedding weekend!
We stayed here for 10 days, and the property was fantastic. My parents stayed in the back cottage, which had everything they needed (including a kitchen), and my fiancée and I stayed in the front cottage with our two kids. We had everything we needed; we easily walked to town; the beach is across the street; and the views from the house were awesome! The outdoor seating (and grill) were also fantastic - we had friends over for a BBQ in the yard, and it was perfect. Thank you for an amazing stay! We home to be back.

Great location with fabulous yard and views
House was a lovely beach cottage which accommodated my family of older kids and grandchild in the main house and my husband and me in the back house. Best part was the location and the yard, and the main house family room and dining room attached to the kitchen provided a big enough space for the 7 of us to hang out on the days it rained. Great look for the space too with nice TV. I would be aware that the back house master bedroom, though very lovely, is upstairs and connected to the main floor where the bathroom is by a very narrow (dangerous for small kids) spiral staircase. A bit of a challenge carrying up heavy suitcases and then for night trips to the bathroom. Also be aware that dawn happens early with the sun shining thru to the bedroom around 5 am! Though the kitchen had needed dishes for cooking, I would suggest bringing your own knives for food prep (ones I could find were more steak knives) and not planning on precise baking as the old fashion oven (though great looking) is very hard to set and maintain temperature and burned my brownies! We never used the bikes or kayaks but they looked in great condition and wish we had the chance. Nice off street parking for our 2 cars and we enjoyed the heated outdoor shower for rinsing off after our beach days. WiFi in front house worked great too, slow in the back house. Home was kept clean and very easy to work with the owners. Great rental.

Oh, New England!
This house was lovely and everything we needed. My boyfriend and I traveled here with my brother and his wife. We took the small back house and they took the larger front house. It was just the right amount of privacy and space. The walk to Rockport is under 5 minutes and is very scenic, passing an old cemetery, beautiful Inn's, and the beach along the coast. All the amenities you could need are here and the host was more than helpful if we needed something. I highly recommend renting this place. It has a a perfect ocean front view and the balcony off of the smaller back house has a truly spectacular view. Very close to Gloucester, Salem and a quick drive to Boston as well. Thank you! We look forward to booking again next year.

This property really was fantastic. The views from the property were amazing and the proximity to town was extremely convenient. Both houses were very clean and well stocked with supplies and amentities, which made our stay most comfortable. Our group loved the bikes as well... expecially the light blue one!!! Meghan was a fantastic host who was always very responsive. We can't wait to return next year!!!!

Location and classic beach chic!
Just back from a wonderful week at Back Beach cottages. The property is great for mixed groups that move at different speeds--my older kids slept in, while little cousin in the back cottage could be up eating breakfast at the crack of dawn, then everyone together for dinner in the big house kitchen or on the patio. For once, when the description said quick walk to the good beach they weren't exaggerating! Nobody complained!!! And the beach across the street, while rocky, is a luxury when you just want to sit out in the morning with a cup of coffee and a good book. We enjoyed the bikes, lawn games, and Sunday night concert. Never got around to using the kayaks but they looked great. The house has anything you could possibly need. Only two caveats: Back cottage has a spiral staircase which might be a little scary to navigate so assign bedrooms accordingly and we struggled the one night we wanted to watch TV in the big house. Great directions for everything else but maybe a little help for people who aren't used to cable tv and lots of remotes! Loved this rental. Thanks Meghan!

Charming and Very Accommodating Hosts
These cottages are well-appointed and perfect for larger groups. Our extended family stayed here for a week (5 adults and 4 children) and we all had great fun. The back house has a spiral staircase to the second floor that the kids enjoyed climbing. Both houses have fully-equipped kitchens and good/large tables for game-playing. Both have have wonderful views across the road to the water (but better from the front house, naturally). It's about a 10 minute walk into the charming town of Rockport; the walk is right along the water and shops, and we highly recommend it.
We had a slight problem with the property, and Meghan was very gracious and gave us a partial refund that compensated us for the inconvenience. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely return the next time we are in Rockport.

Magical Place
My famiy stayed here for the week of 4th of July and it was fantastic. The home was very well kept and clean. There was plenty of room and the location was perfect. We enjoy kayaking and were able to put in right across from the home. Most days we strolled to Bear Skin Neck for breakfast, a book, to see some shops, or just for the view. We were able to spend just enough time on the beach without having to deal with parking or traffic. We also enjoyed the 4th of July festivities. I would highy recommend this rental it is perfect for people with young, teen or older children. It is also perfect for couples. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
