The apartment is exactly as described. Clean, nice furniture and decoration and a kitchen you can easily and perfectly use for all your cooking ideas. Sandy and Michael are perfect hosts, always instantly available. They not only showed how willing they are to help for all needs with the property but even for a few private things we had to solve.
No need to worry at all about location being in Harlem. The neighborhood is bustling and lively but even if you return late as we did on a lot of evenings we always felt safe. The subway is just 2 blocks away. Good laundromats 2 blocks away with full drop off pick up service for just a few dollars.
We had a perfect month thanks to this property and their owners.

My wife and I stayed 30 days in Michael and Sandy's apartment during October/November 2023. The unit was well-maintained and secure, and the hosts were very helpful and responsive. No problems at all, good advice if we asked, and wonderful proximity to retail and subway lines 2 and 3. We have stayed in the area before and enjoy it enough to keep returning. Having responsive hosts makes the decision easier and Michael and Sandy are as helpful as we can imagine. Thanks! CND

We quickly settled in to Michael and Sandi's very comfortable apartment. It has everything we needed. Importantly it was the perfect location from where public transport conveniently took us all over the city. Our hosts were easily contacted when we needed information too. So we are very happy to recommend this spacious accommodation.

Wonderful first floor unit with all the conveniences. Clean, quiet, and close to subway. Lively neighborhood. Lots of eateries and convenient to groceries. Sandy and Michael are super hosts. Attentive and friendly. Amid all the attractions and history of Harlem, and close to TImes Square. We loved it and would definitely come back.

Wonderful Hosts and Perfect Stay!
Michael and Sandy are the kindest and friendliest hosts. They were very welcoming during the check-in process and throughout my entire stay. Being new to the city, their advice and tips on how to navigate the city were invaluable. Both were also readily available to answer any questions I had about the apartment and the neighborhood. They have put in a lot of thought to making sure every guest has a comfortable stay. I stayed at this apartment 3 months and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
The apartment was extremely clean and spacious, with tons of storage space. The kitchen had all of the essentials plus more. (Plenty of food options available within walking distance if cooking is not your thing!). There is a Whole Foods and CVS within walking distance to pick up anything else. The bedroom is located in the back of the apartment and extremely quiet.
Traveling to other parts of the city from the apartment was no issue since the subway station and many public buses are located within a very short walk (less than 2 minutes). The location of this place is extremely convenient.
I would 100% recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place to stay in New York City. Michael and Sandy: Thank you again. I look forward to my next stay!

The apartment is comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The hosts were anxious to please and were most helpful. I highly recommend this as a great place to stay!

Michael & Sandy are by far the best hosts I have ever had
Michael and Sandy were very helpful during my stay in New York. They were always there to answer questions and give recommendations. I stayed for 2 months and felt at home upon arrival. Being a female from the mid west I felt very safe and everything was within walking distance. The apartment was very clean and cozy. I loved my stay and would definitely come back. I highly recommend this apartment! You couldn't ask for a better host during your NYC stay.

Wonderful hosts
Mike and Sandy really were perfect hosts. My fiancé and I were in for a month long stay. We were greeted with a nice bottle of wine and a quick tour. The apartment was clean, spacious and as pictured. They provided a helpful welcome binder and plenty of literature on the local scene. The bed was comfortable. The apartment was stocked with all the start-off essentials plus some (clean linens, toiletries, cupboard items, etc.). Mike and Sandy live right above and were immediately responsive when needed, but were in no way whatsoever intrusive of our space. Highly recommend, and would certainly stay again.

Great host, clean room
Mike and Sandy are the best hosts ever. They are so helpful to accommodate our needs. The place is very clean, conveniently located, close to subway stops and grocery market. Ideal for long term stay.

Great hosts and location!
We were in NYC for the birth of a grandchild. Our daughter's apartment is just around the corner, so the location was perfect for that (Whole Foods!), but it was also very convenient for transportation to all the other activities that NYC has to offer; we also went to plays, museums, the US Open!
The apartment is very clean and offered amenities to make our six-week stay very comfortable. Michael was available and very responsive at all times!
Thanks for a wonderful stay!

My boyfriend & I stayed at this apartment for 2 months. It was more than we could have hoped for. The pricing is EXTREMELY reasonable compared to other housing options in NY. The apartment was huge by NY standards with everything we could have ever needed for a true home away from home (large living room & kitchen fully stocked with appliances, large closets, A/C, etc.). The subway is right around the corner (2-3 minute walk at most) which kept our morning commute to work simple & quick. Even if you aren’t traveling for work purposes, the subway is so close that it takes the hassle out of traveling anywhere in the city. The apartment is also only 1 block from a Whole Foods, CVS, Starbucks, & countless dining options. Another thing to mention is that Central Park was only a short walk 10 minute stroll away. Michael & Sandy were awesome hosts. They were very kind & available by text/call if we needed anything. I would 100% recommend this apartment for anyone who would like to stay in a place where they feel safe & at home in the big Apple.

Wonderful apartment with marvelous hosts!
This apartment was clean, spacious, and in a great location with access to the metro and Whole Foods. Sandy and Michael were excellent hosts- very welcoming and accessible at all times. We would highly recommend this apartment to those visiting NYC!

Our favorite place to stay in NYC
This was our 2nd time to stay at Michael and Sandy's VRBO property, and we will plan to stay there each time we visit NYC, if it is available. The property is very clean and well-maintained, very spacious and nicely and comfortably furnished, and in a great location. Sandy and Michael are very responsive to all communications, questions, requests, etc. They aren't intrusive at all, but they are available when needed. We have had 2 great stays at this property and look forward to many more.

Amazing
We were at first reluctant to stay in Harlem, HOWEVER, this apartment was awesome, Michael was awesome to work with, and we loved being in such a historical place. Great places to eat, so much history in this area.. We would definitely stay there again and again... Thanks so much, Michael and Sandy...

Location. Location. Location.
This is our second stay in this great apartment. The apartment is very close to great restaurants, groceries and the subway. The hosts are very accessible and keep the apartment clean, well maintained and homey with everything you need for a stay. We’ll be back.

Great, hospitable hosts
Michael and Sandy are great hosts, who care about the condition of their apartment, are helpful and available should anything go amiss, and welcome you with fruit and wine. The apartment is very convenient to transportation--a short 2 blocks to the subway--and to Whole Foods and a Starbucks if you need a fix. (they also supply coffee in the cabinets) The bedroom, in back, is surprisingly quiet for NYC. In short, this is a fine place to stay, and deserves its ratings.

Great host, good location and the apartment was everything we needed
Michael is a very good host. He waited for us with small details that make the difference and he was available (by WhatsApp) at any time. The apartment is exactly what you see on the page: it was clean and it is very quiet. In it you can find everything you need, even an incredible Colombian export coffee. We hope to return to NY soon and use your apartment. Thanks Michael and send Sandy our regards.

Nice spot in Harlem
This apt. was great place to get a different perspective of NYC. Great amenities all around and easy subway access for major lines. Michael & Sandy greeted us and made sure we were comfortable. We were unable to make it to Sylvia's for soul food but will include next time. Lenox Saphire had freshly baked goods right across the street! we enjoyed that daily. Apt. was roomy enough for the 2 of us and the owners had a nice bowl of fruit for us to enjoy during our stay. Would recommend this apt. to others for sure.

Fantastic Stay!
We had a great stay at Michael and Sandy's apartment! There were three of us staying, and the apartment felt large and spacious for all of us. It is very clean. The bed and pull out were very comfortable. It was so close and easy to walk to the metro station, and easy to go anywhere in the city. The neighborhood was great and had some fun restaurants right around the corner. There is a Whole Foods Market two blocks away!
Michael and Sandy were amazing. They were both so welcoming, and full of information about things to do in the city. They were very attentive to anything we needed while staying in the apartment. I highly recommend their apartment and would love to stay here again if I make my way back to NYC!!!
4.8
Perfectly placed for a family stay in NYC.
The apartment is really well placed, less than 10 mins walk from one Harlem subway and 15 mins another line in the other direction. From those, its a straight subway ride south down green or red lines into central Manhattan.
Its a c.20-25 min walk down to the north end of Central Park.
There are a few good local restaurants within 10 mins of the apartment also(Il Café Latte for breakfast, Harlem Shake for burgers etc, and Cantina for a touch of Mexican...).
The owners live upstairs - which made contact for any queries easy. It was neat, tidy, with everything you would need for a family stay, with a full kitchen and good wifi. We used it as a base for a lot of exploring of NYC and have no hesitation to recommend it.
4.8
Fabulous! Lovely home and great location!
The location was fantastic! Residential, yet on the edge of a fun and active business district with a great variety of restaurants, coffee shops, a dance club and a little further away, great shopping!
The layout and decor of the space was clean, every detail taken care of and the owners were quite available for every need! We had a great time and the subway was near - so we bought week passes for the subway and buses and were able to explore Manhattan from top to bottom, Brooklyn, Ellis Island, Liberty Island and much more! Gracious host and hostess!

This is a great property well located to see what New York has to offer.
The property was as described and is well located to see New York. Our hosts were welcoming and shared their knowledge of New York. There a many great restaurants close by and there are some well stock grocery stores close by for those who want to self cater. The property was wonderful for us and allowed us to explore New York from a central location. The property is within a few minutes of a subway station that gives easy access to all of New York.

Wonderful brownstone apt
A real find in Harlem - location location -safe -super clean and only 15 min to Time Square by subway. The subway is just around the corner along with a large food store. Taxi's are readily available day and night. The apt is roomy with 1 bedroom well stocked kitchen & living room. Easy entrance only 4 stairs ! Micheal and Sandy were close by and very helpful. The bottle of wine and large bowl of fresh fruit was much appreciated. We will be back.
4.8
Fabulous apartment is a fabulouse neighborhood in Harlem.
Fabulous apartment is a fabulous neighborhood in Harlem. Apollo theater just a few blocks away. We went to the Apollo Amateur night, which is every Wednesday nigh. Great fun and affordable. Amazing restaurants. Subway just down block. Whole Foods. Loved staying in Harlem with all it's history. Michael was very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and can't wait to come again.
4.8
Great location with all the necessities
My family and I had a great stay in Michael and Sandy's apartment. The location is great- only a 2 minute walk to the Subway, and then a 10min ride to Time's Square. Some great restaurants are really close by- we really enjoyed BLVD Bistro, and Babbalucci- both less than a 5min walk. The north end of Central Park took about 25-30min to walk to from the apartment.
The unit was very comfortable, clean, and had all the necessities you'd need for a few nights stay. There were books and a binder full of NYC information and tourist things to do during your stay. Michael and Sandy also left a bottle of wine and fresh fruit for our enjoyment. It is definitely a more quiet location than staying directly in the heart of the city. We did take a taxi one day from Time's Square area and it was less than $20 to get back to the apartment, but the Subway is easy to navigate, cheap, and runs frequently.
Michael and Sandy were super friendly and very helpful during our stay. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends travelling to the area.

Excellent location, accommodations and hosts!
This was the second time that my cousin and I have stayed at this property. Our experience was just as great as last year’s stay. The apartment is clean, cozy, well equipped, spacious and a true “home away from home.” Mike greeted us and gave us wonderful dinner recommendations at Trip Advisor’s number 1 restaurant in NYC. The food at Sottocasa was absolutely delicious and the restaurant was very convenient to our apt. There are also all types of stores such as Whole Foods, Marshall’s, etc. a few blocks away! The subway station is also very close by.
If you are looking for a perfect place in NYC look no further! Stay at Mike and Sandy’s!!! We will be back!!

Great location, lovely apartment!
The property was wonderful! Very spacious for NYC, very clean, quiet, and all the amenities you need. The pull-put sofa was new and very comfortable for our son. The location was great - around the corners from Sylvia's and lots of other restaurants and very close to several different subway lines. Michael and Sandy were great, and we'd definitely stay here again when in the city!

A perfect place for NYC visit
This may be long so I'll first sum it up by saying that wife, daughter and I considered this a perfect place for a NYC visit and perhaps our best VRBO selection. The highlights:
--- Very quiet and private apartment that was spotlessly clean on arrival
--- Furnished and equipped as though hosts were to stay there instead of guests; even included Q-tips and nite-lights; air conditioning kept it comfortable despite two of New York's hottest days
--- Hosts Michael and Sandy were helpful, responsive and right upstairs; provided wine and fruit on our arrival; made checking in and out very easy
--- pictures are accurate except brown sofa replaced by very comfortable sleep sofa
--- perfect for two people but easily handles four; air mattress could take another; extra blankets and pillows; lots of closet space
--- terrific if you're hauling lots of luggage and stuff, just four steps and you're in
--- less than two blocks to major Harlem landmarks, subway station and reasonably priced parking garage; street parking was fine and free but you gotta be lucky to find a space
In conclusion, we would stay there again and have already recommended it to friends.

We could not have had a better experience!!! Everything about Michael and Sandy's apartment was great! Upon arriving, Sandy greeted us and showed us around the apartment, telling us to contact them if we needed anything. The apartment had tons of room and felt very clean, spacious, and comfortable.
Since we came for the marathon, I was hoping for good sleeps both before and after the race. My girlfriend and I stayed in the bedroom and it was the best bed we've both ever slept on, and there was absolutely no outside noise to disturb us. My mom slept on the pull-out sofa and slept great as well.
The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed and more. We cooked quite a bit, so it was super convenient to have a Whole Foods less than two short blocks away. There was also tea, coffee, fruit, spices, and a bottle of wine provided by Michael and Sandy. Wow!!!
The location of the apartment was perfect! We took a convenient bus ride from La Guardia Airport to their apartment. The bus stop is right near the Whole Foods, so it is a very short walk. The subway is also located right by the bus stop. We took trains our whole trip, so it was awesome to only have to walk about two minutes to and from the subway. There were also amazing restaurants within a few minutes of the apartment. Michael and Sandy gave us recommendations, and we were not disappointed. Babbalucci and Sottocasa were excellent!
Finally, Michael and Sandy could not have been better hosts! They are incredibly friendly and kind people! Upon finishing the marathon, Michael and Sandy both came down from their apartment above us to congratulate me and present me with a nice card and bottle of wine. That's right, another bottle of wine!!! Also, during the marathon, Sandy somehow recognized me and gave me that final push I needed to finish the marathon strong, and Michael took great photos of me running.
Obviously, we loved our stay and thought Michael and Sandy were amazing hosts! If you are ever heading to New York and staying in Harlem, this is the place to stay! You will not be disappointed!!! Thank you Michael and Sandy!!!

Stay 3 adults of 10 days in this very nice and very well equipped accommodation. We appreciated the space, the storage (large cupboards) and the cleanliness of the places.
Apartment in a small street just steps from Lenox Avenue, shopping (including a Whole Foods Market), and metro (express lines).
Mickaël and Sandy are very nice hosts, attentive to the well being of their tenants.
4.8
Comfortable, clean, nicely decorated, well maintained, shows pride in ownership. Hosts are on-site, very nice and responsive. Public transit close. Uber and Lyft always in the neighborhood.
4.8
This apartment is two blocks away from the subway station- you can't get much better than that in NYC! While you may or may not want to see the area the apartment is in, the subway is able to get you anywhere you want in the city in just a few minutes. My husband and I stayed here for a couple days and were able to see everything we wanted thanks to the nearby subway station, and our incredible hosts who met us in person upon arrival and made us feel at home immediately. Sandy answered all our questions, gave us recommendations and helped us to get oriented to NYC. The hosts are available promptly and take great pride in their property and hosting.
4.8
A friend and I visited New York for a week and Michael and Sandys's place was perfect! They are wonderful hosts and the apartment is so close to great restaurants and public transportation. It was a quiet and comfortable getaway to rest from the hustle of the city. I would stay here again, no question.
4.8
This is my 2nd year staying in this great apartment and I'm already counting down to my 3rd consecutive stay. The place truly has all the comforts and facilities, and Sandy and Michael are always at hand and happy to help with any requests. Harlem is fab, still retains a lot of its original character and offers a host of great bars and restaurants. Honestly cannot recommend enough - see you next year, guys!

We are two females from the middle of a cornfield in mid west Illinois. We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment when we were there and were very surprised that it was so quiet. The bed was very comfortable, and the pull out couch was as comfortable as a pull out couch can be. The apartment had every comfort of home. We also liked the outside door which locked automatically as well as a wooden door with a lock and dead-bolt. The subway was only 2 blocks away, and there were stores and restaurants nearby. As with any large city, you make subway mistakes and grab a cab. We also very much enjoyed Michael and wished we could have met Sandy. The neighborhood is being revitalized, and will only continue to get better. Don't know if we will ever be back to New York City, but we would definitely stay there again.
4.8
Michael and Sandy helpful with tips and orientation. Comfortable apartment. Great place to stay for a reasonable price in a very expensive city.

This apt of Michael and Sandy's is a gem in Harlem. From the moment we arrived we felt at home in this clean and cozy place! The hosts, Sandy and Michael, could not have been any more gracious and helpful to us throughout our stay! The apt. is located within walking distance to great restaurants (Sylvia's and Red Rooster), shops (Whole Foods, Marshalls, pharmacies, wine shops, etc.) The subway is a 5 minute walk away and you can get practically anywhere in Manhattan in a short period of time from there. Getting away from the touristy and hustle bustle of Midtown and other areas was a treat for us! We felt as if we were returning to our little home for a few days instead of a hotel room. In the apt Sandy and Michael have a variety of tour guides, maps, things to do booklets, etc. so we were always prepared for our next day of adventures in NYC! This apt is a hidden gem in a very upbeat and vibrant part of the city. I highly recommend staying here if you want a great experience in NYC! ( I am already planning to return with my daughter and/or husband next year!) I give this apt and the hosts both a 5+++!
4.8
Michael and Sandy truly went above and beyond in terms of hospitality - from providing complimentary fruit and wine to bringing additional amenities as needed and giving us guidance on how to best spend a limited amount of time (when we just had one last evening available but were needing to stay within a tight budget). The apartment was very clean, fully equipped in allowing us to prepare/eat meals there, and is conveniently located less than a half a block from Sylvia's (soul food eatery) and within a short walk to the subway and Whole Foods.
