Our family of 4 enjoyed out stay in this condo, but had no idea the 75+ stairs would be a daily issue. The owner is excellent and was super to work with for move in and he even happen to be there the day we arrived and helped us take our bags down the 100+ steps from the top. He dropped off the golf cart at the Catalina Express dock (extra charge) and it took the four of us with roller bags just fine back the 15 minute ride to the condo.
They advertise LOTS of Stairs, this is a 10 story condo with no elevators, so it is over 100 steps down from the top and 75+ steps up from the bottom. If you have any issue with steps or physical fitness, this will be a challenge. It took us a few good days to get use to the daily hike and we thought many times before we left and what we bought in town, since it was all being carried up steps.
Condo is fully remodeled, the building above the pool for the association. Condo is fully equipped with high end beds and furniture. Pull out couch is RH and very nice mattress. Get's great ocean breeze, awesome views and the patio/deck is very enjoyable. Coffee maker and Keurig was great and stocked with coffee. Even received a nice bottle of wine on arrival. The owner is great to communicate with on any issues. Lots of ocean and pool toys too. Golf cart was great for 4 and we used it daily. It really added to the trip. First time we have been in Avalon with a golf cart included.
Highly recommend it, but stairs = 4 stars.

I have been to Catalina before(Avalon) but never to Hamilton Cove. What a great find we made. Wish we knew about this years ago as we always stayed in a small hotel room in Avalon.
Rimas nailed it with his Villas here at the Cove. Well appointed with all the amenities you need. Spacious and comfortable is an understatement. Views of the Pacific that are breathtaking from the living room, dining room bedroom and the large deck.
We had friends stay in his two other units that were just as amazing as ours.
This location automatically drops your blood pressure when you arrive. If you have trouble sleeping you won’t here as the sound of the ocean waves are soothing to say the least. Put me right to sleep every night. Waking up each morning having coffee on the lanai is a must.
“Rimas”, is the superhost, offered us a cabana on the beach with a BBQ that was amazing. They cooked up assorted shish-kabobs and grilled shrimp along with a delicious charcuterie board.
Our friends that stayed with us cant stop talking how awesome this experience on the beach was.
Hamilton Cove is by far the best place to stay on the Island and we look forward to booking another trip here soon. We highly recommend staying at one of these Villas that Rimas offers.

The property is amazing and only a 10 minute beautiful drive to Avalon in the golf cart. Place is spacious and bright. Sunrises are beautiful.
The steps up to the condo are not easy but well worth it. The patio is sort of shared and we didn't see anyone else on it until the morning we were leaving. People seem to have a relaxed vibe on the island so it didn't bother us.
The view from the balcony is gorgeous and you can crack the window in the bedroom to hear the sounds of the waves.
Rimas was a great host and very informative as well as a bonus we were able to go to the museum. Very nice personal touches from Rimas. We appreciated it!

Long weekend getaway with my wife, the condo was perfect. Very comfortable and nice, beautifully decorated and well-equipped. The golf cart is in great shape and made access to the island convenient. The host was very responsive and provided all the info we needed to have a hassle-free stay.
The sweeping oceanfront views are amazing, and the unit is about halfway up the hill - several staircases to ascend but the higher you are the better the view. Plus it was good exercise. Very tranquil vibe, high enough to take it all in but just low enough to hear the gentle waves.
We spotted Catalina foxes and mule deer at dusk and in the evening returning from dinner and drinks in Avalon. The road is good, and Hamilton Cove is just far enough away from town for seclusion but is by no means an inconvenient drive.

First and foremost, Rimas was incredibly responsive which was most appreciated. From the views, the peace and quiet, the flexibility on check in/check out times, the cleanliness of the unit, the comfortable bed and bedding, and the use of the golf cart... We have NO complaints. Simply OUTSTANDING!! The only recommendation to be made might be to possibly provide use of bathrobes (especially during the winter months) for post pool/jacuzzi; OR, recommend to guests to bring their own robes. Honestly, that is the only thing we could possibly recommend. Rimas made sure that our stay (to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday weekend) was absolutely wonderful!! We would love to make a return visit!!

Very old and broken furniture . Very unprofessional , whoever book this condo make sure you take a picture of every little furniture , doors locks in there otherwise you will be blamed on right and left . I enjoyed the area very beautiful but the owner is very unprofessional.

Dislikes- No AC, didn't like large cleaning fee and had to clean our room ourselves according to the checkout rules..
and even tho my wife was feeling sick the cleaning lady wouldn't budge for a later check-out at 11am but still charged a large cleaning fee and we had to clean our own room under threat of charging a higher fee if she wasn't satisfied with how we cleaned ..we felt like we could't touch or move anything out of fear of being blamed for something and charged a high fee..
didn't like the LATE 4PM check-in/ or the early 10AM check-out..
didn't like that my in-laws couldn't come out to see our room because they weren't paying customers, not even to look or hang out for coffee ...make sure you read the rules before booking if you can't get a refund for cancellation..

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful VRBO for an extended weekend to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. The VRBO was clean and was exactly what we were looking for! The views are beautiful and the use of the golf cart made it so easy to go into town. The host is incredibly response and was great to us. We had a bottle of wine provided in the refrigerator to celebrate our special occasion.
The stairs were a lot but I was fine going down them. Coming up was much more of a chore so my husband would drop me at the top and then park the golf cart. But it wasn't something that would keep us from staying again.

This Hamilton Cove condo was a fantastic getaway for my husband and I! Views were beautiful and the condo was very well appointed! Use of the golf cart was a wonderful bonus! Most of all, we really appreciate the owner’s flexibility since the ferries back to the mainland were cancelled on the day we were scheduled to leave due to weather. We will definitely be back!

Great location, great views, and actually 9 less stairs than advertised (from cart parking space to villa). Villa is updated and well-appointed. Golf cart was great and fun to drive. Owner was very responsive and helpful day of check-in. Only (minor) dings are the faucets--all three are ridiculous and should be replaced. Bathroom sink faucets spray wildly and should be replaced with aerators. Kitchen sink faucet may just have built up hard water deposits. Top rack of dishwasher is missing. Other minor ding is that the plug for the golf cart does not always seat properly--wasn't plug and go for us ever, always had to play with it a bit to make sure it was properly seated for charging. But these are little things--very happy with our stay. Thank you!

Everything about the condo is great. This was my second time staying in the Hamilton Cove properties and its very nice. Lots of stairs going up but consider it your vacation workout.
This unit has a ring doorbell which is fine and it was clear that the owner saw when we entered to unit because I got a text message from him almost immediately after we entered - fine.
Here is what was not okay. I don't want to be surveilled on my vacation. I am 43 my husband and I were staying in this unit with our two young children. As I had told this owner it was a family vacation and other members of our family were in a different unit on the same property. My 78 year old father came up to look at the unit, I guess that was okay. However when my husband and I had my 18 year old niece (who happens to be black) came up to our room to watch her cousins for a few hours while we had some alone time I was immediately texted and accused of having extra people staying in our unit. Pretty creepy and also kind of racist. So if you are okay with someone watching your every movement then this would be a good choice for you.

Hamilton Cove is delightful and this condo has everything to offer. Well-furnished, very clean, and with sufficient amenities to make our stay very comfortable. Waking up to that gorgeous sunrise and enjoying morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine on the balcony was so soothing. With the included golf cart, we had the freedom to come and go as we pleased, see the sights, try many of the wonderful restaurants in town and enjoy the fun activities. Highly recommend for a long weekend getaway!

We stayed here for our 25 year anniversary and it did not disappoint. The private location away from the busy town is just what we were looking for. Amazing view, great amenities and an attentive host. The kitchen had everything we needed including a Keurig coffee maker plus a regular coffee maker. The BBQ came in handy too for a romantic dinner on the patio. We slept like babies in the comfy bed with the patio door open to hear the waves and breathe in the ocean air. We looking forward to staying again.

This property is beautiful and has a wonderful view of the water. It is well appointed, and Rimas was very responsive to all my questions and requests. Mind that there are a lot of steps to get to the door. My wife and I are in our forties and in good shape, and we were winded every time we would come and go. This is not for someone with bad knees or heart. The included golf cart is a must, as the development is about 2 miles from Avalon.

The condo is just lovely! Rimas was just outstanding to communicate with on our stay. There are a fews flights of stairs to get to the condo, however to view is worth the climb. We enjoyed our stay and loved the electric golf cart to get around town in. Next time we want to enjoy Catalina we will hopefully return to this lovely condo.

Absolutely loved this property for a nice weekend trip. My only tiny complaint would be that there should be more privacy on the balcony. Your neighbors can see you and you can see them. Other than that, that stay was amazing. Gorgeous views all the way around
