About this cottage rental
This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is one of 3 on this large wooded property. It was totally renovated in 2012 with cabin themed color and decor. This cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, the other has a full size bed. The full kitchen is well equipped to cook all your meals. In the living room is tv/cable, books, games, and internet. The bathroom has a small shower (no tub). In 2021 a screened front porch was added with a dining space and a lounging area. Outdoors is a flagstone patio with a firepit for those evening marshmallows and s'mores. And there is room in the yard for kids to play while you relax in the hammock. All of this just a few blocks from town and the Straights. You can walk to the waterfront, restaurants, shopping, ferries to the Mackinac Island, and live music. Short trips by car are to Petoskey, Wilderness State Park, Tunnel of Trees, and the UP (Oswald's Bear Ranch, Whitefish Point, Tahquemenon Falls, Sault Ste. Marie). Also, just minutes away is the Headlands with its Dark Sky Park- a great place to watch meteor showers. Families with young children or teens, couples, and business travelers would all enjoy a stay here.
If this is booked for the dates you’d like or if you are interested in waterfront a few miles from town, please checkout “Pointe West “on HomeAway. The address is Carp Lake, but the cottage is on Lake Michigan between Mackinaw City and Wilderness State Park.

The cottage was nice and cozy for myself and 3 kids. We had a nice time and we were able to walk most places. We enjoyed taking the ferry to the Island for a day. Thank you! Amy

We had a wonderful time. Accomodations were very nice. The description of the house was not accurate in that we were told to look for a yellow house with blue shutters. It was a blue house with brown shutters. We enjoyed our stay

We stayed here for four nights, it's a really beautiful place and walking distance to the main street. We loved the enclosed patio. The only thing we didn't like is the mattress in the inside bedroom. Everything else was perfect!

Went to visit Mackinac Island but stayed the nights here. Perfect size for 3 of us. Lovely screened porch, nice hot shower, all linens and towels provided. Quiet street but close to/easy drive or walk to town.

I can’t find one negative thing to say about this lovely place. Everything was just perfect. I love the special little touches and the screened in porch was where we spent most of our time. I would definitely come back.

overall, the cabin was nice, but there were some things lacking. Was told there would be firewood to purchase on site, there was not. Could not get DVD player to work...contacted owner and was told "other people change the buttons, I don't' know what to tell you". ALL of the furniture was incredibly uncomfortable at best. Was told the shower was small.... that was as UNDERSTATEMENT. It was so small you can't even bend over or lift your leg to wash your feet! the entire bathroom was small and very uncomfortable.
Didn't use the oven because there was rust on the bottom of door. It was pretty gross. There were restrictions on how much garbage you could leave, that was a new one. Also, we were expected to make sure there was enough toilet paper for the next person. We were left with one other roll for 5 days. We had to go buy more. Didn't think it was OUR job to provide for the next tenant. We were expected to wash all dishes and put them away, yet we had to wash all the dishes before we used them because they were dirty, especially the coffee maker (which was ANCIENT)
The screened in porch and outside area were very nice.

Enjoyed our stay, in spite of my friend breaking her wrist the first day. The cottage was perfect and close to shopping, restaurants, Dark Sky Park, and ferry to island. The hosts answered any questions we had right away....very good to work with!

If these cottage walls could talk... so much love and thought when into this place! Beautiful story (the owners left a book of their renovation process). We felt very blessed to be able to stay here. The screened in porch is the best - from early morning coffee, to late night hangouts. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well taken care of. Had everything we needed and more. Great location - we spent most of our time on the island and couldn't be happier with how close it was to the docks. This cottage stay really completed our Michigan getaway.

After camping in the U.P. for three nights, this little cottage was a perfect place to spend the second half of our week. Clean, cozy, and comfy.

Lovely stay in a very cute and comfortable cottage. Really enjoyed the history book the owners provided about the property! Awesome location to walk downtown, ride to the rail to trail bike paths, and drive to Lake Michigan beaches! We also have family on Paradise lake and it was an easy 10 minute drive to the lake. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!!

Our little family had an amazing stay at your home. The screened in porch was our favorite place to relax in, especially at night.

Great location! Was able to reserve all three cottages for the same weekend for a family wedding, which was at the Dark Sky Park only a few minutes drive! We all, including the bride and groom, had a wonderful time! Close walking location to Mackinaw City and the Fort. Very clean and convenient. Will use them again! Thank you!!!

We loved this cottage. It was close to everything! You could walk to restaurants and shops, even the ferry to Mackinac Island. It was so nicely designed and decorated. It was too chilly to enjoy the beautiful screened in porch but that is definitely a plus for this cottage! Owner’s response was timely and efficient!

We had a blast staying here for a long weekend! The house was easy to find, clean, and had everything we needed. It was close enough to downtown that we could have walked if we wanted to. We also loved the fire pit and the screened in porch would have been so nice to use during warmer weather nights.

The cottage was cozy and the perfect place to stay for our trip to Mackinaw City. It was an easy bike ride to the ferry to Mackinac Island. It was close to another bike trail the North Central Bike Trail, which we enjoyed a ride on. The screened in porch was lovely and due to the rain we had when we stayed, it was God send. It was close enough to easily walk to town and the fort but far enough away to be quiet. Also had restaurants that were with a block or two.
It was clean and the furnishing were nice. We enjoyed staying there. It is a very intimate space and was great for my husband and I to spend some time together. Since it was raining a lot, we spent more time in the cabin and it was a good size for us.
I could also see how this property with the other two cabins would work wonderfully for a larger group.
