This vacation rental welcomes up to two dogs per reservation year-round and for off-season monthly rentals.
With only two rows of houses, our end of Oak Island has spectacular wide-open views in a relaxed, quiet surround. The Picayne is a family home geared towards cooking, sharing meals, enjoying the gorgeous views, and spending time on the uncrowded beach. The Oak Island Lighthouse gently sweeps the night sky as it has done since the 1950s. The nearby town of Southport is nationally recognized for its charm. The Fort Fisher Aquarium is a short, fun ferry ride away. The public Oak Island Golf Club is just down the road. Caswell Beach has laid-back beach town charm with amenities and activities reflecting today's lifestyles. If you're lucky enough to see Loggerhead turtle hatch it will be an experience, you'll never forget.

Completely renovated well-equipped chef's kitchen with updated appliances including microwave drawer and separate beverage cooler. Ice maker downstairs. Two dining areas plus counter with bar chairs. Enclosed, carpeted elevator from the carport to the upper floors.
Four bedrooms, each with private bath: two queens; four twins; two full sofa beds in the spacious downstairs den with large picture windows and great views, pull-down shades for room darkening. Available folding crib. 4 flat-screen TVs: 55", 46", 32" and 27", DVD player, wireless Internet.
Upstairs master with limited ocean views, French doors to covered porch, walk-in tile shower with dual heads and seat. Downstairs master with semi-private covered balcony and expansive views.
Front upper-level covered balcony with rocking chairs and partial ocean views; open upper back deck with wide views of wetlands, summer sunset, Southport, and stargazing. Ground-level carport with play area and picnic table. Easy beach access. Rinse off with two lighted, private hot and cold outdoor showers with dressing benches and clothes hooks. Beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and games provided. If you've had to leave your four-legged family member at the kennel on previous vacations, we are now dog-friendly.

This is a great home and it is the best equipped beach home we’ve ever stayed at.

House with a million dollar view
The view was amazing!! We could see all the ships going to Wilmington and we had an ocean view as well! House was super clean. We had a hard time operating the stove top. Owners really need to get some new frying pans! Our experience at Picayne was amazing and just what we needed!
