The Cabin
All our cabins at Ponderosa Place feature vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and log accents. Kitchens have everything you need to cook except ovens... Stove tops, Fridge, Microwave, Coffee pot, all dishes, pots, pans, utensils are provided. Each cabin has AC units to help you cool down as well as cove heat if you are visiting in the cooler months. All linens and towels are provided along with basic soaps.
Outside Space
Cool off in the shared back yard with gentle log swing and seating area all under our huge willow tree. Or stretch your legs and let the kids burn some energy off in the two shared large front yards! There is a swing set for the kiddos, and 2 firepits for evening enjoyment.

Located just a few blocks off the main street in Custer you can walk to the grocery store along with shopping and restaurants!

We loved the location of this property. It is perfectly central to see Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. We loved how clean it was! The only issues we had were the main bed is very hard and uncomfortable. There is also something going on with the floor in the kitchen and bedroom... it is wobbly, and seems to be uneven or something. As long as you don't drink too much, you will be OK!

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was a quick walk to town for shopping, restaurants, and the Mickelson Trail. The cabin features a comfortable bed and sofa plus all the kitchen utensils and bath accessories we needed. It was an enjoyable stay!

I brought my grandson to see Mt Rushmore and other sights. Ponderosa Place was perfect for us, it has everything we need! The swing set was great for burning off his energy at the end of the day and being able to cook instead of eating out every meal was great. Crystal is a great host!

We stayed at Crystal's place for several nights in September. The location of the rental is so convenient, not only to town, but also to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park. We were easily able to explore all of these destinations without a long car ride. The proximity to downtown Custer is great too, a short car ride, or you are within walking distance if you choose.
The rental itself was very nice, as pictured. It was very clean. I would definitely stay here again. I will warn you to watch out for your toes when walking into the bedroom, its a little tight walking around the bottom of the bed, but overall it's a wonderful place!

We love staying in or near Custer because it's a bit quieter than the rest of the Black Hills in the evenings. This was no exception. The cabin was a few blocks off the main business district so it was quiet and out of the traffic but a very easy walk to restaurants and gift shops.
Everything was clean and ready for us. Check-in with the code was easy. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay the Mustang cabin. My husband loves all things cowboy so this was a perfect surprise for his 64th birthday. We hope to stay there again!

This cabin was perfect for our family of 4! This cabin in Custer was in a convenient location right off the Main Street but not in a busy part of town. The cabin was clean, convenient, and homey. The grill was a great addition to cook our meals, and our kids enjoyed the community yard out front. We were able to enjoy life in the beautiful Black Hills for 4 days.

My husband and I stayed at this property for a long weekend while we explored the Black Hills. We loved its central location - lots of sights within easy driving distance, and we could walk to downtown Custer for groceries and restaurants. Nice and quiet, comfortable beds. Internet is pretty slow

My husband wanted to travel to SD to see Sturgis. Me not so much. We both wanted to see Crazy Horse, so I looked for a place nearby. Custer was the perfect spot! When I found Black Hills Ponderosa Place I knew this was the place. I was ecstatic when accommodations were available for our dates. I booked right away for 5 nights.
My husband was so anxious to start our vacation that we arrived earlier than our planned date. When we contacted Crystal to ask about accommodations earlier than expected she was able to put us up in another cabin. We were grateful and thrilled!
We stayed in #2 Trout which was perfect for 2 people prior to our original date, and #6 Mustang for our planned stay. Both cabins had all the comforts of home. We weren’t disappointed and plan to return.
Black Hills Ponderosa Place is located in beautiful Custer in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the main street. It is very convenient to Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park where you can see the bison and more, and all the great motorcycle drives, too.
I’m confident that you’ll enjoy your stay at Black Hills Ponderosa Place.

Great vacation
The cabin was very close to Custer State Park. Originally came to see MtRushmore, Custer St Park was such an added surprise. Had a great stay.

Cottages are extremely clean, plenty of fun activities for kids to do, close to all sights and parks. Minutes from Crazy Horse and 30 minutes from Mt Rushmore. 45 from Keystone... 100% enjoyed our time. Thank you so much for allowing my crew to stay at your beutiful cottages

Property was fine .. a little cozy as far as the bedroom goes .. Trip was cut short due to a death in the family back home. Left a day early. Trying to get compensated by the trip insurance policy. :-(
