Wonderful hotel in St Denis and I would stay again (and again) in a heartbeat

We stayed in chambre Tec-Tec, which was a ground-level room right off the pool and main villa. It was well appointed, quiet and had a very comfortable bed, large ensuite bathroom, and excellent privacy with a large curtain. We found parking immediately out front on the road where our car was safe. We could have parked in the secure onsite area but it wasn't necessary. If you're looking at other properties in St Denis and you have a car, then absolutely consider this hotel so you don't have trouble parking. Our breakfast was brilliant and the host very helpfully allowed us to do a load of laundry on site. It was so helpful for us and made our trip so much more comfortable. Walking into town was very quick. Within 15 minutes of walking we made it across town for dinner at a wonderful restaurant. The Botanical Gardens are about 5 minutes away. Buses are equally close if this is how you plan to get around. The area is well lit and instructions for check in were clear as we arrived after the check in staff had left for the day.

This isn't the hotels fault, but Saint-Denis is over run with cockroaches. Little critters were everywhere! We spotted a few around the auberge grounds, but as I say, this is not their fault as we found them all over the city as we walked around at night. I'm mentioning this more so that others don't assume its due to the hotels lack of hygiene - that certainly is NOT the case.

Check-in was easy, with good instructions by mail/booking. Location is good, easy parking in the street. Welcome drinks/appetizer in the fridge.

The lights in the room were difficult to control. We couldn't dim the light from the toilet, but could close the door so we weren't disturbed by the light. Shower in bath.

Friendly, comfortable stay in a charming cottage

Breakfast was wonderful, staff were really friendly. We arrived super early and though our room wasn’t ready yet (understandably), she still let us sit on the porch and have a cup of tea while we waited.

Nothing, it all was great for what we needed.

The service was good. The owner of this house is very nice. The room is clean. Delicious breakfast to choose from. Nice pool. Very interesting atmosphere in this house 🏡

Repair works that prevented rest after the flight. We were not allowed to choose a room.

rooms were up to date and ac was great! easy access into the property even after hours. the owner was very helpful in making sure we made it in safe when we checked in late. i would definitely stay here again. i stayed on the new side up the stairs

Top luxury hotel in St. Denis

We had been many times before but not in this room, which we thought was very good (in the central part of the complex). Otherwise, my only comment is that this is the only high-standard hotel you can get in St. Denis centre.

It's sometimes a bit too intimate, in the sense that it's not an anonymous big hotel. Our room was in the main building, which means you hear everything in the main breakfast room.

the ideal base station for some shopping spree.

Situated just at the right walking distance from the busy city center of St Denis and it’s shops, this location is excellent for the weekend breakaway. it is located in the calm area of the city and surrounded by beautiful colonial buildings.

Although we had access to the property’s shared kitchen, I would have appreciated a kettle in room for my night tea. the light switches also need some labeling. I could also use a water hose in the toilet.

lovely house with plenty of space to sit, possibility to wash clothes, modern room

-check-in after 2.30 pm: no one on site and you need instructions to get into the property and room. instructions are only sent in the afternoon which makes it difficult if you have no WIFI. we spent 5 minutes on the phone until we were in our room (3€ per minute) - tourist tax was 4 times higher (4€ per person per night) than mentioned in the booking confirmation (1€ per person per night) and also 4 times higher than we paid in the other accomodations on La Reunion

A very welcoming place to be

This colonial villa is recently and beautifully decorated and has modern sleeping rooms. Is is situated in a quiet residential area and has a very pretty garden plus pool plus private parking spaces. The breakfast is served in a beautiful room and has plenty of choices. The welcome by the staff was very nice.

Perhaps the walking distance into town where you have the restaurants, but we had our own car. The staff is not there all the time, so remember to ask any questions before they leave. Everything else was perfect.

Through history and modern architecture villla

So beautiful villa with a nice and quiet neighborhood. I loved the mix of modern architecture and typical house Réunion style. The lady that manage the house was helpful and kind, very kind. You feel at home in the villa, great experience as a guest. The swimming pool was insane, picturesque and warm. All the rooms and the common spaces are clean.

What I missed, it was a warmer environment: more plants in the villa and outside to create a tropical style, a better selection of pictures and painting or just better exposition of them, some frames were not in the wall but in the floor. For a better and quality experience the details are crucial, and sometimes you feel that the house misses a soul, even if the history and the environment are there, ready to be alive again.

The villa is beautiful, decorated with taste. The staff is friendly and cook amazing breakfasts. The room is well equipped and the bed was very confortable! We had great nights. Highly recommended!

Very good stay at Villa Marie Lucie

The accommodation is really good, with big bedrooms and nice bathrooms. The main house is well decorated and there is a swimming pool. The staff was super helpful and the food is really good. The house is conveniently situated in Saint-Denis as the main areas are by walking distance.
