Great location, nice property. Home does needs an update and/or a handyman and some deep cleaning. Living room seating was broken down and uncomfortable,

Great location and had a great time!

Everything was pretty awesome. Love the wraparound porch and the view. It was hotter there than normal so we wish we brought fans. Two ceiling fans would’ve helped in the living room. There are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms. There is 3 French doors to let the breeze in. The road up there could be improved and the parking space too. Overall a great place for a large family to relax and spend time.

Property was perfect for our large family vacation. Managers were extremely helpful in making our stay a forever memory

The location was super close to skiing area. The views were beautiful. Kids enjoyed the loft area and there was plenty of room for everyone in our party.

The house is very nice. The girl at the office where we checked in wasn’t friendly. The directions to the house were confusing. The map they gave us didn’t match the streets. We had to call in and ask for directions. Still confusing. The road to get to the house is a bit steep but we didn’t have any problems making it. We had 4 wheel drive. The wifi never worked. I texted the number for help with it. They responded they would try to get someone to look at it. No one ever showed. The 3 rd day they texted back and said they couldn’t get anyone to look at it, but did credit me back 116.00 for my troubles. We did enjoy staying at the house, it was beautiful and well maintained. The view was very nice.

The property was fantastic. The property management company was not helpful. We had issues getting into the property. They had issues with the heater (the house was fine with the few space heaters and fireplace going). They originally offered us an alternate place to stay which was no where near as nice as this house as well as multiple sets of stairs that would not accommodate the two grandfathers with bad knees. When we told them that wouldn’t work, they basically told us we were on our own. Nothing was mentioned about the state of the driveway up to the house.
We worked it out with the heaters and an alternate place to shower (we figured that out- not the management company) - and still be able to get the house. We stayed there in September and loved it.
The property management company did nothing to the driveway before hand and did not discuses with us any issues concerning the driveway.
We were able to get up to the house once with both 4 wheel drive vehicles. After a trip to the store and to get skis - the truck made it up to the landing where you cut back to the house, and slid 1/2 way down before my husband was able to stop the slide. We had no issues before so we thought he just hit a bad spot, the 4 wheel drive Infiniti went around and didn’t make it, and slid down into the truck. While trying to get a few things out of the vehicles, my father slipped and fell. Suffering a very bad spinal contusion. We were taken by ambulance to Taos and the airlifted to Lubbock where he had spinal surgery Monday morning. We left the house two days early due to the injuries and getting back to Lubbock to be with him.
The property management company was made aware of all of our issues and were no help. We haven’t heard back from them at all regarding the rental and possible reimbursement for the days we had to cut the trip short.
Ironically. They had driveway cleared and stuff put down (salt or whatever they use) on it by 830 or so on Christmas morning and we had no issues going up and down the driveway after that.
We loved the house and the location. Was extremely disappointed in Red River Realty.
It’s been a week since the fall and we’ve had no follow up from them regarding any of these jssues.

Nice house but not a great listing
The listing states the house is in town and it for sure is not. It’s a drive up in the mountains. We enjoyed it but the other issue we ran into was we were looking for a house with bedrooms on the first floor due to my elderly family members. While the bedrooms are on one floor, there is a huge flight of stairs you must go up and down to access the house in the entry. My grandparents hardly left the house for that reason.
Also, they sent and email before saying check in was at 3 and then changed it later to 4.
Other than that, beautiful home!

First I’d like to point out the good things about the property. 1. It had a great view and looked really nice. 2. Always had hot water and appliances all worked. 3. The house was fairly priced.
BUT I just want others to know exactly what they are getting. First getting there is quite the feat. No signage to the road you need to take to get to the treacherous driveway that as stated you definitely need 4x4. There is a very tight turn that our dually truck had to reverse on that was dangerous in the ice and snow. As you walk in, there is a very small entryway with nowhere for ski clothes or wet shoes and then the long flight of carpeted stairs down to main level of house making unloading and loading heavy ice chests and luggage difficult. Rooms were descent but mattresses were terrible. King in master had indentation from many years of use, spare bedroom full size bed was hard as a rock, and bedroom with queens was decent. Spare bathroom shower was clogged on night one. After plunging in attempt to unclog, black muck came back up and sat in shower. We did call the office the next morning and maintenance did come out and unclogged after second trip out. They did not however address the master bathroom pocket door that did not close all the way or the bath drain that didn’t close or would completely pull out as we had requested. The spare bathroom shower temp control pulled off at some point but we were able to screw and clip it back on. The washer leaked a little underneath and could tell it wasn’t something new because of stains on lenolium. WiFi never worked. The network on written instructions never came up and password didn’t work on any that did. Direct TV kept giving us Signal lost notification on most channels even when weather was clear. Washer/dryer in spare bedroom bifold door pulled off track on night one. There were 2 recliners that didn’t recline because they were missing handles. The light above the sink was out as were several other bulbs in the house. Stuff in the garage that was difficult to get around if you parked car in garage, an old toilet, screen doors, plumbing parts etc. Thermastats regulate very differently in different rooms with master bathroom being the hottest. The staircase up to the loft is extremely steep and narrow. One teen tumbled down during our stay. All in all we had a nice stay but the little things sure add up. We would stay somewhere more easily accessible next time.

This mountain cabin is built into a cliff with incredible views of Red River. It's an older home with lots of modern updates. It's a very short walk to the ski area, fishing and restaurants. It's at least four out of five stars by most standards.

Mountain stay
It was a great stay and the ski lift was at the bottom of the hill. Very convenient. Only thing is the listing said 4 bedrooms and it was 3 with an open loft.

The only issue is that driveway. Maybe consider paving it.

Needs major work
My experience was terrible. Prior to coming to property I communicated with management company about my concerns as there were very recent reviews of property that were terrible and reviews were done after I booked. I asked if these things were fixed and I was told most of them have been. My main concern was the cleanliness. I communicated with them that my sister is going through chemo and will be in the cabin 24/7. The room she stayed in was so musky smelling and also smelled like mothballs. This is not good for her. We had to ask for a box fan as the ceiling fan was wobbly and looked like it would come out of ceiling. The coffee pot was still broken which was mentioned on several reviews. Both can openers were broken and my husband had to use his pocket knife to open cans. There were 8 of us and we all had to use one bathroom. The toilet was still not fixed. Mainenanxe came and put a handle on it that didn’t work. They said the owners had ordered new toilets. There was a weird wire coming out of dryer that made us nervous to use. None of the outlets in the place would hold anything plugged in. Master blinds wouldn’t work. My husband had to tie them up with string so we could open them. Management company tried to charge us $100 because of our trash. They just told us to take out trash when we left but there was no trash can to put it on they told me they were charging as they always tell everyone to use dumpster at the bottom of the hill. We were never told this nor did any of our paperwork state this. I asked if they were calling me a liar as they never ever told us this. They said they will change their paperwork to include this because it was nowhere!! We all had either 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. The roads are steep and super icy. My son in law slid sideways down the narrow road in his 4 wheel drive vehicle. They need to treat the road going to this property. I asked for a manager to call me so I can discuss and of course never heard a word from anyone so wanted to write a review. It was an expensive trip to have so many things wrong. We paid way too much for this cabin. I hope the owners read this as the management company isn’t doing their job. I would have appreciated a call so I could go over all of this so the next person wouldn’t have the same problems. Again, my main concern is the moldy gross room that my sister had to stay in.

Communication is key!
We had a great time in the town of red River! The view was amazing and the home was beautiful. Just not up to par for the price! The house was dirty. Small bath shower & toilet did not work well. (10 people used 1 bathroom). Microwave did not work well coffee pot leaked, a little confused on where the “ski in and ski out” was. (We never found that). Realtor was difficult to work with. They said if we had four-wheel-drive or chains we can get to the house with no problem. We were pulling a small trailer. They said it would be fine if we had four-wheel-drive… We did. However the roads were terribly icy & were not cleared by the city, and we jackknifed our trailer which resulted in damage to our bumper! The city had to get us unstuck. Then they Also got stuck and had to call for help. We requested maintenance to come and repair some things in the home but they never showed up. Check in time was 3:00pm. Realtor kept stalling, blamed the cleaning company!! Then they blamed the city foe a water main break!! We got to the house at 9:00 pm! There were other things that we had problems with but too many to list. We made the best of the situation and had a good time anyway.

Guys trip
Love the property this is the 2nd time we visited it.

Timber Crest - RedRiver has a wonderful view of the town, however, not a kid friendly property.
Not a very good property for families with kids. Owner /red river Rentals should be honest on post!
-Refrigerator was not working properly. Maintenance came the first afternoon and repaired.
-Oven did not work our first try, at breakfast, had to call maintenance again, determined the ignition fuse was not working. Maintenance did replace.
Bedroom that shows 3 beds was actually a “loft” with incredibly steep staircase so could not let small children sleep upstairs. Very warm up there so nobody could sleep up there. Two adults slept on couches do small children could have beds.
-Sour odor in bedroom where washer/dryer was. Smelled the entire time. Carpet had been wet at some point.
-Dryer quit drying with hot air on Friday before we left on Saturday so unable to wash up laundry. Left with wet items.
Did report on Friday night to Jessica.
-Several bugs in home. First night killed a spider on pillow. Lots of large black ants in home...bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms. Uncomfortable after all that.
-No yard or area outside to play or sit around home.
Beautiful balcony to sit on, but it was so steep below, could not let kids outside.
Super scary road driving up to property. Dangerous drop off on side.
Timbercrest is a property for adults only or with grown children.
Close to town and views were great.
This would be s good property in winter for ski in/ski out, but not for summer time.
Feel like describing property on website should include all the above.
Paid way too much for the condition/location of property for 6 nights!!
Will rent in upper valley next summer!

Great location. Great views.
We had a great time but the house needs some serious TLC. For the price we paid (peak season), we expected more.

Unique
What a great place. It will fulfill your "luxury cabin in the woods" fantasy. Postcard views, great kitchen, close to everything. Numerous small extras that set this place apart from most. Just remember that if it snows when you are there, you will need snow chains or 4 wheel drive to get to house. We will be there every year its available.

Loved it!
We had a great time! The accommodations were great, the location was wonderful, the view was fantastic, and the weather was very cooperative, (high temps. in the 70s and low 80s, beautiful, especially for mid July).

Great Cabin Near the Lifts!
Loved this place, neatly kept and just a great place to stay while in RR. We walked to the lifts or town everyday. The driveway is steep, so be prepared for that when returning home after a long day on the mountian! The only thing that we had a little trouble with was the drive way. It snowed a ton while we were there and we could not get our van up the hill after dinner on our last night- so we had to park down below and walk our stuff down. Not ideal- but that's the trade off for the amazing view we had all week long at the house.

Great
Awesome place to stay with a great view. Close to town but still away enough to get the mountain feel. Would definitely recommend this place to stay. The only negatives we had were the Queen beds, and the coffee pot did not work. Overall this place was one of the best places we have stayed.

Loved the Space and the View was Amazing!
Love the Space, Location and Amazing views! My only critique are the Queen beds. They were VERY Uncomfortable, I got very little sleep each night. But overall the Cabin was just great!!!

Great house and location!
This is a great house. Location is perfect...close to town and the ski slopes. Beds were good and has lots of space in the living room / kitchen area. Wonderful views. Parking might be tough if you have more than two vehicles. Would definitely stay here again.
