Breakfast was continental style and provided a lot of choice. The dinner menu was very good and the food cooked very well. The family owners were hospitable and very helpful.

wonderful staff! tasty food! great location and terrace!
room 101 - overlooked front steps and parking lot and thus was loud and not private.

Very kind personnel of a family driven hotel. Excellent kitchen and beverage against fair prices. Abanillas is a small village in the countryside and while there is not so much to see except countrylife it is very quiet in the night. So it is a perfect startingpoint for all kind of daytrips inland or to the coast (at 9 km) and have a very good meal/sleep afterwards.

We loved the personal service given by the family that ran it. The delicious breakfast and evening meals were locally sourced and homemade. It was set in the centre of a beautiful, traditional Spanish village with cows in the fields around. A traditional built hotel with lovely cool interior.
All the other guests were Spanish but we felt very welcome. Staff delivered an excellent service and went out of their way to assist us as English speaking tourists.
It is ideally located for beautiful beaches, traditional Spanish resort towns and the National Europe Park.
We are hoping to return next year.
One night it was very noisy from a neighbouring property.

Fine family run hotel in a very scenic setting.

They had a restaurant and bar. We had walked a long day on the Camino de Santiago and were tired and hungry when we arrived. They opened the restaurant early for us and took special precautions with my celiac disease. Clara is a wonderful host! We love staying at family run places and this was a wonderful experience!

Staff was friendly.
Breakfast was really nice, they had 3 shifts to breakfast as a COVID measure to avoid contact.

Friendly staff. Good restaurant, for dinner and breakfast. Quiet rural location.

Included in the price of the room was a delicious, hearty breakfast every morning served by the staff, with all the Covid restrictions in place, such as good ventilation and social distancing. The room was charming with beautiful views from both the bedroom and bathroom windows. The shower was nice and strong, with plenty of hot water.
The wifi didn't work very well. The bed could have been more comfortable. There was a single long pillow for two people on the double bed, and we had to pay 2€ for each extra pillow.

Staff is helpful, hotel surroundings are very quite. Good overall location, not to far from the ocean or the mountains.
rooms are a little small

Breakfast and views
8.0 / 10.0
Staff was polite and usually helpful. The hotel is well maintained and conveniently located close to A8 and a couple of sea or mountain attractions.
Breakfast was rather limited and always the same. A small fridge in the room would have been good, especially given some of the days were really warm. I would say it is fine as a "base" for hiking in the region or get to the seaside, but wouldn't recommend it for long stays.

Clean hotel with good beds and spacious room and bathroom. Free parking for guests. Location is quiet and close to many tourist attractions nearby (including the El Soplao cave for which the hotel can sell tickets to you) however besides driving to these attractions there’s nothing else to do in Abanillas.
The main issue with it if that they don’t guarantee WiFi in the rooms, only in the common areas. So is a bit ridiculous to have all the guests hanging around in the common areas just to be able to connect to the internet. Especially in times like these with covid19 lurking around. Same problem with the breakfast. Had to put ourselves on the list for a specific breakfast time, but at the designated time again people were crowding in the hallway waiting for the dining room to be open and being able to get to our designated table to have the breakfast. A courtesy gesture would’ve been for the hotel personal call the people in their rooms and tell them the breakfast is delayed and announced them they can come when ready.
