The island was quaint & magical! No crowds, no commercial activity & just enough amenities to please everyone in our group. The food options while minimal were just right. We used the grocery service to deliver & it was perfect! The management Co was responsive to any need. The house was comfortable & located in a great spot. Bike, walk or golf cart anywhere on the island. Loved the spacious pool after a day on the beach or in a boat! Everyone was so friendly. We will return!

Birthday Reunion
Our family gathered to celebrate our son’s 40th birthday and could not have been more pleased! The house was clean and well stocked(kitchen, beach towels, pool). The layout is perfect for a large group, plenty of room to spread our. The pool was perfect and the beach only a few minutes walk away. The only issue was the golf cart, it was very sluggish and a second one was not any better. It was not a big enough issue to spoil the trip. Getting to and from the island can be a difficult process but will be much easier the next time! Highly recommend this property!!!

Great location, house needs TLC
Excellent view of ocean. Very close to ocean. Decorated nicely. Needs "crows nest" railing fixed. Screened in porch missing screen. Pool was not clean/ready when we arrived.

The second floor (bedrooms) and third floor (kitchen and living room) were comfortable. The third floor had great views to the west and good natural light! The first floor (entry area) smelled musty and we didn't spend any time down there. One of the sliding glass doors on that floor (ground level) didn't have a lock on it so it was unlocked during the entire stay. The exterior of the house was in bad shape. All the decks were in disrepair. The outdoor shower wasn't in great shape, the pool was dirty when we arrived, the outdoor lounge chairs didn't have cushions and were dirty, and there was garbage along the side of the house, near the driveway, and on the deck (boxes, old furniture, old beverage fridge, etc.). The rooftop deck was more a roof with a railing. The furniture was just ok but there were blood stains and bones on the railing and roof and in general, wasn't a place we wanted to hang out. It was a huge disappointment given that the deck is west facing and all of the other decks didn't get much sunlight. The picture with two golf carts is misleading as the house didn't come with carts. There weren't any other amenities like beach chairs, pool toys/floats, etc.We would not rent this house again.

Island was a great resort. We had 1 problem. We were supposed to have heated pool, that is specifically why we rented the house. Although it was checked it was not fixed. I asked if I would get partial refund. Your office said mgmt or owners would get back to me. In a follow up text You sent to rate my stay, I reported again and still no one has contacted me. I think the lack of contact is inexcusable. I am still waiting for a call.

Reviewer Comments:
The island is beautiful, & we loved that part of our vacation. Home was rather run down, & needed some TLC. The screen was hanging from the ceiling on the bedroom porch, decks needing repair, home interior a bit out of date, the top deck railing was a bit in disrepair, & needed a coat of paint. The bottom story smelled weird. The top story is where the living areas were, & that was pretty nice, with no smell. Most of the bedrooms are on the second story, & they were just fine too, no smell, & reasonably accommodating, etc. The pool & deck seemed more recently updated. Note, that is NOT a hot tub in the photos, it's part of the pool & at pool temp. Also, they require a lot of work for checkout, washing towels, taking out all trash, stripping beds, etc. Golf carts aren't supposed to be used after 10 AM, but our ferry didn't leave until 2, but no other way to get around the island other than walking. They are supposed to pick up your bags, which we just had to leave outside the house in the yard, but they left them there for many hours before getting them, which seemed like a risk for theft. They required us to have bags out at 9AM, & when we checked at 12:40PM they were still there. When we got there, our key that we were given did not work. We had to wait for many hours to get a key to the house, which didn't end up being nearly as bad as it could have been, because the back door was unlocked, so we just went in. Also, we requested a Pack n Play for our baby, which wasn't there when we arrived, but they did bring one later. We also requested a baby gate, which wasn't there, & when they brought it to us, it didn't fit (not wide enough), so we were on a three story building with no baby gate, so we had to pull a mattress down & put it up in front of the stairs with a plant to hold it up. Some of the windows are not very safe, w/ furniture up to window, no deck or screen on the outside, baby could fall through if opened, or if there was an accident.

Not even sure where to begin...no water for a day, outdoor and several first floor outlets not working...therefore, no way to charge golf cart, pool and pool area were filthy & heaven only knows if the water was properly treated as we all had red painful eyes after 5 minutes, microwave falling apart and falling off mounting, clothes dryer barely works, front door handle kept falling off, kitchen had no corkscrew, can opener or shellfish utensils, no directions in house as to outdoor light controls, shower faucet in 2nd master leaked - couldn’t really turn it off, area around house littered with soda cans...needless to say, we left the place 2 days early. Oh, and North Captiva Island Club management leaves a lot to be desired...such as actual property management!

Not much worked!
We nicknamed North Captiva Island “slumlord island”. We had a golf cart with flat tires in the yard, the next one had no headlights (we had to use a flashlight), and the next one wouldn’t charge. Our pool was nice, the “pool kitchen” was a mess, door falling off the fridge and cabinets. The deck was horrible and we had a contest to see if ANYONE could walk down the stairs to the pool with out falling (2 of the steps are broken). Everything in the house is old and needs replacing, especially the second bedroom bed. For a place that brings in WAY over a quarter of a million $ a year, should be in better shape. Like we said——slumloard island. They get your money and couldn’t care less.

Perfect Vacay
This was our first time on North Captiva. We came to celebrate our parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. The planning ahead of time was stressful (ordering groceries, arranging ferry rides), but once we got to the island life was great!! If you are looking for a laid back, relaxing vacation, the island is the perfect spot! The house was perfect for 10 people! Some of the beds were horribly uncomfortable, but overall the house was good. The kids loved having the pool/spa right out the back door. The club pool/tennis courts were fun too! Our family has already decided that we want to go back.

Wouldn't return to Captiva Island
The arrival process was seamless and easy. You could tell that our rental was not maintained very well. Many things did not work including most of the locks on doors and windows. Worst of all the electricity went out on our second day there and never came back on. With no power, water or food due to not having electricity, we were forced to leave our vacation early. Lots of roaches inside home and so many bugs outside constantly bitting even with spray on.

Key Lime Covid Time
We had such a wonderful stay at Key Lime Time on North Captiva. The house was a perfect layout for 2 families with an additional room not even used. All of the stuff and everyone on the island was helpful and a joy to work with. Highly recommend having a boat to enjoy island hopping each day. Each day you were on a remote secluded beach --perfect during Covid19 and Social Distancing. We made so many memories and will be back to stay at Key Lime Time again.

Nice house. nice pool. kitchen is well stocked with dishes. Very close to the beach. The Grill is very nice, made some great steaks. Lots of hot water, good shower water pressure. No shuffleboard table, bit disappointing with that. Otherwise great stay.

Great location, awesome island, but the house is getting a bit rough
We had a great vacation, really enjoyed our first time on North Captiva. It was a little intimidating when we found out about the ferry access and needing to plan groceries and ferry times around airplane arrival and departures. But the time on the island was great. It would have been nice if the pool heater had been turned on a day earlier. The first day the water was too cold for our 2 yr old, she'd be shivering within 30 minutes. So we went to the beach more the first day. The rest of the time the pool was nice and warm. Overall the house was showing age. Loosely hanging light fixtures, piles of dust on fan blades, and no shuffleboard table shown in the pictures. The previous review for the kitchen comments were spot on. Trying to prep meals with the knives was like cutting with a butter knife. Either need new ones, or they need to be sent to a sharpener. The views are fantastic, but the roof doesn't seem super inviting with the anti-bird spikes on the railings. Also, for the size of place, and number of people, 2 carts should just be included, as opposed to having to rent a 2nd one for extra. 1 of our carts was pretty beat up too, and super slow. The house no longer has satellite tv, its all Roku and wifi. Having to guess to figure out the WIFI password was annoying, as was having to enter for free trials on the Roku app's. For the price you'd think the tv would just work when you showed up. It was also kind of annoying that 1 of the steps for the bunk beds was broken and missing, and hadn't been replaced yet. Our littlest couldn't climb it. With a little extra cleaning and upkeep, the place would be awesome.

We certainly enjoyed our visit to North Captiva!
We liked the location and size but overall felt the furnishings had outlived their appeal & comfort. The condition of the outdoor seating was an eyesore. The bedding etc was, however, satisfactory so that is a plus. Since NCIC oversees the rental of this property our expectations of it’s condition were higher.

Had a good time
The island was great fun to explore. Glad we had ample previsions since the island shut down for a storm. Great place to escape and just chill. The house itself was very well used/worn. The house needs a lot of attention. There were some mechanical issues with the house/pool but they came out right away to fix them.

Great Time!!!
House was very nice with a great view of the gulf. Only thing was that the roof top deck was not clean or inviting. Would have spent more time up there if we felt comfortable.

Beautiful house. Perfect Location.
We loved this house.
This was our third time on the Island.
The house is just a few steps from the beach.
We think this is the best beach on the island. We’ve stayed at the North end (too windy) and the southern end (also a beautiful beach). We like this central location.
This was also our first time staying in a home with a pool. We loved that. Didn’t ever go to the NCIC pools at all, like we did in previous years. We were at the beach early morning and in the evening and at the pool at Key Lime Time during the day. Half of the pool was shaded so the little kids didn’t have to reapply sunscreen as often. Pool was heated so we could keep it at the perfect temp. We ate lunches poolside. It was such a relaxing week. Even made a few scavenger hunts for the kids around the island.
Only complaint, the kitchen isn’t set up for foodies. Knives are like butter knives, etc. If you cook, you may be a bit frustrated, but we improvised and made it work.
We would definitely stay here again.

Great house
We have been on north captiva each spring break since 2008, renting different houses, as our family needs changed. This hous, Key Lime Time, is one of our favorites. The layout was good, full size washer and dryer, nice kitchen with plenty of dishes, silverware and pots and pans to cook for a large group. The location was great and th pool area was very private We are always sad to leave the island.
