Very nice owner. Apartement was clean, facilities were good.
Location close by sea and 15 minutes to the city center by bus were perfect for me

Casa da Belavista is a charming, perfectly located property that feels like home. The owner Luiz and his lovely wife own the home -- there are two apartments that they rent out. I rented #4, the basement or cellar apartment. It is a spacious one-bedroom with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and full bathroom. The property is across the street from the magnificent esplanada and the Douro River. You can walk, take the iconic tram (lines 1 and 18 start/stop just around the corner!), or take the #500 bus into Porto. Walk along the river in either direction and you will enjoy spectacular views. There are several charming restaurants within 3-5 minutes walking from the apartment -- stop into Arcadia for fine chocolates and other sweet treats or Habitat for a Porto Tonic and delicious meal. The kitchen is well equipped so you don't have to eat every meal out. Pingo Doce grocery store is about a 10-minute walk and Continente grocery store is on the way to/from Porto. Luiz speaks English and provides a lot of helpful information in the apartment. Internet connection is fast and stable. Bed is very comfortable. I felt very safe as a solo traveler.
I stayed for nearly a month and can't think of anything I didn't like!

Great location for a familiy, next to a green park and just a short walk to atlantic coast. The apartment had everything we needed, and it was nicely and authenticly equiped. We liked the kitchen with two bar stools.
The bathroom with the bathtub is a little outdated.

A place with character! Well equipped for a self catered stay. Although no direct sea view, just look left from the front door and it's about 100 m away. Good public transport links. And Luiz, the host, is extremely helpful.
Note that there is a place for free car parking on about 80 m away but note these are narrow streets.

The location is fabulous! Across the street from the harbour and lovely park and sea promenade (no view of the sea as the suite is basement level in a side street). Also, it is at the beginning/end of the tram line-very quaint- that runs along the sea into the old town at the church of Sao Francisco. The apt. was well equipped, spacious and comfortable.
There was a residue smell of ild, damp stone. The apartment was not damp, but if you have environmental allergies, it would be difficult to ignore the lingering odor.

The apartment was great! It was very spacious and clean and had all the most needed kitchen appliances. The location was very central with close walk to the public transport, restaurants and the sea. The host was very friendly and easy to communicate.

We didn't have the breakfast but the location was absolutely superb! Breathtaking views & right on the beautiful promenade. Exceeding our expectations & would definitely sat here again. The apartment was well equipped & the beds were super comfortable. Luiz was an excellent, polite, helpful & friendly host & spoke English too which was a great bonus as we didn't speak Portuguese.
I can honestly say there wasn't anything that we disliked. I would probably ask to stay in another apatment with a balcony instead of the basement one next time, solely for the views of the river. Couldn't get any food when we arrived as all the restaurants close at 8.30 on a Sunday.

location was fabulous and property so charming and comfortable.

Great location midway between central Porto (30mins bus) and Matosinhos . The sub-basement flat was large and provided plenty of space for two. The Douro and ocean are 2 mins away. Beautiful walk around the coast to the amazing fish restaurants of Matosinhos or along the river to Porto. The flat was well equipped and the facilities functional. The charming owner Luiz lives above the two flats and is on hand if needed. Good bus services.
Some new towels perhaps. Shower has capacity for 1.5 showers only, then two hour wait. Electricity tripped out due to overloaded supply. Towel are antique.

We had a very pleasant stay at Casa da Bellavista. Luiz is such a great host. He was very friendly, always available and made sure we had everything we needed. Every question was answered immediately. The house had the perfect location for us as a family. Very close to Porto center but in a very nice neighborhood with a park, lots of restaurants and cafes and at the beach. We enjoyed the traditional housing in a 300 years old building with beautiful indo-portuguese furniture very much. Further, everything was provided for our baby: baby bed, high chair, even toys.

location was perfect, transportation - restaurants - grocery stores
linens, old and holey, cat urine smell (aired out a couple of days, not so prominent) although owner said no cat.

the location is really great. when you leave the house, the ocean is right in front of you. also right at the start/ end of the tram line which is a really must do when in porto. plus there are a few nice brunch bars and food places on walking distance. Luiz, the host was really great as well. He was very welcoming, and gave us some good recommendations.

Lovely residential location. Very close to the river /sea beautiful park and transport into the center of Porto by bus ,Tram or walking.
The apartment is very homely with some nice antique furniture and art work.
If I am being really picky the bathroom towels could have been better quality.

I stayed at Casa da Belavista for 5 weeks and it was wonderful. The apartment is large, very well-equipped and comfortable (including an excellent bed that I slept really well in). The location is perfect - just off the pretty, waterfront Passeo Alegre park, moments away from the bus stop and an easy walk to the beaches in one direction, and along the gorgeous riverbank into town in the other. Best of all was the charming and kind hospitality from Luiz, including a wonderful breakfast, lots of local area suggestion and a very friendly welcome. I loved my stay and am very happy to recommend Casa da Belavista most highly.

Tastefully decorated and every need catered to. The apartment is cosy and very comfortable, especially the lovely bed!
Everything was spotless.
Nice and quiet, excellent for relaxing away from the city but close enough to the sights too, the tram is practically on the doorstep and goes straight into the centre.
I also loved the wonderful walk beside the river and spent a day on the beach which is in walking distance.
Luiz was an excellent host, messaging to check things were ok but not bothering me.
I didn't want to leave!
Nothing.

Lovely place to stay with a very welcoming host. The location was great for the beach, getting to Porto and local restaurants.

The location is great. The wifi worked well. Parking is actually pretty easy. A pleasant park is across the street and the mouth of the Douro also.

Well laid out, very convenient location. Proprietor welcoming and solicitous.
As the house does not catch the sun, it’s damp. This is unavoidable, but it’s challenging to keep linen etc warm and dry.

Basement apartment that didn't feel like one! Conveniently located at the end of the #1 tram line and beautiful walks along the river. Lots of available parking. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortably furnished.
