In Casa Papiro we stayed in a spacious, clean and comfortable appartment in Canneto. From the big terrace you can see the Stromboli. There is a regular and cheap busconnection to the cozy main town of Lipari. From Lipari one can make all kinds of boat tours to the other Eolian Islands. Host Denise is very friendly and gives you tips about the possibilities on the Island.

amazing views, lovely outside area, very friendly host
quite cold inside

Nice apartment, very clean with an equipped kitchen, lots of space and a nice balcony with an outside kitchen too. Lipari was a little cold and rainy for us so the kids enjoyed the big TV
a little hard to find, you follow an alley next to Bar Papisca to the end and on the left is the b&b. Breakfast wasnt included when we stayed as it was early in the season but we could prepare everything in the room
3.0
Kitchen was sufficient, I was able to cook and there were bare necessities like salt, pepper, olive oil and a good amount of cookware, plates, cups, utensils etc.
Bathroom was OK. Decent water pressure, and hot water, so that earns extra points.
1. The B&B is located down a back street that google maps doesn’t pick up. Very lucky for me, I’m good with directions. How it’s positioned makes it inaccessible by car, and up several flights of stairs (once from the alleyway and then up to the B&B). So good luck if you have luggage.
2. The view from the photos advertised is false. The only view I got was of several neighbors backyards and a construction site. Attempting to have morning coffee on the terrace in your night robe only to see an older man below waving. Friendly but uncomfortable.
3. The apartment was freezing! Save for the heat in your actual room, the comm area will feel like Antarctica in the winter. I can only imagine the summer.
4. I arrived when the island is a literal ghost town. As an avid traveler, I understand slow season, but this was something completely unfathomable. Nothing was open. There wasn’t anywhere to have lunch or dinner. No life whatsoever. I would have greatly appreciated if the host were more informative. Instead, she continuously referred me to places that were all closed for the holidays. I’d assume as a host, knowing more about the place you live during the holidays, it would have been a nice touch to have fresh fruit and bread, coffee and tea etc available. Possibly even invite me to celebrate Epiphany as a local welcome since I was the only guest! A holiday information guide for the island would have also been helpful so that I’m not arriving on my birthday ill prepared with no dinner options, and no further dining or activity options for the weekend.
5. Circling back to the host, she finally made an appearance the morning that I was leaving. From below my falsely advertised view, to briefly say hello and wave. Honestly, I was very upset by this. She was missing in action my entire weekend stay with zero guidance on that closed, dead, island. Only to appear from outside to wave moments before I leave. Note: a little effort goes a long way.

Denise was really attentive and helpful. Location is great. Plenty of space. Nice terrace on top of the building with sea view.
You do get a lot of noise from the flat next door.

The location is perfect, close to the beach, bus stop (10min from Lipari by bus), shops, bars, everything you need for a pleasant stay. The view from the terrace to the hills, the sea and Panarea and Stromboli is fantastic. The appartment itself is spacious and well-equipped. Denise, the host is friendly and welcoming too :) I completely enjoyed my stay here.
Nothing to complain about. Everything was good.

We had a very nice apartment directly at the beach promenade of Canneto with a roof terrace, BBC, fully equipped kitchen and living room. It was exceptional. Thank you, Denise and family, for all the care and the wonderful time, which we will never forget.

This was a spacious apartment with a balcony with a far away view of the sea and of the islands Panarea and Stromboli. Excellent kitchen facilities included a double fridge and cooking stove. The host was helpful, attentive and friendly. I enjoyed my stay here and I loved the Aeolian Islands.
