Tucans, jungle and friendly staff!

Everything!! This place is just a magical retreat in the jungle. The pictures don't do any justice to this place is even BETTER! I booked the Colibri (Hummingbird) room, and it was adorable. A couple of things to the travelers. This is the jungle - be aware that you are a wild place and just enjoy nature and its benefits. The place is an experience by itself; the rooms are comfy, clean, and have fans... To my surprise, the room had a kitchen and some utensils for an easy meal. Big plus+ nowadays! The staff is accommodating, they may not have all the answers right away, but they are trying their best to give you the more accurate ones. These people are so friendly and nice that I want them to be my friends. The food is fabulous! I'm a Honduran who lives abroad, and finding a good spot for food that doesn't mess with my stomach is a challenge; this was not the case - I ate four meals with my family, and everything was spot on! Just relax and leave the corporate clock back in the States. It's going to be worth it, I swear! The owner is so nice, and his dog Lexi is going to melt your heart ❤️🐾 I did not have the chance to go on their tours, but knowing the staff probably will be fantastic! Did I mention that this hotel is the only one with an incredible view of the Cangrejal River, and I spotted some Tucans? Even if you don't stay here, come for a meal and enjoy the view!

The best

It’s hard to explain how magical this place is. It’s like living in the garden of Eden with whitewater rafting. They arranged everything for us while we stayed here…transportation, excursions, amazing recommendations. I wish I could give this place 20 stars.

The food at the resort can take a really long time to come, but it’s good food and reasonably priced. If you go in with a relaxed attitude and just enjoy the river and the flowers and the atmosphere you will not be disappointed.

Recommend highly this beautiful place with Richard being a fabulous host.

the area is laid out beautifully with plants, trees and flowers reflecting the beauty of the jungle. Richard is a great host and ensures you have an enjoyable, comfortable and interesting stay. He organised a jungle hike where we were collected from Villas Picos Bonitos by Ossi. Ossi was a fabulous guide and we saw two beautiful waterfalls. The second day we did river swimming and rapid rafting. We finished right by Villas Picos Bonitos and able to walk right back to our villa. Food at the restaurant is good. if you are thinking of visiting this part of La Ceiba do not hesitate to book here. An excellent and very enjoyable stay. Thank you Richard and all the friendly attentive staff.

Very good

Absolutely beautiful location. Enjoyed the views and relaxation knowing there were also plenty of great activities nearby as well.

My kids did not like the number of creatures we shared our bedroom with. Sealing up the rooms a little more and adding A/C would make a big difference. Staff was not very informative when we arrived so we felt like we had to search people out. But very very helpful when we did find them.

Great option for a treat!

The view was amazing and we were able to change rooms to get one with a view of the river. They now have rafting so no need to go anywhere else to enjoy the river. We had one of the suites facing the river and it was truly beautiful, clean and the kitchen was well equiped.

Wifi did'nt reach to the rooms.

Amazing!

Everything thing was excellent the property is beautiful in so many ways i can't express. I am so in love with the dogs mostly the second oldest he stole my hearts he is the best host you guys have at the lodge. Shadow is so sweet and playfull. We had a nice time even do it was raining a lot but we had the whole place for our self and we enjoyed ourselves.

Just a little heads up we didn't get a butane we wasn't able to cook the food we tooked there and the restaurant was already closed. no one told us that in case of an emergency the gate key was on the hand full of keys that they gave us for the villa the 2 guys that works there didn't even said they were leaving we was left at the pool with no lights on i had to find them my self by exploring a little and one if the guys asked if we were staying at the pool until night i said yes of course and he even said am gonna leave the pool lights on before i get off my shift. Oh and the lady that's in charge of running the place wasn't polite on the phone with me i don't know if it was because i got the cheapest villa on the lodge or what probably not but it's the way me and my friends felt.

The facilities were fine, although the staff and location were the highlight. Very helpful and in such a beautiful area. Delighted.

The wifi wasn't great, but then again, it makes it even better to disconnect.

We really enjoyed our week there.

We rented an apartment and self catered. The balcony had a wonderful view of the river and waterfall. The owner was very helpful and friendly and the 2 dogs were very friendly.

There was insufficient equipment in the kitchen. We gave the owner a list of what we needed to self cater and he showed up with it all. I felt it would have been nicer if the items were already there.

Rustic accommodations and friendly service in a beautiful setting.

The grounds, view, pool and food were all excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is a rustic property in a beautiful setting. Do not expect luxurious accommodations, but the amazing balcony with fantastic views make up for the lack of luxury!

The chairs in our kitchenette were uncomfortable and things could have been cleaner (towels, blankets, dishes). We brought paper towels and dish towels, which were needed although we may have been able to ask for them. As other reviewers have noted, the excursion prices were cheaper down the road.
