We stayed here for almost a week to ski at Diamond Peak and also spent some time at Northstar. Great family house. We had about two to three feet of snow during the week. The driveway was cleaned like clockwork every morning at 6:30. Grateful!

Very enjoyable time great view pleasant stay
Great place clean and plenty of room for our family. This is a great place for a family stay with access to shops and skying and lake activities. If you are a cooking enthusiasts the kitchen is very basic not a chefs kitchen but will work for everyday quick meals.

Moth infestation
The property itself was fine. No real issues except a lack of blinds in the bedrooms. However, we arrived to a plethora of moths in every room. They were on the floor, the walls, the stairs, the curtains. I called the management group and they said they would get back to me within an hour. By the next day we had to vacuum them up. They finally responded to me after 3 days and 3 calls. We had to vacuum again in Oder to sleep our last night. Not really acceptable.

Great North Tahoe Retreat
It’s a very large and comfortable house nestled in the forest with spectacular views from all windows. The furnishings are attractive and functional. The fireplace is a plus when snow abounds. The contract snow removal crew was most welcome. Kitchen is fairly well equipped. All and all we had a wonderful stay.

Not as advertised
The property is very old. The good news is the master bath has been remodeled recently. The rest of the house is very old and the wear and tear really shows. The major sore point for us was that the property wasn’t really as advertised. We had seen the prior bad reviews and contacted the management company with our concerns. We were assured that the shortcomings were rectified. When we arrived we discovered quite the opposite. We e-mailed the management company because the garage door was inoperable. Never heard back. There were many lights that were still in need of replacement. There were no lights near the front door inside or outside. Some of the outside light were completely missing with bare electrical wires dangling against the house. Going out at night was a scary adventure. The CO/smoke detector was not even plugged in just left in a basket near the dining room and was inoperable. The potentially beautiful deck outside the master bedroom was unusable and most likely a code violation with missing decking and barely attached railing. The listing says there is TV service but this is incorrect. There is internet service attached to a TV (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). But no TV stations! The stairway railings have large gaps that a child could get caught in or slip underneath. The views of the lake and forest would be so much better if the vast majority of windows that have condensation failure were replaced. The location is very good with access to town and hiking, however the house does not warrant the rental cost.

Walking into this house was both shocking and disappointing. While the posted photos of the inside are misleading, it was the outside of the house that was completely unacceptable. EVERY deck and outside stair case are a major safety hazard. Broken boards everywhere, 2 of the 5 steps completely broken with 1 step trying to balance on a wood block, and my personal favorite is the main deck where the railing has detached itself from the house with major screws sticking out. Completely unsafe and cant be used. Another favorite is the broken window in the kitchen - instead of cleaning up the broken glass, they actually put a board over the broken window with all of the shards of glass contained as well. The downstairs fire alarm was wires sticking out of a wall and about 1/2 of the lightbulbs didnt work. Not to mention, the complete moth and ant infestation in the master bedroom. We spent one night killing 11 moths after 1 landed on my pillow, only to wake up to more moths in the morning. And then an ant crawled across my husbands face while sleeping the next night. The thing that angers me the most is I was told the owner knew about the damages and yet still took my money and gave me no warning that the house was completely misrepresented on the rental site. And these damages are not only due to the hard winter - this is years of neglect. We lost a day and a half of our vacation waiting around for someone to come fix the damages and then waiting to be moved to a house that wasnt one giant safety hazard. If we had small children, we wouldve been forced to leave for their safety.Going to Lake Tahoe is supposed to be fun and relaxing and I dont want anyone else to have to experience what we did.Make sure the owners have fixed ALL of the damages before you rent this house.

Disappointed
The online photos do not accurately reflect the condition of this property. The house is in serious need of repair and updating. The carpets are stained throughout, at least 40% of the light fixtures don’t work, and the decks and railings are in disrepair. The majority of the windows are missing screens which leads to various insects flying in the house. It’s too hot in the summer not to open the windows, no air conditioning. I would not recommend this property and it would be problematic for families with small kids. Despite this we enjoyed our visit, it’s just not advertised or priced appropriately.
