We had a lovely couple of days here in Egg Harbor, suited our needs really well! Rick and Emily are gems.

We had a great time for our little getaway. This location is nice and I loved the more rural, quiet setting. The hosts were super attentive to ensure we had everything we needed. The house was well stocked - to even include a first aid kit that came in handy for a wasp sting I got on one of our hikes. We did lots of hiking, biking, and a wonderful surprise - can't wait to see this again - Ridges Sanctuary visit in Bailey's Harbor. We are already planning our return visit!

Reminds me of an old school farm house; modest, simple and practical.

Property had 3 comfortable beds, a homey atmosphere, and the hosts were very helpful with information, and brought brochures about the area prior to our visit.
The property was conveniently located to the town, but was on a quiet street.

It's an odd little place. The downstairs is a bedroom/sitting room with two double beds and a half bath. The upstairs is like a 1-bedroom apartment. The circular stairs are wobbly and steep, so use caution. The location is great as it is not right on 42. Egg Harbor is easily walkable. The hosts are communicators although it would have been nice to know BEFORE we got there that the cottage was central to staging the 4th of July parade. It's not your typical VRBO.

While the property is not modern, such as we prefer, it satisfied all of our needs extremely well. Everything from cleanliness, to check-in and check-out, and that in between, was all we could have asked from the experience. The owner met us at check-in and check-out. Both he and his wife couldn't have been more accommodating. We will return to this property in the future.

We were in Egg Harbor for an extended weekend and this rental was perfect for us. It was very clean, the house exactly what we expected based on the posting and we loved that we had the option to walk into the village if we didn’t want to drive. It was quiet but still close to everything which is exactly what we were looking for. We’d definitely consider renting again.

I have been using VRBO for >15 years and have never had a bad experience. Things started off odd with a call from the host informing me he made ice and asking if I could call upon arrival. Upon arriving I did give the host a call to let them know we got in ok. I then received a call back from the host, who did not listen to my message, and also informed me that his wife "might be stopping by". Sure enough a few hours later his wife stopped by with new pillow cases for one of the beds. At this point pointed out that we had "too many guests". (We are family of 5)Unfortunately I had not realized that I had not put in the correct number of children in my search, and even though this listing sleeps 8 you had to pay for "extra guests". Later on that evening just after we had finished dinner, the host stopped by yet again - unannounced - proceeded to walk right in the door and sit down at the dinner table where my husband was still eating dinner. He then told us we owed $444 more dollars for the 2 extra children we had. I was so shocked, and felt very violated by the uninvited entry into the home we were staying. My husband and I decided to send 2 of our children to stay in a cabin with my mother for the trip after that. I am disappointed to have to write this review because the location was perfect and the house had it's charms. Although we did have to air the house out upon arrival, as it had strange smell, and there is only 1 AC unit for the entire house - everything else was ok.

Emily and Richard were extremely helpful with the last minute booking for a Holiday weekend. We found the house to be no frills but perfect for what we needed. Nice drive way for our boat and an outdoor plug to charge our batteries. The house was extremely clean and we will definitely stay again in the spring or fall. The upstairs gets extremely hot we used the fan and opened the windows which let in a nice breeze. The area is safe and we walked to shops and restaurants several times during our stay. Thank you Emily and Richard for everything. I’m sure we’ll be back!

This is a no frills rental. The refrigerator and range were older than me (over 55…..). Hence no photos of the kitchen I guess…..the spiral staircase was scary and wobbly. Thankfully there was only 2 of us so we didn’t need to use. Downstairs is its own suite.
Having to take your own towels (bath and hand towels….) with was annoying. Means more laundry to do when you get home! There is no washer/dryer or dishwasher at the house.
However, on the plus side, the yard was perfect for groups or families. Safe, huge, fire pit etc. and the house location was perfect for exploring Door County. Egg Harbor IS easily walkable, but don’t recommend walking back to the house in the dark.

Four dear friends stayed together here for our annual girlfriend weekend, and we absolutely loved our stay! We looked forward to starting our mornings with a casual breakfast, and returning at the end of activity filled days. The rooms were comfy cozy and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you’d need to prepare a meal. The beds were very comfortable and with two bathrooms, one with a shower/bath, this home was perfect for us! Rich and Emily, the hosts/owners of this home couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. They shared lots of information about the fab events going on during our stay, and provided lots of printed material about the area in the shared spaces of the home. We were never at a loss of what to do during our stay, and we would have loved to stay even longer - next time! They were 5-star hosts, and we’d love to return someday soon. It’s also very conveniently located to everything you’ll want to do in Egg Harbor and the other areas of Door County. Thank you Rich and Emily! We loved it here and so will you!

Overall the property itself felt like country.. just what my mom and I wanted. Quiet and not a lot of thru traffic or noise. The house was ok for the most part, it was clean but dated. It could use a little updating, especially the carpet upstairs. When I booked the property I did not realize there was a spiral staircase to the kitchen, shower and main quarters which made things a little tough, especially for my 76 year old mom. However, the wide staircase outside and a a nice big deck that led to the upstairs made it easier to navigate. Rich, the host was fantastic. I really appreciated all the Door county maps and information that was available at the house. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay at Rich and Emily's. If you're unfamiliar with Door County (as we were), we found that Egg Harbor is a great place to stay, since it's pretty centrally-located and makes getting to the other towns easy.

We like this property because, your actual only minutes away from the downtown, you feel like you’re in country settings. If your looking for all the amenities, this may not be for you. If you want to retreat after a busy day and watch deer and birds this is the place. We loved the fire pit.

Very much a Wisconsin cottage. Nice large yard. Easy access and off the main road.
Beautiful fall colours in Door county.
Met the Al Johnson family again. I was one of the Swedish waitresses at Al's in the 70's.

Quiet home just across the road from “downtown” Egg Harbor. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Owners are very friendly and interested in ensuring a good visit.

My adult son and myself were there for 3 nights with our goal to fish all 3 days on Lake Michigan. They had a U shaped driveway which made it easy to park the boat and rehook. The unit nicely accommodates 2 people or Parents and children or 2 couples as it has 2 levels with complete living areas in the top level and 2 beds and a living room on the lower level.. Rich and Emily checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. A great value for the price.

The Farmette has a great location but no frills. The house is secluded yet close to downtown. There is also a lot of space on the property, with the 2 levels being nice. The home is not updated, and the age of items and decorations causes the house to feel less clean. They do not provide towels, and are very strict on the 10am check out time. This caused us to have to wake our napping baby to vacate when they came to clean. Overall we did not feel as if we got good value for our money, but groups who value the location above amenities may disagree.

We really enjoyed our stay at Woldt’s. It was clear our hosts know and love Door County. Everything was as described and our hosts were good at communicating. It was a great spot for our small family!

Some surprises
There were no instructions prior to arrival for check in. The air conditioning is a window unit upstairs and no air conditioning in the lower level. The host told us to keep the blinds closed and the temperature would cool down at night. When we asked about the description on VRBO that said ‘air conditioning’ the host responded “what do you want me to do” and would 50.00 fix it. We didn’t want money or a free nights stay we wanted the air conditioning that was implied. That doesn’t help in 90 degree weather. Host did not indicate that the 4th of July parade would be staged on the street in front of the cottage. The host used the cottage’s lawn furniture and set up coolers and seating for the parade participants in the front yard. We were told if we want to get our car out of the driveway to leave the cottage by 9:30am before the parade started at 1:30. There were no checkout instructions nor a home binder with Wi-Fi and general instructions for the cottage.
We will not rent this property again.

Perfect weekend getaway
We took my mother in law to Door County for a quick getaway. The property is in a great location.. close to town but you still feel a bit removed. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Use of the wood firepit was a nice bonus!

Great location, two floors is a real plus.
Great place conveniently located near everything but yet private and quiet. Easy check and very accommodating owners who live locally and had great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. It’s very nice to rent from local, responsive owners. We are looking forward to returning and renting from Richard and Emily again.

Great property and location
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage had everything we needed to cook several meals. The space was plenty large for us and our two kids. The outdoor space is great for playing yard games, grilling, having a campfire and just hanging out. The location has plenty of privacy and has a rural feel, but is in fact just a short walk from Egg Harbor.

Location! Location! Location!
This property is walking distance from Egg Harbor but also a short drive to any place else you may want to go. It has a old farm house charm and is clean. We would stay again. Had everything you might need. AND they have good fry pans - I know that seems like a small thing but I can't tell you how many place have crummy pans so you can't make eggs:)
