The property was great. It was a complete nature experience. We stayed in the Chilemate room. We were in the trees and we’re engulfed in nature. The view was great. Wandering around the property provided us with a great opportunity to see animals and pick fruit. My husband woke up almost every morning at five a.m. to wander the property and take photos of wildlife with the properties doggy companion. Also breakfast was excellent every day we were there. The community in walking distance felt safe during all hours of the day. Plus had excellent food choices for lunch and dinner.
The property is hot. As expected but it was very hot. Bugs were a major issue. We were moved into another room because the room was over taken by ants our last night on the property. The ants are very attracted to water. Our balcony was covered in ants that stung painfully. We were able to get rid of the ones on the balcony that stung. However, once we went into the bedroom we realized there was another large colony under the sink. We didn’t know they were brown harmless ants until we started to try to get rid of them. After being stung by the black ants that took over our balcony we found this nest while securing our room of black ants and were terrified thinking they were the same kind. These were much harder to get rid of because it seems they moving into or living under the sink.
we contacted the owner and we’re moved somewhere else. Although this isn’t something necessarily in control of the owner, it was a big inconvenience and soiled our last night.

The location was really neat, and a once-in-a-lifetime stop. It was also nice to have the communal breakfast/kitchen area and we had some nice time with other guests as a result of that layout.
The power and water to the property was even more inconsistent than the other places we stayed on the island. It was also extremely warm in the unit and the ceiling fans were not so effective at cooling things down.

Novelty of staying in the jungle, the breakfast, relaxed vibe.
Wifi didn't work for most of the stay, would have been nice to see the staff a bit more, restaurants advertised in the room had stopped serving so we went without dinner because the walk back into town was long and dark and we didn't have transport, spiders in the room (but we went in knowing they would be there!).

A hotel of crooks, don't rely on anything in their advertising. Starts at the room level and continues with the demand for an additional 10% to the price when paying by credit card!! And beyond any service from them and beyond, especially Megan the owner of the house who doesn't bother to answer even when she shouts and thinks she's doing us a favor. Be careful not to get here!!@

Cool setup in the jungle, staff are helpful, you'll definitely get to brush up on your Spanish.
Not a negative... but know that it's in a jungle setting, it's remote, it's open to the elements, there are all forms of bugs inc big, chunky spiders and that might not be your thing!

Very nice resort in nature, the room was stunning. Good breakfast, and I loved the atmosphere in the common area, just chatting with other guests and sharing tips. Great for a solo traveler or a couple.
My room was open, and I had quite a few insects. Guess that's what you get in the jungle!

Great location and concept
It needs more professional management. More cleanliness and hygiene.

Nice place to stay if you enjoy being surrounded by nature!
we loved our room and everything about this accommodation except for the mattress that wasn’t comfortable and the fact that they only had 1 person to make breakfast for all guests … so be ready to wait at least an hour to have your breakfast serve..

Breakfast was 10/10. I don’t know how they made the food they did in the jungle. The outdoor kitchen was epic. Best jackfruit hummus ever and fruit
Didn’t ever want to leave. Nothing was wrong.

We loved the terrace on the cabin and the hangmat. Also the staff was Always very Kind and even came when we asked for Help about a big spider inside the cabin. Be prepared of being in the jungle! It is wonderful and full of insects also. ;-) also the breakfast is sweet and included.
If it is possible we would close the slot between roof and cabin that no spiders/insects are coming in. This is the only Thing.

Great staff and good breakfast each day! Hung out at kitchen a lot and met lots of great people! Megan is awesome!
Bathroom near kitchen would be nice, quite a hike for us when needing to go. A couple of chairs in room. Only one chair and can’t sit on the bed because of netting. Wash cloths in rooms.

Our cabin was high in canopy with an amazing view of the volcano. The environment is beautiful here, we heard a continuous symphony of birds, monkeys, and creatures. Breakfast at the lodge is great. The staff and management were friendly and very helpful. Even though the power was out throughout the island because a tropical storm had passed through the day before we arrived, Selvista accommodated us and tried to make us comfortable. Thank you!

We had such a great stay here in the jungle. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with any questions that we had. The breakfast was always delicious. The dogs are super friendly and will even come and visit if you allow them to. We saw monkeys nearby in the trees. There’s always a fresh selection of fruit from the property to enjoy. We felt fully immersed in nature!
It was a little out of the way (25 min walk to town for food) but I think this is part of the jungle experience. There’s also two restaurants that will deliver right to your room!

Open windows with screens, great airflow into room, breathtaking view of jungle, organic food, animals were well taken care of, felt like we were sleeping outside, jungle sounds, butterflies, birds, hammock on balcony, good communication prior to arrival, amazing shower, clean bathroom, comfortable bed, very romantic, worth the extra money, access to full sized fridge to store personal items, reception will arrange for atv and scooter and tour bookings.
Power to room kept going on and off. Being directly inside the jungle means there are a lot of flying insects (they don't bite)(Not a negative, just be aware of what you are signing up for)

Truly exceptional stay.
We booked for five nights and ended up staying thirteen. It was very hard to leave this place. The rooms are of a very high standard and the views from each property have been really considered during construction. This is true eco luxury with nature all around. The free fruit was amazing and always plentiful. Megan is super women organising everything we asked the rest of team are so friendly and accommodating and always smiling. We will miss you all thank you 🙏
Nothing!!
The walk from the bus stop the first day with our bags was a little hot but the secluded farm is well worth the effort.

The setting and scenery of this place is just phenomenal. Both the shared kitchen and my room offered exceptional views. Facilities in the room were great (except for the fan). You feel really away from it all. Still the place isn’t too remote as there is solid wifi and a couple of restaurants within 30 minutes walk. The perfect mix for me.
When you meet them, the owners are very nice and sociable. However generally I felt they were mostly absent and their day-to-day staff is rather distant, doesn’t really know how to relate to foreigners.
Another slight negative in otherwise fantastic stay was the heat: the ceiling fans do rotate, however so slowly that they don’t really have any effect. Following complaints about that, a mechanic was sent who told me that the fans were for slow ventilation only, not for cooling people.

secluded in the jungle, cool compost toilet
staff wasn’t super helpful in getting a ride to leave the property, room could have been nicer considering the price

Delicious breakfast with home made pancakes and fresh fruits from the farm. Fruits were available to eat for free all the time in the kitchen.
Beautiful tropical fruit farm in the dschungel.
The internet was quite slow.
The entrance of our room is a metal gate where Dschungel animals can come in and out. It would add much peace of mind during sleep when there is a bit more barrier between the personal living space and outside nature than a mosquito net around the bed.

Right in the middle of the jungle, amazing scenery and wildlife on your doorstep. The owner was super helpful too and helped organise trips for us.
We arrived at the accommodation at 8pm but were unable to get any dinner as the two restaurants advertised as delivering to the property both said they were closed when contacted. I know this isn’t the accommodations fault, it’s just worth knowing that food options are sparse!

This is are second time staying here and both houses were great! Beautiful places in the jungle, with trees all around you. Leave directly from here to hike the volcano (tour guide needed). Beds were very comfortable and staff was great. Yes, there's some bugs- but your in the jungle. Looking forawrd to staying here again. Book a massage right on your patio.

The location and seclusion

Rooms are lovely and the view is amazing. It’s in the middle of the jungle so what you might call “rustic”.

The views are spectacular. I love that this is a unique lodging experience and incorporated nature into our stay. The staff was very helpful.
We were in a small car, so the drive to the facility was a little difficult.
