Our cozy home sleeps 8 and offers off-street parking for up to four cars. It's located just 1 1/4 blocks from the beach and the seventh house from the Atlantic Ocean yet on a canal to the bay side of coastal highway. You'll be close to popular destinations like Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, and Ocean City.
Take a short walk to some great food options like New Big Fish/Rosenfeld’s Jewish Deli, Misaki Sushi, Grotto's Pizza, and more. Boating enthusiasts can bring their boat to our 23' dock or rent one (bait & tackle 1 block south) and enjoy fishing and crabbing right from the dock. You can also relax on the private deck with a gas grill, gas fire pit, spare tanks, table & chairs, umbrella & Adirondack chairs.
Our second-floor screened porch has a view of the canal, dock, deck and fire pit. You can also access Little Assawoman Bay and Assawoman Bay, including Fenwick Island restaurants like Catch 54, all the way to Ocean City and the Atlantic. The canal also provides access north to Indian River and Rehoboth Bays, including the restaurants of Dewey Beach.

My family and I loved staying here. Perfect location on the canal and a 5 min walk to a beautiful beach. Since it’s in south Bethany you’re away from the crowds but only a 5 min drive to the main Bethany strip. We would definitely stay here again.

We were within walking distance of the beach as well as a shopping plaza. The boardwalk and additional shopping was just a short drive away. The house was perfectly cozy and the outdoor spaces were our favorite. The patio with fire pit and seating along the canal was great for evening gatherings. Dining out in the sun room was amazing, especially with the ocean breeze coming through the large windows.

Lovely location in S Bethany. Easy to get to Bethany, Dewey, Ocean City and Rehobeth. Grocery stores and great restaurants near by. House on canal with all needed amenities. Owner extremely responsive and very helpful. Kitchen is a little dated, but very functional.

Overall, the place met our needs. There were a few hiccups - second floor shower leaked and the sink in each bathroom drained slowly...and then the dryer broke but was repaired in time for the next tenant. All is all, everything worked out ok for our group.

The location is amazing! Just a 5 minute walk to the beach. The layout of the house is great with a nice porch to eat on and a great back deck.

Relaxing and great location!
Great place to unwind and take advantage of the surrounding area. Easy access to beach and we enjoyed the back patio and second floor sun room. TV systems in all rooms were a major plus. Owner made process real easy.

Relaxing Off Season Stay
My wife and I returned to this nice space in November. Bethany is quiet in the off season, which is what we were looking for. Very relaxing. The outdoor space and firepit is great and the living space in the house is also good.

It was a lovely house. The back deck/yard area is beautiful. We appreciated the fire pit and the ability to be outside so much. The house was very clean and accommodating for our group of 6. An FYI...the house states it has 3 queen beds, actually there was only 1 queen bed., the other 2 are doubles.
The homeowner was very easily accessible and helpful.

Great outdoor space and convenient location!
Loved the outdoor space and convenient location to the beach. We enjoyed the large screened in porch and fire pit. I would recommend mounting the TV above the fireplace and adding a couch/chair for additional living room seating. Also, an additional set of dishes would be helpful since our group of 7 went through the plates at every meal.

Perfect getaway even w terrible weather!
Perfect little getaway house, fully stocked w all you’ll need kitchen wise, had extra propane available for fire pit and grill, it rained the whole time and we still had a lovely time just staying indoors. Screened in porch for the win!

Relaxing and great location!
We were very impressed at the responsiveness of our host and the sweet location of the house. The dock and walking distance to the beach are both hits and I plan on coming back. The house was clean, exactly as presented online and the perfect getaway to relax! We appreciate all of the questions Patrick answered before and during our stay!

This place was in a great location and we loved all of the amenities. The 3 season porch was definitely our favorite feature. Patrick was great, highly recommend him as a host!

Disappointed!
My girlfriends and I planned a girlfriends' getaway weekend (no husbands, no children, just us ladies) and wanted a property close to the beach that had a firepit. These were our only MUST HAVES. We chose this property because the post said it had both. Prior to arrival, the owner was extremely communicative. Check-in was super easy and the house was "nice enough for us". It's nothing fancy, but it was nice, clean, and spacious enough for four adult women. There were ants on the screened porch, but that wasn't a big deal for us. We planned to sit around the firepit on our second night there, and realized the firepit wouldn't ignite. I immediately called the owner to troubleshoot the problem. We tried putting on a new propane tank and made sure the tank was properly screwed onto the firepit...it still wouldn't ignite! The owner said he was unable to come by and would check to see if his maintenance guy was available to come check it out in a few days. IN A FEW DAYS??? We only rented the property for the weekend, and he wasn't able to come fix the problem until after we checked out. Needless to say, we were disappointed. After all, one of the main reasons we chose this property was because it had a firepit! I asked the owner if he would be willing to give us a small refund due to his inability to come fix the firepit during our stay. This was, in my opinion, the fair and "right" thing to do given the circumstances. Needless to say, the owner refused a partial refund and ignored my messages. This is unfortunate, as I have never had a negative experience at a VRBO property and have never left a negative review. THIS IS MY FIRST!! We paid A LOT of money for a weekend stay at a home that was supposed to have a working firepit. The owner dismissed our concerns and did not make an attempt to fix the problem while we were there. (We stayed here in late Sept - early October 2020). Extremely disappointed in the owner's lack of concern/service!!

Perfect Fall Getaway
We had a wonderful time during our stay. The owners clearly have put a ton of time and care into the outdoor space and we enjoyed hours sitting by the canal, grilling lunch and dinner, and relaxing by the fire pit at night. For an avid paddleboarder, you can’t beat being able to get right on the water and explore many different canals and waterways from the backyard. We loved the screened in porch for dinner at night and coffee in the morning and the location was a short drive to many restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend, and we would definitely stay again.

Great location
Location was great! Very short walk to the beach and right on a canal. Quick bike ride into Bethany or longer bike ride into Fenwick and quick car ride to OC. The property owner required an extra payment to cover any damages (or a very large damage deposit) so I thought the house would be in tip top top shape, but there were a few small issues (ants in the dining room/screened in porch, one of the burners on the stove didn't work, the beds had little support, no one had cleaned under the beds, all the plastic chairs on the deck were cracked). Overall, we really enjoyed the house. Not a luxury experience, but a very nice place to stay!

Great House
Property and amenities were amazing both inside and outside the house. Great view of the canal. We took advantage of the different options for enjoying the outside deck area, from eating crabs at the dining table, drinking coffee in the Adirondack chairs, and sipping wine around the fire pit. Inside the house was very comfortable. We were impressed with how the kitchen was fully stocked. Most rentals give you the bare minimum of plates, cups, utensils, pans, etc. but we had plenty of options. We would highly recommend renting this house.

Wonderful, peaceful getaway
My family of four stayed here for about a week to take in some off-season (low crowd) beach, and do our remote work/remote school from a more interesting location. Patrick's house was wonderful. The walk to the beach was totally easy (and I watched sunrise every morning). The canal out back gave our remote work a calm feeling. We'd love to go back after we learn how to kayak and explore the bay. The wifi even held up to all four of us working and doing video calls simultaneously. Communication with Patrick was simple and timely.

Great House
We were in South Bethany last week and enjoyed staying here. It is on a canal two blocks from the ocean. It looks like the living room and deck furniture were recently purchased, and the carpet appeared new. There is a lovely view of the water, and the neighborhood is quiet. It is an easy walk to the beach and near a wonderful gourmet store where we got groceries. There were beach chairs and an umbrella that were in good shape that we used. The only negative is that the dishwasher needs to be upgraded. Otherwise it was a glorious week in a lovely property at the sea.

Overall very nice place for a vacation
We rented property for 4 weeks. Overall very nice. Owner was very responsive to any questions or issues. Easy walk to the beach. Beach is very quiet and uncrowded, more crowded on weekends of course. Very nice on rear of property overlooking canal. Used grill many nights. Rented kayak for one week and enjoyed rowing through canals and out to “bay”. Outdoor shower very convenient for returns from beach.

Bayside retreat with easy access to the beach
Prefect house for our small family. Patrick was very responsive to questions about WiFi and propane. Great little fire pit in the back was a nice place to relax after a long day at the beach. Only minor things I’d highlight for future guest. Kitchen is a little older but as advertised. The canal was on the smaller side and full of seaweed which made it impossible for fishing and crabbing. Our son was pretty young but could be a disappointment for older children. However you have ready access to the larger bay for those old enough for kayaking and boating - so it goes both ways. Overall we love that part of Bethany and would certainly come back.

Warm days and cool nights by the fire pit
Nicely located property to the stores and beach. Enjoyed the porch and deck along with the fire pit. There are some stains on the couch and some of the bed spreads and ants in the kitchen. Patrick had an exterminator come. Overall we had a great time, the house was great and so was Patrick. Thank you for letting us share your home.

Fo not be fooled by these reviews.
This is way overpriced. Lay out is just plain weird. There are 3 bedrooms and one bath on the entry level and the kitchen and living room are on the upper level. There's also a bedroom and a bath on the upper level but you have to walk thru the bathroom to get to that bedroom. There's NO PLACE to eat except at the kitchen bar which would handle maybe 3 people and the living room which is really all part of the same space. So evidently this is where people eat and that has caused the couch to get very dirty and cushions were also ripped in several places. I didn't want my kids to sit on it. The couch is the center of a home and for 4k a week I want to sit on a CLEAN couch. When I told the owner and he brushed me off and said he didnt have time in between guests to fix it, BS it takes 20 mins for a company to deliver a couch and we would have gladly allowed one to be delivered
We asked for a partial refund and this guy never responded. There's a dining table outside on a screened in porch on the upper level You have to walk through the living room to get there. It is so hot no living human can eat in there. The room has plastic windows that you have to lower to let the air come through but it still gets very hot in there (the plastic is like boat isenglass). These windows are loose and rickety and some are broken but they still go up and down if you keep trying. If it rains and those windows aren't closed, the carpet, chairs and anything you leave on that table will get wet.
The only way to the canal side of the property from inside the house is thru one of the down stairs bedrooms or thru that dining porch thingy. The house actually has a small deck accessible thru sliding doors in the living room but we never used it bc it was very small and looked unsafe. (I asked Patrick the owner if it was safe but he didn't answer me).
The outside was nice. It had a deck right up to the water with chairs and a gas fire pit. It didn't have any grass like the adjacent properties just old mulch over weed barrier. Don't waste your money on this overpriced dump.

We had a wonderful stay! Home was very comfortable and owner was easy to work with. Kitchen was very well stocked. Great location that was an easy walk to the beach!
