Incredibly comfortable beds, and the village was perfect - close to all areas that we wanted to visit and the locals were soooo friendly. Good sized seating area outside and safe for dogs as fully enclosed (we didn’t bring ours, however.) The local shop, just two minutes walk from the property, was handy and sold most things that we needed. Walks were beautiful, without even having to get in the car.
Unfortunately, on the night we arrived, the cottage was cold. Only one storage heater had been turned on and there was no kindling or paper for lighting the woodburner. For October,
this wasn’t good enough, as we were cold all night. Once we had bought wood the next day, all was well but I expect enough wood to be provided for a first burn, especially since the heating was off - VERY unusual to not have enough heat in a holiday let.
The kitchen was well equipped generally but one very thin tea-towel for the entire week, and no oven gloves, made it impossible to take hot things out of the oven without burning ourselves. The freezer was totally full of ice, needing defrosting, and was therefore unusable. (I sent a photo of this to the owner but it wasn’t dealt with.)
The kitchen is very dark and has insufficient lighting. One of the bulbs was broken, as was a bulb in the bathroom. The cutlery drawer needed cleaning (I did this).
One thin, medium sized towel for each of us was not good enough. We messaged the owners, informing them of broken bulbs, lack of wood and heat, freezer problems and asked for more towels. Despite an apology, the only thing that was dealt with was the bulb in the kitchen (still insufficient- we could barely see what we were cooking in the evening.) We were also shocked that the bulb was changed whilst we were out- we expect to be informed if someone is going to enter the property that we have rented. A simple message to arrange a time would have been far more professional and we were not happy about this at all.
The bathroom needs attention- not particularly clean, with mould around the bath and shower screen.
A few adjustments in these matters would make SO much difference as it could be the perfect place to stay. Unfortunately, as it is at present, it feels under par. Fewer locked cupboards and signs on all light switches telling us to turn lights off, as well as real plants in the garden (why would anyone put plastic plants in a garden?

Great location for visiting lots of different places.
Lovely cosy cottage and the outdoor picnic bench in good sun spot!
The only negative would be finding a parking space.

The location was brilliant a quaint little village with a shop and a pub both in walking distance, buss route and driving distance to many of North Wales main attractions. Beautiful views and stunning scenery!
There was nothing not to like!
The weather was fab all week too to top it off

Everything was absolutely fine but parking was an issue

Very well presented smart but homely cottage. Warm but a useable multi fuel stove makes it compulsory to light in sometimes in winter.
Well looked after and a gentleman next door available in case of problems.
Nothing.

Everything about this cottage and it's location was delightful. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are lovely. The host, Bev was very helpful too. The scenery is stunning and there is a huge amount to do and see in the area . There is a little shop in the village that is open everyday which was hugely useful, and the pub was great fun. Everyone was very friendly which made our holiday even more special.
It would be a good idea to take your own chopping board as we couldn't find one in the kitchen.

Good property for the price. The property was very clean, the rooms were spacious, and almost all facilities included a nice back garden. There is also a Londis and a Pub right behind the property which is very handy. Fire Place is very good as well.
No dedicated parking. Street parking is available but is usually occupied and since the streets are very narrow it can be difficult to find an alternative spot. Also, a few basic things like shower gel and hand wash were missing which you usually expect from such properties.

Well equipped kitchen, good wifi, comfy beds, fireplace, nice garden at the back for evening drinks
It's a bit hard to find parking at times but not the host's fault

lovely village and surrounding countryside Cottage needs a deep clean, thick black mould in Bath and shower, grubby furniture and under furniture thick dust, lots of cobwebs, spiders and various other insects.
you must have a vehicle to reach Betws y Coed for public transport as it is a 4 mile walk on a dangerous road. very limiting as no regular bus transport, you have to pre book a flexible minibus which was very unreliable. we had booked the train ride up Snowden and it caused no end of stress to get to Llanberis as normal buses only run from Betws y Coed to get anywhere. you are virtually stranded in Penmachno with no reliable transport. IT SHOULD BE VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT IF YOU WANT TO GO SIGHTSEEING YOU NEED A CAR TO GET TO BETWS Y COED! LAST FLEXI BUS IF IT TURNS UP IS AROUND 6.30 pm from BETWS Y COED. it made it very limiting to visit anywhere else. Cottage only suitable for hikers and mountain bikers. YOU REALLY MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TRANSPORT TO STAY IN THIS LOVELY VILLAGE! we initially at arrived at Betws y Coed by train, it was after the last flexi bus to Penmachno, THERE ARE NO TAXIS!!!! we were stranded in Betws and only managed to get to the cottage at 1.30 am as a Bar man in a hotel in Betws y Coed kindly offered to give us a lift with our luggage to the Cottage in Penmachno, we finally got there at 1.30 am in the morning!! very very stressful and tiring as we had travelled from South Wales. We are both in our 70’s and we’re absolutely worn out when we finally reached the cottage. Stressed out trying to carry out arranged pre booked activities with no reliable public transport from the village, constantly having to worry about getting transport from Penmachno to BETWS Y COED
A LIVING NIGHTMARE, and would not wish this to happen to anyone else!

Not being able to tweak the heating meant that the house was awfully warm.
