Perfect house for our family! The porch view is spectacular. Kitchen had everything we needed. We had a wonderful week, and plan to come back!

Excellent location on beach. Facility great for our family configuration.

We did a family trip here and it worked great the deck is perfect for viewing the sunrise and you are steps to the beach. Very quiet and secluded there is also 2 kitchens one upstairs and one downstairs. If your bring kids there are some steps I wish we had brought a baby gate. We’re definitely coming back. Also the amount of wildlife you see on the island is unreal.

Would definitely rent again.. nicely furnished with very adequate kitchen supplies. Very roomy.. we had 6 adults, 4 children under 6 and an infant. If owners wanted to know of needed improvements I’d say shrubbery needs attention as does outdoor shower area, But overall we were very pleased and would highly recommend this property.

Great location
My adult children wife and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the porch overlooking the ocean. This is a great location and the beach was fantastic. It is an older house but very clean. We had a great time.

The best beach trip for a family!
This large house was perfect for our family vacation, where we could be confident that we were limiting our exposure to others. The house has two fully functional floors, each with a master bed/bath, living room, and kitchen! It will comfortably sleep 10.
We loved being right on the beach, and we spent many hours enjoying the view from the second story porch. There were plenty of rocking chairs and a picnic table outside upstairs and more rocking chairs (no view) downstairs.
The kitchens were well stocked with all of the plates, cups, flatware, utensils, and appliances! We brought out own air fryer and keurig.
We have an infant and brought all things needed for him, as there are no baby items available to use. There were lots of boogie boards and some sand toys! There are two different wash areas outside for cleaning up after leaving the beach. It was perfect to avoid mountains of sand coming home with us.
We rented a golf cart for getting around the island and enjoyed that. I wouldn’t say it was necessary for us in particular because we mostly stayed in and at the beach. It was fun to Take a ride around the island and see the wildlife, visit the pool, or get ice cream. Make sure that you get the amenity cards if you plan to do any shopping or eating on the island.
I can’t wait to come back to Tripp and would rent KC Island retreat again!

Absolutely perfect in every way!
I travel a lot and have booked many homes through Vrbo and this home was my absolute favorite. The family of four with two youngsters under age 5 had the entire downstairs which had two bedrooms and two baths, full kitchen and living room as well as patio and private entrances. This made our vacation wonderful to have upstairs as a “quiet zone” when needed.
Upstairs was perfect for the couple who had two bedrooms and private bathroom for them and their baby. Across the living room was the huge master suite which I had the pleasure of sleeping in and I was spoiled with complete privacy and having my own space including a private entrance to the porch.
The porch is HUGE with its 5 rocking chairs and other lounge chairs plus picnic table. But the view of the beach is something that has to be experienced live. I will miss that porch forever!
The family reunion consisted of 22 adults and 16 children (all staying at different homes throughout the island) and the house was the perfect setting for our first night greeting cocktail party.
This house has so much room, is well stocked, very clean, and I cannot say one thing negative about it.
Except, perhaps, that we would have enjoyed a gas grill instead of the small charcoal grill. Other than that, it was paradise.

Incredible views and beach access
This home is RIGHT in the beach on the perfect part of Tarpon Blvd where the beach is close to the home. The porch and provided rockers were a place we gathered often. The downstairs deck was utilized for family games and evening hangs. Well stocked kitchen. This home provided beautiful gathering places for our family and plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Be sure to bring toiletries and kitchen paper/plastic products (paper towels, trash bags, aluminum foil). We would definitely stay here again if we visit Fripp again!

Great house with beach view
We stayed here with my 2 sons and their families .. One son had a one year old so downstairs with kitchen was perfect for them. The location was perfect and and we woke up every morning to see deer grazing in back. We would definitely book again. The only suggestion would be to have extra blankets for beds.

Ideal location and good layout.
My family and I stayed at KC's Island Retreat in August 2019. Pros - Fabulous location, views, and good home layout. Cons - Home is a bit dated (older bathrooms, etc.) but still very functional. Kitchen utensils (dishes, etc) need to be renewed and better organized.

Beautiful home, great location!
We had a wonderful time on Fripp Island at KC's Retreat just last week for the Fripp Memorial Fishing Tournament! It was clean and very comfortable! Our only challenge was to discover that we were limited to a total of 4 parking spots-- with 10 adults on varying schedules coming for the 5-day stay. We worked it out, and everyone had a great time, but that would have been helpful to know ahead of time. Would highly recommend!

Great beach house
As advertised. Spent most of our time in the comfy rocking chairs on the fantastic porch or in the beach which was steps away. Furniture, especially couches, could use some updating and the downstairs is a little musty but overall a great beach house.

overall very pleased
My family stayed in this house and my brother and his family a few houses away. Ours was the better house. Some pros and cons:
Pros
The ocean porch is excellent.
There is the ability for a little separation with upstairs and downstairs independent of each other...nice if there are smaller kids
The beach was excellent...I have been to this part of Fripp in years past when that was not the case. It is great now and access is very simple. Shifting sands have been very favorable to this location.
The house was very well prepped for arrival and the check in and check out were simple.
The support staff were very reachable and arranged for a high chair for the toddler free of charge
Unlike most beach downstairs suites, this was bright, airy and very livable for those who were staying downstairs.....definitely not a dungeon
Cons
Weird aftermarket bath tub in the upstairs master....you have to go up three steps to get in....this was done to allow Jacuzzi
Check in at 4:00 which I know is common but inconvenient. The house was well prepared and this made that issue better. I spoke with our rep by phone who was very easily accessible and she did arrange for a 3:15 check-in although we didn't know that until around 3:00
The stairway from upstairs to down is a little dark and steep.....not a big deal
My only real complaint is that of the upstairs kitchen stove top. There are two working eyes and one grill which takes the place of the two other eyes, it would get hot but not enough to boil water.
There was an additional table top grill which could cook smaller items.
There is a second full kitchen downstairs which probably makes up for this but no one wants. to go up and downstairs while cooking. The staff were very accommodating about sending someone to check on this but in my opinion the stove top should be replaced particularly since there are very few local dining options.
Overall, an excellent experience and we will very likely return to this house.

Right on the beach!! Great if you have children!!
We rented Memorial Day week. Location is fabulous!! Best place we have ever rented. Home is older but very clean. It has 2 kitchens for food storage for big cookers like us. We will definitely rent this house next time we go back to Fripp.

Great decks and plenty of beach!
Our family spent spring vacation on Fripp Island and stayed in this spacious home. There was a ton of room, appliances worked great and the deck was awesome! There were a few days it was too chilly on the beach but there is a side deck that blocked all the wind and we were able to remain outside and enjoy the sun! The deck could use a touch up since there were a few boards that were loose and some nails sticking out but we were just careful when walking around the deck.

Our family had a wonderful time on Fripp Island. This house has a wonderful beach! And there was room for us to spread out and enjoy our stay... Will certainly want to return for another visit.

Great low tech, big view, real beach house
We loved this beach house! It's what a real beach house should look like. It's well decorated with lots of "beach" decor, wood paneling, cozy couches, and lots of space upstairs and down. It reminds me of the beach house I grew up in - old fashioned without much modern gadgets to distract you. The best part, without a doubt, is the extra large porch that overlooks the ocean with the wooden rocking chairs. That's where we spent most of our time.
Pros:
-the porches- upstairs and down- great place to hang out
-very short walk to the beach - many houses are on the beach but have to walk a ways to get there. This one is very close.
- four of the five bedrooms face the ocean
- two living rooms with two kitchens upstairs and down
- beaches not very crowded in this area
-great for a large family or multiple families sharing the house
Cons:
- it's not a modern house. The decor is old but comfortable. The kitchen appliances are older but work fine.
- the porch and deck are old. Some of the boards are pealing up and screws are exposed. Walk carefully.
- amenity cards. Don't buy them. The beach is all you need here and the best restaurants are in Beaufort
Pro tips: find Gay's Seafood and cook in. Do Shrimp Shack for lunch one day. Plums restaurant in Beaufort is awesome.
Overall, a great beach house. It's in a great part of Fripp where the houses are close to the beach and the crowds are thin. A shoutout to Natural Retreats too. They did a great job handling our reservation, suggesting fun things to do, and made the whole experience low stress and very enjoyable. We are definitely coming back.

Perfect for family vacation on great beach
Three generations enjoyed the surf, sand and indoor/outdoor living. Home is spacious and kitchens well equipped. Each bedroom area has own bathroom which gave privacy to each family unit. Decor is serviceable, furniture comfortable. Fripp Island location ideal beach for swimming, sunning and long walks.
