The property was a dream. We spent our days by the pool or at lidos by the sea and our nights exploring gorgeous towns surrounding the charming Martina Franca. The food options surrounding the property were limitless and our host, Jackie, gave us the best recommendations. We could not have asked for a more wonderful stay.

Our criteria for a villa were a) large enough to fit our group and b) walking distance to cafes etc. That’s surprisingly hard to find!
I found this place and booked it, thinking it looked a bit quirky and having modest expectations.
We were so surprised and delighted! Instead of being a cheesy replica as I suspected, the villa is a genuine palazzo with incredible original features! And the grounds are huge and beautifully gardened. The pool is sparkling, inviting and fresh. The whole thing is a dream.
But on top of that it’s right in the middle of a neighborhood and just a couple of blocks from several cafes and 10 minutes walk to the charming old town of Martina Franca. (We LOVED Martina Franca.)
If you don’t want to hear the sound of people and cars while you swim, or you want beautiful vistas and a sense of rural charm, this place isn’t for you. But if you want a luxe villa that still feels private but had almost immediate access to restaurants, shops and busy piazzas full of Italian life, this is the spot.
We loved had an amazing week, many thanks to Jackie and Giuseppe and “our neighbors” in Martina Franca!

We rented the villa with 2 other couples and it was a fabulous stay!
The place is stunning and best part it I’m right in town. Jackie the property manager is great and communicated with us promptly,
Only suggestion I had was to provide toiletries since we were coming international and had to run out in the morning to purchase.
Other than that tiny detail, this is one of the best villas and accommodates 10 people very comfortably!! We hired the chef Lucrezia one night based on Jackie’s reccomendation and she was excellent!

There are no words. Villa Valeria (the castle as we liked to call it) was spectacular. The inside was clean, bathrooms modern, bedrooms a good size, air-conditioning in all the bedrooms, and the outdoor area was stunning. Our property manager, Jackie, was just lovely to deal with. So were Giuseppe and Donatella, who took care of the property while we were there. Jackie had great recommendations for places to eat, things to do, and was very responsive. Everything she recommended was spot on. We also had her select and deliver some wines for us - outstanding selection. I highly recommend this property and Puglia Holiday Rentals. Thank you, Jackie, for a magical stay.

We could not have asked for a more helpful host Jackie went over and above expectations helping us plan the week. She arranged restaurants for us for dinner, and even arranged a private cook to come to the villa to prepare two dinners based on local recipes
The villa and grounds are impeccably maintained , and the location is central for day trips. The house is like a fairytale castle with spacious rooms, and comfortable furniture. Restaurants are walkable. Don’t miss restaurant Coco Pazzo- the best meal in Puglia

It’s difficult to describe how good this property is, marvellous, stunning, fantastic, all of them are correct. It’s the enormity of the property and grounds that’s difficult to comprehend until you actually walk around the place. I would strongly recommend not playing hide and seek here….it could go on for days!!
The kitchen had everything that we needed and the 2nd fridge is a great addition.
The outdoor seating and dining areas are large and comfortable as you would expect. The ones to the front of the property were used every morning for breakfast whilst the ones at the rear were used in the afternoon and evening times.
We rarely sat inside although there are several large dining tables spread across 3 different rooms should they be required in the cooler months.
The pool, which is the longest and deepest I’ve used for quite sometime, was very welcome on those 30 degree sunny afternoons.
OUR HOSTS
Jackie greeted us on arrival and talked us through all of the important stuff and then gave us great information about Martina Franca and the local area. She also booked a restaurant an olive oil tasting and a taxi for us, which we do thank you for.
Giuseppe was rarely seen but kept the place clean and tidy at all times….I suspect he’s a bit of an “early bird”..
Finally there are some great restaurants, bars and cafes within 15 mins walking distance, we particularly liked Gotha with its little garden court yard eating area.
We did a couple of wine tastings, one in M Franca and one just a short drive away (this one included food), both are well worth a visit.if you want to try the local grapes.
All in all a brilliant week, thanks Jackie and Giuseppe for all your help during our stay.

Our extended family of six adults (three couples) enjoyed the privilege of staying in this remarkable property for five days this September. It would be difficult to overstate the quality and scale of this villa. It truly is a castle. The pictures can’t capture the spaciousness of the interior, e.g. the height of the ceilings. We typically explored Puglia during the day returning to cool off in the pool in the late afternoon and cooking at home most evenings. The kitchen is more well equipped than any of the other seven rentals we’ve visited over the years. It’s a nice bonus to have the second fridge! As noted in the property description there is no AC for the ground floor bedrooms so that would be a nice addition if a proper solution presents itself.
Location was nice for short walks to village facilities and we easily visited Alberobello, Monopoli, Torre Canne, Polignano, Ostuni, etc.
Jackie was very helpful and readily available. We appreciated her helpful hints and professionalism. Giuseppe keeps the property looking great and was always busy but never intrusive.
All in all, a fabulous stay! Thank you.

Beautiful property and home. Jackie is very responsive and Giuseppe (the property manager who lives on the property) is there when you need him, and takes immaculate care of the property. The photos truly do not give the home justice. We spent most of our time enjoying the pool area, which is like a little resort.

Loved the property. Just on edge of Martina Franca, car hire very reasonable. Great to arrive back to such an idyllic place after visiting lovely places.

We had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful villa and a stunning location. Jackie sorted everything thing out down to the last amendment to our shopping list and every other thing we needed. Guiseppe looked after the villa and pool without being in your face. All in all a wonderful experience thank you.

What a beautiful property. Our family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Valeria. The location was ideal as we could walk to restaurants, shopping and site seeing in Martina Franca. I think I looked at every villa in Puglia and frankly this is the only one where you do not require a car. The pool was great on hot afternoons after taking a day trip or walking in town. The rooms were great size and our entire family enjoyed our stay. Having the two refrigerators was ideal. The grounds were immaculately manicured and Guiseppe who stays in a seperate house on the huge property kept the area clean every day. Jackie, the property manager, helped us with transportation arrangements, stocked the villa before our arrival, arranged a boat trip and a dinner cooked at the property and was available any time we needed her.. She selected some wines for our stay and we enjoyed them all.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to those looking for villas. We all felt like we were staying Castle with manicured grounds and a beautiful swimming pool. A big thank you to Jackie for all of her help.

We had a great time staying at this amazing villa. The bedrooms are all large and comfortable, the kitchen is huge and well equipped and the property gardens, pool and surrounds are absolutely amazing. Our host Jackie was incredibly helpful and gave us a great tour and introduction to Martina Franca. The old town is a short 10min walk up the hill and the local restaurant's are excellent (Osteria del Coco Pazzo is a must, fantastic local food).
It was also great to have a groundskeeper close by who took care of rubbish and pool maintenance. The place was in immaculate condition, we were amazed at how beautiful everything was every day.
Overall could not recommend this highly enough for a couple of families or a large group of friends. Cannot go wrong!

We stayed here for a week in September and we absolutely loved it. Good as the pictures are, they don't do justice to this beautiful house and its immaculately landscaped and tended gardens and driveway. The pool deck is huge and always offers a choice of sun or shade, no matter what time of day; the pool is a 'proper' adult pool, big enough and deep enough to swim; the huge porch area was everyone's favourite with its massive dining area - we were a party of seven adults and we could easily have fitted several more very comfortably at the table I think. The house combines character and tradition with modern necessities like fully equipped bathrooms, a dishwasher and plenty of fridge/freezer space. Every room and bathroom was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and lots of supplies were provided to help us settle in. There is a wonderful caretaker / groundsman onsite who is unobtrusive but makes sure the pool and surrounding area are cleaned every morning and any rubbish is promptly disposed of.
There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of the house - the local greengrocer is 5 mins away and has a superb array of beautiful produce. The old town is breathtakingly pretty, especially at night when lit up.
Jackie at Puglia Holiday Rentals was really helpful, going well beyond just renting us the house - she organised taxis for transfers and excursions and booked wine- and olive oil-tasting, both of which were excellent; the one issue we raised - a minor one regarding some kitchen utensils - was dealt with immediately. Views differed on highlights - some of us loved our cookery lesson on the porch and the amazing lunch that resulted, one voted the yachting trip top pick (both organised by Jackie), whilst others thought swimming, lazing on the pool deck and playing table tennis were best as it was so hard to drag ourselves away from such a beautiful house!
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor but the other three are upstairs and a short section of the staircase is quite steep: that and the depth of the pool (more than 5' at its shallowest) may be an issue if you are travelling with small children. It's perfect for older children and adult groups who don't mind some minor traffic noise when enjoying their luxurious oasis!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the magnificent Villa Valeria. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us!! We had plenty of room to spread out, which was much appreciated after our first week in Venice, Florence and Rome. The pool made the hot August days enjoyable, especially after site seeing in Alberobello, Grottaglie and the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Our sons enjoyed the soccer (futbol) court and ping pong table and my mother-in-law enjoyed afternoon strolls around the grounds. We were able to cook meals and play games in between outings to the surrounding area. Jackie was very helpful with dinner recommendations. It truly is an amazing place! Thank you!!

Spacious and opulent our party of 7 adults were lost in its many wings and grounds. Superbly planted to give the illusion of privacy whilst pizzerias, pollarias, chemists, cafe's, bakeries etc lie at the bottom of the elaborate 100m gated driveway.Jacobean banquet halls and grand dinning rooms remained unused as we rattled around this well equipped mansion for 11 days as the boys were in the five a side football pitch and table tennis area and the rest of us lazed on it's many terraces and veranda.Giuseppe emptying the bins and cleaning the pool and gardens every day before 8 was a great touch and the air con upstairs was a welcome relief to the humidity though, extending this to downstairs or fitting mosquito nets there would better keep it cool downstairs too; although it was uncommonly hot this summer!Recommended!

Fulvia e Matteo
