"Beachside Suites" suite 3 managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "Beachside Suites" are a collection of zero- and one-bedroom cozy condo's that are a stroll from our sandy shores, a short walk to downtown CB, and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!
The space;
Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s.
These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!
The entry to this 0 bedroom, 1 bath suite opens into a family room combined with an open dining area and a basic cookery station that is comprised of a combination of a microwave, coffee maker, and hotplate or toaster oven. A general variety of plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc. are also provided. Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen.
The unit's ONE King bed consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. Remember, linens are NOT provided to keep your rates low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Beachside Express Services).
There is one smart TV in each suite to utilize one's personal subscriptions (such as Netflix or Hulu) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Bring a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or another such casting device if looking to ensure all the tech comforts from home are available during your stay!
We equip each suite with its own combination of books, games, and misc. accessories to help cover the basis for our guests to enjoy themselves in rain or shine. Sometimes however, these items are removed from the suite and not replaced, and we do not always realize it (tsk tsk!). If you notice something we’ve bragged about missing please let us know!
The outdoor shower is located on the lower left of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!
Guest access;
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a portion of a respective deck, patio, or balcony.
PARKING: Each guest will have access to (1) ONE 8'x14' assigned parking space in the main lot off of Lake Park blvd S. Guests driving "oversized vehicles" (from SUVs to pickups) may have issues fitting comfortably. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come first serve basis.
Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and one row from Carolina Beach Lake. The property is set under a block from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday night, Movies at the lake each Sunday night, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning (refer to carolinabeach.org for additional info!).
Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.
• SWRE contractual quiet hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an enjoyable experience.

We stayed in unit 23 (formerly 3) it was very much reminiscent of an old motel. The manager Dale is super responsive to messages! Our unit was clean & the A.C. rocks! There is no efficiency sink so you'll be washing dishes in the bathroom sink. Old school coffee maker, microwave and hot plate are there along with a minimalist set of kitchen wares. The fridge is a decent medium size and clean. We met the resident grounds keeper Ms. Wanda & she was very friendly, talk to her about her plants! PARKING ** If you drive anything larger than a Honda civic, i.e. like our longbed crewcab truck, you will need to coordinate a different parking solution. ** Wanda and the property manager Dale were super accommodating to our situation and found us a truck friendly parking spot next door. This old school complex is in the perfect location on CB. Central to everything, and within walking distance to the amusement park. One small backstreet behind the complex and slightly to the south you'll find the beach access right there. This stretch of beach is the least populated and crowded, perfect for enjoying all the coast has to offer! Thank you Dale for a great stay!

I mean overall everything was good. It started out a little rocky with me trying to figure things out like how to open the lock box to get the house key out, exactly where I was supposed to park, where the trash went, which outdoor shower I was supposed to use, and why the internet connection would not work. The internet connection continued to go in and out the entire time I was there by the way. I just think it would help if there was actually somebody there in person to help you get situated when you first arrive. But once I got everything figured out the stay was great. The room was clean. I think there should have been more than 1 roll of tissue in the bathroom though. But overall it's a nice simple place to stay in a great location.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. While there are a few things which need to be fixed on the property, they didn't really hinder our enjoyment during our stay.
If we go to Carolina Beach in the future, we'd definitely consider staying here again!
4.0 / 10.0
The location is NOT oceanfront, like what shows up on expedia's map.
As for the building itself, like most of Carolina beach It's pretty old and worn out, but I cant fault them much for that. Most of the decking needs replacing. What was quite annoying was the mix of 10 different brands of Chinese cameras all old and worn staring at you from every spot on the property. Google Maps shows they used to have a pool, now its a gravel pit and part of the driveway :(
Speaking of the driveway, my assigned spot had the back of my car hanging partway into the street with no way to move forward or turn around other than blindly backing into a busy street.
Now the room itself. It's tiny with 8ft ceilings that slope inward making it seem even tinier. There were obvious mold spots on the ceiling above the bed, which look like they've like just been patched and painted over. Light fixtures were just old dated brass hotel lamps that were shabby and loose in the wall. Dresser was covered in what I'm hoping was white paint. Bathroom was downright sad. Drains were terrible.

The property was 1 minute walk to the beach. Plenty of food places nearby. We enjoyed the studio unit. Just right for the 3 day stay. Not busy at all...just right. Would stay here again.

Place was clean and in a perfect location. Pictures on listing should be updated to reflect the newer interior. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. Thanks, Dale!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Just a few steps to the beach. Close enough to the boardwalk to walk to it, but far enough away for the tranquility of a quiet beach. The studio was clean. The host was friendly and responsive.

Have stayed at these properties multiple times. Check in is a breeze and the place is always spotless! Right near the beach access and has a shower to rinse your feet and beach chairs/umbrellas off. Will come back again!

Check-in and communication with host was smooth. Property was clean and we appreciated the clear expectations of owner. We did have a tight parking spot and you would want to drive a car more than likely...the host made this clear in intro to place. Thank you. Neighborhood pretty quiet and close to all the things we wanted...beach, good food, and downtown in general. We plan to be back for sure! Thanks for all you guys do to keep these places available!

Great Location
Great if you like to walk. The lake across the street, close by food, and the beach just a few steps away. The boardwalk is a 12 minute walk. It’s great!

Beach get away
Booked last minute for a much needed beach trip. Price was outstanding as was the location. Well taken care of room in walking distance to most of Carolina Beach! Dale was great to work with and very responsive. We'll be back!!!

Relaxing getaway
The unit was clean and as pictured. Nice location to walk a lot, which we prefer. Manager was pleasant and easy to reach. As in previous reviews, parking for this particular unit is for a fairly compact car. The lady who lives below this unit was very kind and allowed us to park in one of her assigned spaces on the street behind the unit! We truly enjoyed our trip and would stay here again!

This stay was great!
We had an awesome time at this perfect little spot. It’s small but was perfect for my partner and I! Everything was extremely well kept and up to date. The only complaint is the parking space being backed up to a busier road, but other than that the location is amazing! We enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again. 😊

Love the location and price. The only issue was with spotty Wi?i.

Fewer stars because of parking problems
This is a good location at Carolina Beach! It is a basic room with some cooking amenities, certainly all we needed. The lower star rating was for the poor parking space allotted for this unit. If you read the other reviews it does mention a small parking space but it doesn’t mention that it is rather short and not suited to a larger SUV and that one has to either back into it from a major roadway or back out onto the major roadway. After a couple of days we were offered by the owner(?) a space in back that was open until we left. That was much better. But, other than parking it was a good get away and we enjoyed getting to know Carolina Beach and all it and the environs have to offer. We’ll be back!

Great place for our stay. :-)
The communication with the property manager and staff was excellent. The size was perfect for my wife and I to enjoy our stay. It is a short walk to the beach and it is nearby to a couple of food shops/restaurants. Absolutely would recommend and would stay again. Great value!

Loved the location!
Loved that it was such a short walk to the beach! Loved the little sand wash off shower outside. Only think I would change if I could is parking especially for parking space three. I would make sure you bring a compact car. If you are elderly or out of shape then do not stay in number three. There are a good bit of steps and one at the top is the wrong height and I tripped on it a lot and so did others. Dangerous if you fell. Also, for Older people with poor eyesight and a bad back, then getting the key out of the lockbox is difficult for number 3 as well. Anyway, I would stay here again but would probably stay on a lower floor.

Perfect getaway for 2
Very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Perfect size room for 2. The property is within walking distance to some great restaurants and shops. Just steps away from the beach. We will definitely stay here again.

We had a great 21st anniversary
The room was nice. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the kinda small parking spaces. I drive a 2017 Ford F-150 4 door.
