Breakfast at Villa Solitude cost more than the actual accommodation stay !! It was a complete rip-off the prices they were charging.
It was all good

The villa is nestled in the heart of Bad Gastein, with incredible views of the valley and mountains. The restaurant served great dinners (particularly the New Year's Eve dinner), whilst the breakfast was good. The room was decorated with beautiful wooden panels and the decor was of a classical style. The room felt well looked after, even with scratches in the wooden panels. The staff were always pleasant and incredibly helpful - even when we encountered language barriers! The room had its own lounge area, that was also comfortable.
The bed by far was the biggest let down of the accommodation. The room was advertised as having a "large double bed", but instead if was two single beds pushed together. The mattresses themselves were thin, spring mattresses on top of a simple wooden frame that creaked every time you moved. Several times we woke up with sore backs.

Prime location and view, style, ease of access, free parking, leisure room with piano and tee for free use of guests
First / second floor room with no elevator (with small kids a little difficult), no wifi on second floor

Very nice and cosy place. Quiet and saw now other guests other than the cars parked outside. Very large room(s), like a smaller apartment. Great view and the owner(?) welcomed us when we arrived. She also gave us good advices of what to do and where to go in the area.
The restaurant was closed, so there were no breakfast. Since we had breakfast included they had arraged so that we could eat at a café down the block. We got told that it should be like that only the first night (of two), but it was closed again the second day. So back to the café.
The room was a bit cold at night/morning.

The location was great, the rooms decent - we had "junior" suite with an extra bed for our daughter. Our other daughter had a room on the 2nd floor that almost seemed larger but didn't have the extra bed. We walked to a local bakery for breakfast as we didn't book breakfast there. It looked like a great restaurant though. We were between "seasons" so not everything was open - a lot of local restaurants nearby were closed. (May 26th-28th). The sound of the waterfall thru town is loud and is like a sound machine if you like that kind of noise while sleeping (we did!)
We were on the 3rd floor and the stairs are winding and steep. Luckily had our daughters with us to carry our luggage up. The WiFi didn't work on the 3rd floor which now in the review it says paid WiFi which not sure I knew that and it definitely wasn't told/offered to us. We didn't know anything about that and not having WiFi for my daughter was problematic. She had to go down to the common room to use it and even then it wasn't great.

A stunning Villa well located in Bad Gastein! The rooms felt like stepping into another century although it was equipped with all of the necessary modern comforts. The waterfall can be heard from the rooms which I found very relaxing. I was happy to be able to stay during the spring off-season in the valley after passing by it many times during ski season!

Breakfast and dinner were very delicious, a lot to put away, though. We loved our Empress Sisi-apartment decorated in fin de siècle style, full of atmosphere, with a splendid bathroom, and we enjoyed the stunning views from our room.

Absolutely beautiful and charming hotel located in the middle of the town (only 10 mins walk to the ski lifts). The decor is stunning: wonderful original wood panelling and antique furniture throughout the hotel, which was warm and comfortable in the winter. The views from the rooms are also fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was outstanding.

We didn't have breakfast at the hotel. The location was perfect and the views from the hotel and our room were amazing.

Fantastic, beautiful, historical hotel - right in the center of Bad Gastein! The room was huge - it turned out to be a suite actually. The hotel is old, but very well taken care of. I would definitely stay there again.
