About this house rental
Located on small and quite not motorized Wakefield Lake, in the middle of woods and steps away from snowmobile/ATV, hiking and biking trails.
Located on over 4 acres of wooded privacy with 184 feet of frontage lake. House offers a lot of space for many guests, has 6 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms.
Our home features 2 Wood fireplaces, Lakeshore fire pit, front yard fire pit, Cedar Sauna, Pier, Kayaks, Paddleboat, Playground, water slide, basketball, Grill, 2 in 1 Game Table: Air Hockey and Table Tennis. Rustic wood interior with new handmade furniture that will make You feel like in the Real Northwoods.
Hot tub is firewood operated, it is taking about 2 hours to feel the water and to warm it. We did choose this kind of hot tub considering it better for each company to have their own clean water and no use of chemicals. It can be used 2 days on same water or can be refilled every day.
The spiral staircase located between the kitchen and dining room is taking on the second floor where are located 2 bedrooms(1 with king bed and 2 with queen bed) and a bathroom in the middle. Also same spiral stair is going downstairs into the basement. From the guests feedback we understood it is harder to use it for the older people or babies but there is nothing we can do about it. It is safe and we can just advise this 2 rooms to be used by the people who will be comfortable about it. We never had any problems with it, but we are in our late ‘30 and oldest parents in early ‘60 so probably the issue is mostly with older people.

The cabin was beautiful, very clean and we fit everyone in. Enjoyed the small lake, except for the amount of lily pads, small fish. Kayaks and row boat were used and fire pits where enjoyed. Peace and quiet were an added extra. Thank you.

Our family has a great time here overall. The only things that were a turn off were the rooms with no blinds since we had littles and the spiral stairs to get to our some of the rooms. Other than that our family enjoyed our stay.

This was our 2nd vacation at this property and we will be planning a 3rd there! Perfect for our
family of 15 ranging from 2 to 66 years old. We love the quiet little lake. So nice to canoe, paddle board, swim or just relax around the firepit. We often see deer right outside the windows. The fire heated hot tub and sauna are always a big hit. The home is very clean and the kitchen is large and well stocked. The owners are very friendly and helpful if needed. I highly recommend this property and excited to plan our next family vacation there in 2024. Linda

At this price point, I would expect comfortable beds and pillows, strong internet, working doors and windows, table and chairs at the correct height and toiletries. The pictures in the listing also make the house look far more modern than it actually is and did not show the proliferation of lily pads around the dock. On the plus side, it was clean, the hosts answered the phone quickly when we had a question, and the home was large for 6 adults and 2 kids, with lots of activities for the kids.

Great communicatiin with host! The house is fantastic for a group. We were a group of 11 Adults and 2 toddlers and 3 babies. There was plenty of room for all. Those who are more agile should choose to be on second floor that has access by the circular staircase. The hosts have outfitted the kithchen very nicely and left plenty of cupboard space to store all of our provisions. So helpful! There is plenty of refrigerator and freezer space as well. We all had a fantastic time! Our best rental house in years!! Thank you!

Our family enjoyed this cabin so much! Our age group range was 1-59yrs old and everyone enjoyed it as much. The rooms and bedding were very clean, plenty of parking space, cookware, lounging areas, activities, so many amenities! Sad we had to leave after our 3 night stay but highly recommended!

This rental was even more than our group anticipated it would be! The house was super roomy and accommodating for our weekend stay on the private lake. We had everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy a fire by the pier. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends/relatives in the future! Also, the "Red, White, and Brew Company" bar upon entering the secluded area was a wonderful place to hangout with great food and service as well!

Wanted a large vacation house for my kids/grand kids. It was everything we wished for. Lots of bedrooms, lots of space, sauna, hot tub, toy room for the littles, etc. Host Alex great to work with. Wouldn't hesitate to stay in same house again. Well stocked on many fronts.

Perfect for a family gathering in the summer. We just wanted a long weekend getaway in the early spring, but I could see the house being the perfect summer house. House was very clean and set up to accommodate large families. Large kitchen that was well stocked with everything you might need. Nice fire pit out front that adults could gather around while kids played basketball or on the play set. There is another fire pit on the lakeside. Lovely sauna and hot tub. Kids would enjoy the basement which is set up for both young and older kids. Don’t let the stairs deter you. Teens could easily get up the stairs to the two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. If the spiral staircase was intimidating to the basement the basement is still accessible by sliding doors outside, so people could go around or out the back deck to get to the basement. Very peaceful and quiet on a small lake.

This was a perfect location for our annual family vacation. Very clean house and property and as listed. Plenty of room for the 16 of us (ages 2 months to 65). The outdoor sauna and wood fired hot tub were an excellent plus. Quiet little lake with clear water and sandy bottom. The kids loved the water slide, kayaks and fishing off the dock. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. The water was the best we've ever had at a northern Wisconsin rental and we had seemingly unlimited hot water. The Wifi was also very good. The lake is private and nice for swimming or fishing (small to medium pan fish). We used the row boat and the two sit-in kayaks which were in usable but very rough shape. The two fire pits were great. We saw a lot of wildlife. The owners were very responsive. All but one of the bedroom closets had wire closet systems for hanging and folded storage.
The spiral staircase in the house is extremely awkward with steep narrow treads. In my opinion, it is an accident waiting to happen. And unfortunately it is the only means of access to two of the upstairs bedrooms and the basement. We would have liked window coverings on all the bedroom windows for privacy and light control.
We did not use the sauna or hot tub partly because the tub would have to be filled and emptied using a garden hose and heated by a wood fire. Too much work when on vacation.

We had 10 people on vacation. The youngest 16 and the rest adults. The home was beautiful, spacious, and offered ample areas for all to feel like they have their own space but also a great area for all to gather. Alex and Nina rocked! Such gracious hosts! Attentive to our needs and on the ball with any questions or concerns. They even brought us cake! We would return in a heartbeat!

While we really enjoyed our stay at this property, there are a few things future vacationers should know: We we’re very excited about having a hot tub and sauna available at this location. What we did not realize is that you have to fill and heat the tub before you can use it. The tub is heated by fire stove, so it take 2 hours to heat up. You must also drain the tub when you are done. It also was not clear to us via the pictures that 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are only accessible by using the steep winding staircase (Downstiars with bathroom and pool table could also be accessed by exterior entrance). We enjoyed the fire pit by the house. There is also a fire pit down by the lake. The lake is a small, quiet lake that is great for paddle boarding and kayaking.

Great place to stay with several families. Very spacious kitchen. I enjoyed having 2 fire pits, one on the lake the other close to the house. The red pine slab benches were nice so everyone could sit around the fire.

Great location
We had 14 people of varying ages. The stairs going up and down are not safe for older people. One of the stair steps is broke. Kitchen could use more cooking supplies- can opener was broke, no dishcloths, numbers on stove were worn out, but plenty of glasses. Many things “broke” when we were there- dishwasher shelf, front door lock. A broom or vacuum would be nice to have available. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper and soap. 2 of our bathrooms didn’t have any soap and no extra toilet paper so we had to buy both in town. A few days of a handyman to fix things and update would make the price worth it.
Communication with the owner is excellent.

We had a great time there! There is so much things to do and to explore. The house was very clean and everything was easy to find. We brought corn to feed deers and they where all around the house, we also fed them. It was an amazing experience! Kitchen was fully stocked. We will definitely go back!

12 of us -- 6 adults, 6 grandboys ages 7-16 -- really enjoyed our stay, boating, catching loads of panfish, hot tub/sauna, and especially sharing the kitchen and eating space. The front of the house has a generous asphalt-paved area that we played a lot of catch, badminton, corn hole, etc. Alex was readily available to answer questions. Thank you!!

This was a great place for a big group we had 8 kids ages 2-11 and 8 adults. The host was quick to respond when there was a question. The spiral staircase was an issue with the small kids. But we managed well. There were gates!
