It was extremely busy when we arrived, but a member of staff was able to check us in straight away. Our room was very nice with a large en-suite walk-in shower. Beds were very comfy, with ample tea/coffee supplied. I initially wasn't too happy with being allocated a room on the top floor, which is reached by flights of quite steep stairs and going through a few doors - but in all fairness, the staff didn't know I would be accompanied by a 50kg Rotty! It really didn't mar our stay at all.
We were served breakfast on both days by Liam, who was extremely friendly and polite despite the restaurant area being very busy. Breakfast menu was spot on for every taste - and my dog appreciated a little something himself from the kitchen. We also had lunch on the Saturday - steak cooked as I ordered.
All the staff had a smile and greeting for us each time we saw them - they are a great credit to the pub.
The car park was fairly full when we arrived - but it was early evening - and the pub is obviously very popular.
I'm so pleased we booked our stay at The Stag - would recommend to anyone visiting the area - especially if you have a dog.

This hotel always pleases. It is clean, comfortable delivers excellent food. The Staff are professional and courteous. The Hotel is ideally located for both the town and the Forest.

Wonderful location, friendly and welcoming checkin, super clean room, attentive staff at all times throughout our stay, breakfast was delicious and table service from Wendy was excellent who was extremely helpful, friendly and fantastic at her job.

Loved the town and it's shops and restaurants, and it's ideally placed to visit other parts of the New Forest. Breakfast was great and every member of staff friendly and helpful.
Nothing really, the room was different to the one pictured but that wasn't a problem.

Good location nice food
Even after phoning the hotel we were told we would be able to charge our EV at the hotel. Only one charger was working that did not have a cable and in any case was blocked in the car park by a non EV - Very Stressful.

The room was large, well equipped and beautifully furnished. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good as was the burger and chips we enjoyed in the evening. Location - The free parking was a real positive and being in the centre of Lyndhurst was great for us- very near the tourist information centre and two of the three hop-on-hop off bus routes (there would be no need to use your car once you had arrived). Excellent value

Friendly staff, excellent room and facilities. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and well cooked. Will definitely like to stay here again when we visit the new forest.

Narrow staircase quite difficult to access room however staff helped with transporting luggage which was bonus.
It would have helped to have previous information about location of car park.

Decor was lovely. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Room was very comfortable and had all we needed.

The Stag Hotel was excellent. Great facilities, very clean. Plenty of space and a lovely staff team. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. We really enjoyed the pie of the day as well as lunch offerings and the breakfast that was included in our stay was consistently very good. We didn't bring our dog, but over our 3 day stay many people brought in their dogs. It was very dog friendly, they even offer a dog menu for a Sunday Roast!

We received a very friendly welcome, everyone here is so nice and accommodating.
We stayed with our dog and we’ve never stayed anywhere so suited to holidaying with your dog. They had everything you could possibly need and she was made to feel as welcome as we were.
Our room was lovely and clean, well presented and the food was amazing. A break breakfast each morning was included in the price of the room.
We’d recommend The Stag to anyone looking to stay in the New Forest, especially if they are looking to go away with their dog. Thank you to all that staff here who couldn’t have done more for us.

Ambience in bar, breakfast, staff
Bedroom - too small, noisy from pub next door - woken up early with barrels being delivered and workmen talking, view awful, remote didn’t work properly for TV it was hard work, bar was shut earlier than time stated on occasion.

Room was lovely and the staff were amazingly friendly. The location is stunning and has alot around it, many places to eat visit and enjoy.
The breakfast was very poor value for money. Very very small breakfast on offer for the £10 each supplement. I would recommend saving the money and going to a local cafe.

central property in Lyndhurst with parking, modern themed decor, they had clearly thought of the heat (actually stayed in June not March) and there were fans etc in the rooms which were great. Excellent breakfast.

there was an issue with the hot water so we had cold showers but a very miniscule detail in the grand scheme of things.

Lovely big room and very quiet considering it's right on the busiest street in the New Forest. Great soundproofing. awesome staff - couldn't do enough including the chef who cooked extra sausages for our choc newfador Ozzy. Highly recommend- will be back
