The evening meal and breakfast the following morning were the highlights in an otherwise unremarkable stay.
The accommodation did not represent value for money in my opinion. The cabin, while clean and tidy was basic and did not have facilities that warranted the price comparative to other accommodation we stayed in while in Lapland. There was no TV and whilst this is not necessarily essential, given the limited activities available during our stay this would have helped occupy my children for some period. The person on the front desk who started checking me in presented like she was either new or had zero interest in being there and required a colleague to take over before the check-in was completed. Once checked it it was difficult to find our cabin despite being provided with a map and directions. I had to return to reception and ask for assistance and this seemed to be an imposition on the staff and the maintenance man eventually showed me where our cabin was and even he had to have explained to him how to find the right place. There was an air-conditioning unit in the cabin which was close to one of the beds which made noise on and off all night and made it difficult to sleep.

friendly staffs, transportation pick you up from east to weather village.
kitchen was abit slow, we reserved table at 6pm for dinner appetiser was quite fast but we waited till almost 7pm only get our main dish unfortunately not able to have the dessert because we made reservations for activity which need to leave by 7.20pm. Checking out time is quite early at 10am, if the resort could push a little bit later will be good. Tap water in glass igloo is not warm even we run the water for quite some time.

The chalets were a good size and the location is stunning, plenty of white fluffy snow and lots to do.
The service was not good, the quality of the food was not good. For the money I would have expected a lot more.

the on site food did not have many choices

The breakfast was good.

The Cabin was great
Understaffed, overworked, terrible food to the point that official complaint was almost required. Even the supervisors know there is a managerial problem. The money for value is a rip off. Too much lighting on streets and in cabins to properly see what is advertised.

We absolutely loved the Igloo, and couldn't recommend it enough.
We made a short video of our stay as well.

We stayed in a kelo glass igloo chalet. the room is spacious. big property with lots of activities.
very poor and slow service at the reception and restaurant. Staff don’t seem to be very confused and not at all helpful .

The property was amazing and located at beautiful place. It was all clean and properly managed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our check-in and check- out was quite smooth.
I would just suggest to provide some cutlery, Toaster & Microwave in the room. Also, there were no toothpaste available in the Igloo which i would expect.

loved the cabin we stayed in! In retrospect, learning that igloos had no showers worked out better for us! private sauna was a major plus but the location overall was magnificent.
i understand that during Christmas it is hard to staff but the food and staff shortages were the only areas where improvement was possible.

I had booked Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort - Igloos, west village for 3rd Jan night (2 Igloos) quite well in advance in mid Nov 2022. Unfortunately, when i arrived at the property in west village section of Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, the staff told me that my reservation is in East village. This was not what I wanted as West Village section is more happening as compare to the east village. Firstly, i requested them that there might be some miscommunication, so please move my reservation to west village. But they replied that west village is fully booked and I will have to go to East village. I wanted to talk to someone on higher authority, so after waiting for almost an hour, the CEO of the property came and he also said that since the west village is fully booked, I need to go to East village. For me, I planned everything quite well in advance to stay in West village, still it was very unpleasant situation for me. The CEO of the property was mentioning that it is not property owner mistake that my reservation was moved to east village and was blaming booking.com for this. I called the booking.com customer care on the same day, but the call drop off while I was explaining all the situation and no one from booking.com called me back to help me. Today (8th Jan) as I am back to The Netherlands, I called the booking.com customer care again, the staff told me that property address what is mentioning on the booking.com website is written by property owner and hence, it is the fault of Property themselves of not mentioning clearly about the east/west village and booking.com can't help me here. Now I am in situation where Property owner is asking me to check with booking.com and vice versa.

only the landscape
Everything else, cleanliness, value for money, attention to customer needs, food choices, transportation options, customer service, honesty of staff, CEO. Honestly it was the worst trip I had in my life, I am perplexed at the money I paid and the value I got. The culture of organization is build on dishonesty, taking customers for granted, take it or leave it mindset. I honestly do not recommend the hotel to anyone. I definitely recommend the destination experience to everyone but not in this hotel, specially in December

Log hut is an amazing experience, large room with Sauna
Igloo was a magical experience
Patron engagement by Jothi Nalluri the sales and marketing manager was phenomenal, there should be more dynamic characters like her in the hotel industry in the Nordic countries
Activities like husky sledge and snowmobile were brilliant
A truly magical property and I will go back again for sure
Food is average, I understand its a busy hotel and focus might not be on food, but presence of a gourmet restaurant would be great
Bathroom is not as magical as the room. Especially the bathroom in the log hunt should merge with the log hut theme but it was basic and an anomaly to the earthen room and sauna

The Kelo Igloo was exquisite. we like the fact that it has an alarm when the northern lights are showing. No need to go out of the room and wait all night.
We liked everything except for the service, particularly the lady named Alicia at the Aurora Reception. We asked if she could call a taxi for us. Instead she just gave a number to call. Asked if they understood English. She said yes. We needed up waiting for more than an hour and canceling our dinner reservation outside. Didn’t expect this kind of service with the amount we spent in the resort. However, Melanie in the Kelo Reception was exceptional. She assisted all our activities and made sure we had everything we needed.

the property itself is beatiful, i mean, the nature in the surrounding.
Everything: imagine being served chicken-nuggets/breakfast salsages/meatballs for Christmas dinner? unbelieaveble yep? they did sirve this horrendous food. only 1 ou 2 protein opcions for dinner, and always one was reindeer that looked like vomit. Terrible! I starved in this place for 3 nights. Than i decided to antecipate my flight to Helsinki as i was feeling weak. Horrible breakfast, umderstafed. Please belive in the bad ratings and DO NOT GO THERE!!! Check other places. They do not care about you. Just to mention: it was my anniversary and Christmas, so, never ever again! and lots of people unhappy like us! Choose other place! i lost ~ 1k € because i was revolted with them. What they did as compensation? NOTHING! Stay alway!!!

Our arrival was via bus out of Rovaniemi. The stop for the bus was at the "East Village", which was not yet open for the season and noted as such on the door. The notice included a map to the "West Village", but a quick calculation of the distance (via the scale provided) indicated that it was too great to walk. A quick call to the number provided and very friendly and accomdating driver arrived to transport us the seven kilomters to the West Village. The check-in was very quick with an abundance of information provided, including a map of the resort and a list of activities available to book. Our upgraded cabin was locate a short distance from the main lodge.
This is completely on us, and not the resort. We booked this stay in conjunction with other activities in southern Finland and were not fortunate enough to get a grand Aurora Borialis view.

Wonderdul Location! Snow is everywhere!
We arrived around 14:30 p.m. No one cares about guiding us to our chalet! It takes around 25 minutes to find it finally!!!The chalet was very cold! We asked the staff to fix the problem with the floor heating as soon as possible because we have 2 kids with us but problem not solved during our stay!!! Besides, We have to pay for the wood to light the fireplace!!!
No soap in the bathroom!!
Dinner very poor!!
Total paid for 1 night didn't match our expectations. We will never re-book this place in the future.

Absolute masterpieces of cabins, all made of wooden logs. The Kelo has a great private sauna attached and a glass igloo attached (note dislikes below).
- beautiful bridge across a creek to walk to the reception and restaurant
- very good selection (yoghurt, deli meats, egg, bacon, pancakes etc) at the buffet breakfast with some items changing daily.
- beautiful restaurant, conference venue and planetarium
We stayed in a Kelo (wood cabin with glass igloo attached) in Autumn during a cloudy and rainy period.
- the beds and pillows were not very comfortable (very thin mattresses).
- the Kelos are built too close together with light pollution from other Kelos blocking out the view of the night sky in the glass igloo even when the sky is clear. This also shines into the bedroom. I raised this and management said they could not turn off the lights of the unoccupied Kelos for safety/insurance reasons.
- I would not stay in a Kelo again.

The place was good, creative idea of staying in the woods.
They were not ready for guests, first day of arrival the restaurant was closed, even in the second day there was no breakfast! There is no room service, no one came to clean our room for 3 days. When I booked the room I read about the activities they have, but when I arrived at the hotel I was shocked that they did not have any activity, I spent 3 nights in my room doing nothing.

It is very stylish log house. Everything you needed is there - small kitchen with dining table, living room and sauna. Nice parking slot at the entrance. Not far from the E75 and the national park. Quiet.
Sauna is nice but the heater is way too small for the room. Whatever you try, the max temperature you can reach is 70 degrees. For us nordics it is not considered as sauna :-). Fortunately there is smoke sauna in the tourist center, recommend to try this. There are no hooks at sauna.

There were plenty of room inside the cabin and the location was peaceful. The staff was friendly and arriving to the location was effortless.
Firstly the cabin smelled awful and the temperature was tropical. There was a beautiful fireplace, but no firewood for it. The "firewood service" was unavailable when we arrived and it was also priced very arrogantly. The kitchen lacked basic appliances such as a coffee machine. Also there was a huge draft in the sauna so that it was hard to keep warm.

The cottage was very nice and cozy. No complaining about that. Will visit again and reccommend. The place was super clean and had everything we needed.
Sauna was great!
Tiny tinty thing: Only confusion we had that there was no cleaning info. Should we do for example own dishes and throw the thrash out or not? Neither would be an issue for us, but info would be create. I even tried to google.
7.0
There was space enough in the rooms.
There were too few lamps in the bed room. More light is needed to black corner there. Micro wave oven or normal oven is needed.
8.0
Nice and cosy cabin with surprisingly large interior.
The kitchenette was quite modest. For example it was equipped with only one knife. Large serrated bread knife is not good for cutting onions etc.
5.0
Very friendly staff and the seize of the cabin
Everything else. The accommodation is completely outdated. We were staying at the start of September and none of the facilities were open! Even when they said on line there was breakfast, there wasn’t any. In the East Village trash is laying around everywhere and a lot of broken items. Maybe a place to go in Winter time, but not during Ruska!
