Be great when they ever finally finish it
The size of the room was good
The hotel was not finished and there was dust everywhere, the restaurant was not functional paint and builder everywhere, have to enter through the back. Gardens were a mess

Outstanding
The staff is wonderful and the standard of accommodation is exceptional. The location is ideal with a short walk to restaurants and other places of interest. Overall, absolutely brilliant.

Never again
A charming owner with, what used to be a nice hotel at a very nice location: a dead-end street near the lift-locks in a canal. Surroundings are nice and green.
The hotel is barely staffed. Acknowledged by the owner, this was killing for our stay. Not only was no one there when we arrived at 18:15 (all doors locked), things went from bad to worse from then on. The owner's charm and efforts can't make up for all the shortcomings. It's a beautiful hotel, but the atmosphere is that of an abandoned one. Hardly any other guests, dirty windows, terrace, etc. Luckily our room was clean, but could use some serious maintenance (e.g. water leakage damage in ceiling). We made a huge mistake also having dinner in the hotel during our one-night stay. We could have known that "just a guy" in the kitchen and the owner himself could not provide the service that is required for multiple tables with dinner guests (some walk-ins for the restaurant arrived during the evening). Things went really bad when my spouse noticed that her ceasar salad did contain parsley, for which she has a very serious allergy, which we discussed while ordering. I'm not going into details, but suffice to say that the way this was handled by the "chef" (and the owner) was completely opposite of what anyone in their right mind would do. Never again.

Average. Not worth the money.
Breakfast was stated to start at 7.00am on Sunday. We went to find breakfast at 7.45am to be told that the woman had just arrived and was setting up breakfast now. She did however seat us and let us know after five minutes that it was ready. We seemed to be one of very few people staying there that night that we were almost forgotten. Another member of staff was asleep on a sofa close to reception, and promptly disappeared once the lady sorting breakfast for us noticed! We were assigned a ground floor room, and as such, throughout the night you could hear music and videos being played on the phones of the night staff.
