About this house rental
Luxury Home with the Best Views on the Kona Coast (Big Island of Hawaii).
We have a STVR (short term vacation rental) permit issued by the County of Hawaii.
You'll love our large, heated pool with travertine decking around the pool for the ultimate luxury. Cooks dream kitchen with mahogany cabinets and granite counters.
Picture yourself lounging around the pool with the huge blue ocean always in sight or reading on one of the many the lanai's. Imagine one gorgeous sunset after another, framed by the palm lined coastline and the lights of Kona. Enjoy them with a glass of wine surrounded by your family and friends. This is what you will find yourself doing at Kona View House.
But the views are not just from the pool, they are front and center in almost every room. Our home contains Tommy Bahama-style tropical furnishings and tropical art on almost every wall.
Sleeps up to 9 comfortably. 10 possible upon request (for example an infant or small child). We welcome kids, and they love to play in the extra large pool! (But should be supervised for safety and be respectful of neighbors with noise.)
Your stay at Kona View House is also environmentally friendly, since we have 33 grid-tied solar panels which produce all the power we use!
Our multitude of 5 star reviews assure you that you will have the vacation of your lives! Guests return to Kona View House year after year, and even have come back to get married!
We have stayed at many vacation rentals ourselves, and have included every amenity we could think of, so you can have the vacation of your dreams.
* Coolers, beach chairs and pool floats.
* Baby items such as high chair..
* Storage containers to protect your food.
* Quality linens and towels.
* High speed wireless internet.
* Large gas grill
* Fully equipped, spacious and modern kitchen with 2 sinks, double oven, numerous small appliances. Ironing, hair dryers, full size washer and dryer,
* 4 TV's with Roku; included streaming options or use your own Netflix, Amazon, Hulu accounts.
* Books * Games
The house is on 2 floors. Upstairs is the kitchen, living room with big TV, dining room, 2 public lanai's, bedroom with king bed, lanai and en-suite bath, den/bedroom with pull out memory foam queen bed, and powder room. Downstairs are two bedrooms with 1 full bathroom in the hallway between them. Both bedrooms downstairs walk out to the lower lanais and the pool. One has a queen bed, the other has a queen and a twin bed.
We are centrally located, just a 5-10 minute drive from downtown Kailua-Kona. Everything from Wal-mart and Safeway to the cute downtown shops and restaurants of Kailua-Kona can be reached in just a few minutes. You can even be snorkeling at one of the local beaches in just a few minutes. The airport is 15-20 minutes north, the mega resorts and beaches are 30 minutes north, and the Volcano is 2.5 hours south.
In terms of weather, because we are on the side of a mountain, the weather varies by elevation. Down toward the water it is very hot with little breeze. You would often want air conditioning at that elevation. Up at 1200-1500 feet it's quite cool; homes have fireplaces and residents wear long pants. Most people believe 600-800 feet elevation is ideal, and our home is at 650 feet. It's warm enough to feel that you are in Hawaii, but almost never gets too warm. In the evening, cool air comes down the mountain, and you can control the temperature in the house by opening and closing the front door to allow this air in or not. (Note that up north where the resorts are, it is often quite windy, but here we only get light breezes.) We do have 7 ceiling fans and large windows for warm days.
Solar pool heat is included, and if the sun is not cooperating additional heat is available for a small fee.
Many of our guests report that they had all kinds of plans to visit places around the island, but they actually spent a lot of their time at the house, floating in the pool, hanging out on the lanai and watching the sunset, not wanting to leave. This is the experience we try to provide.
Certainly there are many vacation rentals you can choose from, but we hope you will choose ours so we can share this magical place with you. There are places that are less expensive, but we have yet to see something comparable to ours in terms of views, amenities, luxury, and style, for less. Don't forget all the ways we will save you $ on your vacation! You can cook your meals at home, and save money on rental costs for beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie boards, and coolers.

Note: We do not allow parties; only guests staying at the home, and others as pre-authorized. There are two webcams in the yard that we only turn on if we have neighbor complaints about a party or noise.

We had an incredible stay at this lovely house on the Big Island of Hawaii! The property was just as stunning as shown in the photos, featuring three spacious bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen that made dining in a pleasure. The open-concept dining and living areas led out to a beautiful balcony with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Enjoying a cup of coffee in the mornings and winding down with a drink in the evenings on that balcony was truly magical.
The large pool was a fantastic addition to our experience, providing a refreshing respite after a day of exploring. We did encounter some minor issues with the pool at the start, but our host was exceptionally responsive and addressed our concerns promptly and effectively, which we greatly appreciated.
The neighborhood was not only safe but also conveniently located near Kona, making it easy to access a variety of excellent restaurants. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway!

House has everything you can possibly need. Beautiful views, great space, lots of fans which help. It was humid so made it feel very hot. But we knew that going in July would be that way. The pool is a great way to cool off. 9 Beach chairs and 2 umbrellas along with snorkel equipment was great to have.
Thank you for a wonderful place to stay

Our entire family enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home in Hawaii. Plenty of room for us to spread out - but lots of spots (pool/lanai/living & dining room) for us to be together. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with every type of pan/cooking utensil we needed, and the wide array of beach necessities (towels/chairs/coolers) made our day trips that much more enjoyable!
And the view...AMAZING!
Thank you for hosting us, Cindi!

We enjoyed the property, it was very comfortable for our large group. The view, the pool, the house were beautiful. Having all the items available for the beach was so convenient. Would definitely rent again.

We traveled here for my 40th birthday with extended family. We had older adults with mobility issues as well as two children in our travel party. The house was perfect for our group. It is only about 10 minutes away from downtown Kona and a short drive to Keauhou. Well stocked large kitchen. The best part about this house is the view! Gorgeous ocean views from almost every room. We could see whales breaching from the lanai. The pool was clean, and the children loved the provided pool toys. This house has everything you could ask for in a vacation home. Great communication from the host. Best birthday ever!

The proprety is very nice with all accomodities. Well situed. The communications were easy.
The only thing is the fact, as specify by the owners, that there is no AC. So some evenings, the house was at 30•C. But during the night and in the morning the house was able to refresh itself.
Even so, we pass a very good Time.

This was a family vacation, 1 senior, 2 kids, 6 adults. Location is perfect, as centrally located in a safe neighborhood. The home is perfect, with every pot/pan/service dish/ you made need. Enough dishes, enough silverware, my mother wanted to make flour tortillas, and I was skeptical if I would find a rolling pin, and I did. We made pizza, and I found pizza trays to put in the oven. Enough cleans towels, no stains, no holes in the sheets and no stains. Specific instructions on how to use the fancy appliances and instructions on how to use everything else in the house. Decor is perfect, you are in your own tropical paradise within paradise. Thank you Cindi for your prompt responses for all my questions.

The owner was great to work with, it was incredibly easy to check in and out. The house was stocked with EVERYTHING one would need to make the stay smooth and start your trip out seamlessly.
We are thankful for the opportunity to visit the Big Island and that we found this home.
We had a hiccup with the pool temps, Cindi was responsive and apologetic.

My family and I (4 adults and 4 kids) had a great time in Kona. The house was perfect. My in-laws took the master suite, my wife and I had one room downstairs, my 2 boys stayed in the other downstairs bedroom, and my 2 girls shared the pull out couch. We spent most of our time on the deck off the dining room enjoying the sunsets and early morning views of Jupiter and Mars. The pool was fantastic and was where my girls spent most waking hours. The location was close enough to downtown and easy to get out for excursions. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place on the big island.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was clean and had plenty of room for the 6 of us. There are markets and restaurants 5-10 minutes away so the house is conveniently located. The view from the balcony was amazing and it was so nice to be able to see the sunset from there. We would definitely stay there again!

Fabulous licatiin and perfect for hanging out with family.
Overall a wonderful experience in a lovely home. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone. Minor issues like overflowing garbage bins loaded and stacked with 6 more full trash bags that WE had to move to the curb on trash day. That part was not cool as it was not our trash. Also, tv remotes were difficult to figure out in main room so we were never able to turn it on. Small cheap plastic outdoor patio end table was broken when we arrived. Other than that, it's a lovely location and quite comfortable for multiple guests.

Great to hang at the pool with family
Overall great place to hang out with family and friends, especially enjoying the pool, BBQ and yard geckos. Very clean and well maintained. Roomy kitchen so no bumbing elbows making meals and grabbing drinks.
Xbox had just been removed (not functioning) just before our arrival...which was fine by us but you may want to check if that's important to you.

Views for days!!!
We loved our stay at this beautiful home. We had the pool heated a little extra and that was lovely. What a place to relax and enjoy life. One block downhill is a great trail to run each morning. Thank you to the hosts who were very responsive. Aloha forever!!

We had a wonderful time, the accommodation, view and location were great. We were very impressed with the response from Cindi, when after the first attempt at bbq, we realized it was not working. Cindi had a new bbq delivered the next afternoon!

A lovely Hawaiian Paradise
This house was absolutely lovely. There was everything you could possibly need. The pool was well maintained, very clean, and with lots of fun pool floats available. All the basics were stocked and easily available. There were plenty of beach toys to tote along to the numerous beaches that were very close to the property. The location was ideal, very close to both the downtown area, excursions, and all the nature attractions. The adults and children both had a fantastic trip. Lastly the view was unparalleled!

Wonderful Home & Location!!
This was the first time to the Big Island for us. Our family came along and loved every moment. The house was as beautiful as the pictures shown. The view was amazing, with gorgeous sunsets. Our family really enjoyed staying here. The kitchen is great, fully stocked. The pool was fantastic and the three bedrooms made it feel like home. We would recommend this rental home to anyone.

A beautiful view in paradise
What a fantastic place to stay, we had such a super time morning noon and night. Sounds of the jungle with a beautiful 180 degree views of the ocean and Kona town. The home was well stocked and clean with spices and plenty of dishes, glasses, pots pans and utensils along with beach chairs and towels.
The owner Cindi was very attentive and asked if we needed anything and answered any emails if needed. I would definitely stay here again.
Thanks for sharing your island home.

Perfect once again
This was our 3rd time staying in Kona View House and it was just as perfect as our other stays here if not better. Plenty of room for the six of us, having two extras join our family of four, the house still felt so spacious.
Everything you need is here, comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, great lounge area, sparkling pool and amazing views.
The house is decorated with beautiful Hawaiian art throughout.
Nice quiet neighbourhood and easy access to town for shopping and supermarket or the other way to Captain Cook.
If you like a big day of driving it can take you across to Volcano National Park, Akaka Waterfall and Hilo.
Thank you Cindi for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home...we would not stay anywhere else in Kona.
Hope to return for a fourth time sometime in the future.

Nothing short of Amazing!
Everything from start to finish was amazing and wonderful! The pictures, description and instructions provided ahead of time were spot on, making it so nice when traveling with family to not have any surprises! The pool was the perfect temperature and clean. Plenty of towels for the shower and beach, as well as toys for the pool and beach. The kitchen was very well stocked and it was nice to have some items like syrup, spices, water, popcorn, etc. available that we could add to when we went shopping. All the electronics worked and were easy to operate. Instructions are provided in a nice binder for the whole house as well. The sunsets were wonderful too, which made coming 'home' even better. And one of the best things to end our trip - the owner Cindy coordinated with the housecleaners to ship back my sons stuffed animals that decided they wanted to stay a few more days in paradise!

Paradise!!
Our stay at this little piece of paradise was wonderful. This home is beautiful clean and completely stocked with everything you could possible need to enjoy the Big Island. We brought our 3 year old and 11 month old and really appreciated that the home had beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, water toys, a high chair, and a pack n play (and much more). There was even a bouncy chair for smaller babies. Traveling with kids can be a challenge but this vacation rental made it easy! The slider doors on the ground floor near the pool had locks that my adventurous toddler could not open so we felt safe letting her sleep downstairs. The multiple lanai’s offered breathtaking ocean views that I will never forget. The owners provide ample tips on keeping the house cool so the lack of air conditioning was not a problem for us. The pool was the perfect place to cool off. We Would absolutely stay here again!

Incredible view
Kona is already incredible but this house put our visit over the top. The layout of the house and amenities on site often made it hard to leave. Very open design and the pool area just beckon all to move outside and enjoy the sun. The gazebo gives those who want a sun break the opportunity to still hang out with those sun worshipers in your group. Location of the house is in a very up and coming growing community on the hill side and offers a close location to downtown (ie: short Uber ride). With younger children, we also appreciated the beach toys for use and the chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach. Hope Cindi's house is available again the next time we travel to Hawaii. Mahalo!

Beautiful home with a spectacular view!
We spent 5 nights here, and we would definitely rent it again! The pool was perfect, and the owners were quick to add more heat for us on request. The house was spotless, and included everything we could want for our stay. The only downside was having to keep very quiet after dark - we followed the rules but the neighbors still complained about noise before 7pm, a little early to have to keep the kids quiet at the pool.

Awesome home in paradise
We stayed here from December 20, 2018 to January 6, 2019. The home was
absolutely perfect. Beautiful, comfortable and felt just like home. Everything was
in beautiful condition and there was not one thing we wanted that wasn't there.
Absolutely totally equipped, kitchen items, beach towels, pool toys, beach chairs, mats
beach umbrella. There was nine of us and everyone had a fabulous time. We were all
impressed and can only hope future VBRO's are as great. Cindy was great, totally
accessible, and had a book for how to use everything. She thought of everything. I can't forget the fun we had in the pool and the breath taking view we enjoyed. I truly did not want to go home. We plan on coming back.

Beautiful view home in Kona
We had a truly wonderful vacation at this well-maintained home. There were five of us (four adults and a five-year old) and this house was more than ideal. The pool and outside areas are beautiful. We used the BBQ on several occasions, had drinks on the deck while watching gorgeous sunsets (and whales) and just relaxed around the pool. We also cooked meals inside and were very impressed with the kitchen (they even give you a list of where everything is located). The living spaces and bedrooms were clean and well-cared for. Plenty of towels, beach toys, etc for everyone. Overall one of the best VRBO's we've ever stayed in!

Comfortable home, nicely furnished
The home is actually nicer than shown in the pictures, and is very spacious.
The owners were very helpful and responsive when we had questions.

Relaxing house good for extended family
The owners mention they live in the house part-time--that contributes to the home-y feel to the house, unlike some other VRBO houses I've stayed in that feel like rentals (sterile, not as kept up). Owners were easy to communicate with, truly "took ownership" of issues, so we felt truly hosted. The pool is clean, great for the kids and short laps, smart TVs. We fully used the grill and large stocked kitchen. Only thing is we weren't used to the heat; elderly parents had a bit of a hard time but we fully used the ceiling fans, and I think there were box fans available. Location also great, 10 min drive to grocery/restaurants, safe neighborhood good for taking walks, Costco is on your way from/to the airport.

A Piece of Paradise!
We stayed in this beautiful home at the beginning of August, there were 9 of us, and this home was amazing! There was enough room for all of us to be comfortable without feeling that we didn’t have our own space. The kitchen is a dream; well stocked with everything you could ever need, good quality knives and it’s just a beautiful space to work in. The lanai off the dining room was well used, it’s a great outdoor space with an incredible view of the sunset every night, and the ocean during the day. It’s really a piece of paradise! Our kids practically lived in the pool when we were at the house. In the garage was all the beach stuff: chairs, water shoes, boogie boards, coolers, umbrellas, it’s great to have that for a fun day at the beach. We’ve stayed at many VRBOs and this is the nicest one yet! The owner was always available to answer questions and was very prompt at refunding our deposit. If you’re lucky enough to go to the Big Island, don’t hesitate to book this lovely home! Mahalo, Cindi! We loved your home and it helped make our vacation extra special!

A beautiful, well kept home that is well maintained.
We had an amazing stay at this house. The kids loved swimming in the solar heated pool and everyone loved suntanning on the deck. We celebrated 3 birthdays during our stay and also a 50th wedding anniversary. The kitchen is so well equipped that we had lots of dishes for our celebrations. The kitchen has been renovated and is the nicest one we have ever had in a rental property. The owners have even made a list telling you where everything was located in the kitchen. This was very helpful when we were cooking meals for everyone in our party. The beds are all very comfortable. There are plenty of linens, towels and beach towels.
Cindi is a very good hostess, texting us upon our arrival to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. She was easy to talk to and always answered our questions immediately.
The house is beautifully furnished with Hawaiian artifacts and furniture. The surroundings make you feel at home right from the minute you walk in the door.
It has an awesome view of the ocean; although when we were there the VOG was very bad many days and the view wasn't as good as we have had in previous visits to the Big Island.
This home was a perfect place for our family vacation.

Wonderful Slice of Paradise!!
Probably the best VRBO home we have ever stayed in! Beautifully furnished rooms, more than adequate towels for my family of 9. One of the best equipped kitchens with even a wonderful set of knives (my hubby is picky about knives). :) The pool was a huge hit with all the kids young and a little older. The view was second to none and was the house is in an easy access area just outside of Kona. Finally Cindi was a joy to work with checking in with me a few times just to make sure we were comfortable and having a wonderful time. Thank you Cindi for sharing your beautiful home with us.
