Sauberes kleines Hotel 🏨 in Zentrumsnähe. Die wenigen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig in 15 Minuten erreichbar. Außergewöhnlich ausgiebiges Frühstück.
Einige Zimmer haben kein Fenster zum öffnen.

The staff is incredible. My room was spacious, my bed was very comfortable, and my bathroom was larger than many hotel rooms I've stayed in. Breakfast is a delightful experience.

Good clean hotel with courteous staff. Antique well maintained building. Excellent Location: away but not too far from Central market and food district - convenient walking distance. Excellent buffet breakfast.
The mattress was too soft for my comfort.

The location is good, nice free breakfast and great restaurant next door. Cool little spot, good for an overnight stay.#BeeHippyLifestyle
The rooms are outdated and need a little more love

Hotel Aranjuez is located in a very nice area, some 15mins (safe) walking distance north of Plaza de Democracia.
It has a jungle like garden in the backyard with flying birds and squirrels running around. Breakfast is also served there (the best we had in 3 weeks in Costa Rica) so you can already experience some "wild life" while being in the capital city. Rooms were very clean and quite spacious. Staff was really nice and helpfull.
Due to the small window facing the backyard the room was a bit dark and damp.

Location and staff. The street is quit and there is a nice restaurant nextdoor. The staff is very friendly!
You hear a lot. The doors from the neighbours but also there conversations.

It is a very traditional Costa Rica home

This hotel is the perfect nest of quaintness in the capital. It feels like you are somewhere far away, but you are in the city. It was quiet, the staff was so kind, friendly, and a joy to engage with. I will, without a doubt, be back!

A lovely hotel with a character, just the walls in the rooms are thin, so some can be bothered.

They had a carry out breakfast ready for us in the morning even though we had to leave before their regular time for breakfast. They arranged a driver for us to get to the airport in the morning.

Great location in Barrio Escalante, the Hipster district of San Jose with many great restaurants and a farmers Market on Saturdays basically next door. The hotel was decorated beautifully with traditional Costa Rican masks and the rooms were clean and spacy. The breakfast was exceptional with Omelettes freshly made and fresh fruit, even pancakes with different toppings. Wow!!!
It was pretty loud, we could not sleep because at night a group of people arrived and they were really loud, in the morning it started at 5 already with the people leaving and waking up. Also there was no hot water in the shower, which was not a huge deal for us but it could be for some.

Huge bed, nice breakfast buffet, nice garden
not very soundproof but was ok

the breakfast was good, the location was quiet. the front desk staff was somewhat helpful. the decoration in the hallways was cute.
inside the rooms, everything felt dated. the location is in a dead part of town, everything was closed with no one on the streets & it didn’t feel safe to walk around. the restaurant next door was also closed. the bathroom was not clean. there was no shower curtain and no bath mat, so the entire bathroom gets wet and slippery any time the shower is used. also, the shower didn’t drain at all which was pretty gross. the room was very noisy with no sound proofing at all & people walking/talking in the hallway at all hours (our room was unfortunately right next to the front desk).

The location of the hotel is great, close to downtown and there are many nice restaurants within walking distance. The staff there are friendly, the decorations of the public areas are unique, definitely has its own personality.
The room we stayed in was disappointing. It looked different from the website photos, everything looked kinda old. The water was not hot enough for shower and there was no hot water from the sink tap. The drainage wasn't working properly so it floods every time when we shower. The toilet paper was the thinnest toilet paper I've ever seen. Also the sound isolation was definitely not ideal. I was woken up at 6:30 am because of some hammering sound and kids running and yelling outside. It was the last hotel we stayed in before leaving Costa Rica, so we felt a bit disappointed ending our trip that way.

Lovely hotel with a great location for walking to central San Jose and to the trendy restaurant and bar neighbourhood Barrio Escalante. The hotel consists of lots of buildings joined together giving it a lovely charming quality, which is served by excellent staff all round. The great breakfast is served in a lovely setting, out on a terrace surrounded by a lovely garden with lots of local wildlife. -For the price it was very very fair.
The only thing i’d say is the rooms need a bit of spruce up, I found quite a few Moth larvae crawling around, and a few of the fittings were a bit shoddy - but nothing a good clean couldn’t sort

Lovely breakfast in a nice location with good service.

the staff was willing to out of their way for you, very nice and approachable. location was pretty good
my room faced the main entrance so it was loud in the mornings

my room didn't have any windows except one that had curtains. If you drew the curtains back you were looking directly into a cafe.....and people in the cafe would look into your room.Quite odd.And if they have patrons then you will be kept up for hours with the noise as I was.The owners have tried to retrofit some old houses and its a all a bit of a mismatch.

The decorations and paintings made it truly a unique hotel experience. The staff were friendly and courteous. The breakfast options were plentiful in a beautiful open courtyard setting.
The bathroom seemed a little dated and could have been cleaner.
