Place is a gem I must say. The guy welcomed us and took us around to see valuables he kept. Impressed.
Booked for bed and breakfast, shocked to be told breakfast was R80pp on arrival ...then asked to make arrangements for breakfast elsewhere. Disappointing. We booked the venue because it was nearer the Wedding venue (The Oakfield). We were left alone , we checked out, no one was there. We only saw Shaun or the workers only on arrival on Saturday...thats it. Not hospitable.

I loved everything about the place. I even extended my stay. The owner is an antiquarian, he collects, deals in, or studies antiques, ancient works of art, or ancient times. Work of art, pieces of furniture, or decorative objects made at an earlier period. each bedroom has a meaning I slept in the sewing room which has a collection of different sewing machines and the bell room which is full of ancient telephones. The pets are also very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay and breakfast was amazing, I am a vegetarian and I was catered for.

I liked the museum pieces on exhibit; bed was comfortable; the host, Sean, was hospitable.

Lovely memorabilia, the bedroom we had was ok the bed was the worst ever🙈 it really needs to be replaced it had seen better days we couldn't sleep and left early the next morning. We had our own allocated bathroom but when we returned from our function it was used by other guests 😔 we were also locked out by the other guests. Unfortunately not the best stay we've had. The swimming pool was also green.

Was hell of a lot of fun meeting the curator. Has a wealth of knowledge and was great stepping back in time. Still want to ride the train!
I convinced myself that my room was haunted, this was my issue and not the facility

It was a fantastic experience staying at "A night at the museum". The owner went above and beyond to show us his amazing place. A look into the history of film, sound and photography. And the food was delicious. Thank you so much!
The shower didn't drain well, but other than that I would recommend this b&b to anyone.

Advertised as Pet Friendly. I am a pet courier which is why I chose it. I travelled with 2 small puppies and after a 6 hour drive I could not let the pups out. There were at least 5 large resident dogs and no space to let my pups out. I had to leave and find another place.

Cosy and comfortable
Beautiful garden setting
Be sure to make extra time to see all the antiques

I love rustic and antique, so there was a lot of eye candy. There are so many interesting items and rustic elements it was a pity that it was only overnight. I must admit that I even snuck into the other guest rooms to take a peek at what goodies were in each room. Even my 2 month old granddaughter was absorbing all the colours and textures. She seemed to particularly like the areas with the thatch ceilings. I am definitely considering sneaking off there with hubby again, but for a longer stay.
I did not like the sink full of dirty mugs, and the room where my daughter stayed - with the sunken bed needs a handrail by the steps, I slid and fell because the carpet and my pantihose created a slippery combination

Friendliness with a personal touch, The owner Sean really put in an effort to chat with his guests, very nice of him. well done Sean.
The room I occupied definitely needs a proper door that can be locked instead of having to lock the interlinked doors from the kitchen side to the Bar. that would be peace of mind and a bit more privacy.
