Arrive - relax - enjoy and you will never go back home.

Rosa and her mother Ana made us feel like we were visiting the family. The house is so cosy and the breakfast was prepared with love and was very varied. In a well-located and tasteful atmosphere, we quickly got into a relaxed state and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. And -we had a great time by the pool. All in all, we had a fantastic time. The Volidiera Guesthouse is highly recommended.

The possibility to drink a cocktail or get a bottle of wine in the evening would be a good addition to the otherwise perfect guesthouse.

It feels like a mansion from the past, kind of the ones you see in movies. It’s really quiet as it’s surrounded by trees and it’s only 8 minutes drive from Lixouri, which means you’re close to everything you might need. Everything is well organised so by the owners so we didn’t have to look for them and ask for anything. The cleanliness and the many different plants around the property shows how much they care about their guests and the do everything with love. The breakfast was different every day so everyone can be pleased. I would definitely stay again.

Not as advertised, a facade and highly unprofessional owners

- [ ] Attention! It is not as advertised. There are a number of problems not detected in photos or guest reviews: 1) We were allocated to a room literally one meter away from the reception on the ground floor and given that there was no soundproofing at all in the building, you could hear every small noice or talking from the lounge from very early in the morning till late at night and, vice versa, everybody could hear you, even when using the toilet. 2) We love the cats on the premises but we definitely don’t like finding cat hair in the bread spread at breakfast. It is perfectly fine to have pets in a guesthouse, as long as you keep extra levels of cleanliness which the owners did not (e.g. as natural as it is to find a cat eating a dead mouse in the terrace in front of our room it is also a matter of hygiene for the owners to remove it asap). Basically you have to live among cats and if someone is allergic or pregnant or merely does not feel comfortable this is an issue of which they have not been warned. 3) The sheets were synthetic and when we kindly asked to change them with cotton ones we were lied at that they were not synthetic and then faced with anger and rudeness, as if we were being capricious; 4) An awful smell from the drainage was coming in waves in the room, making it hard to relax and enjoy the holiday; 5) A book shelf fell on my head in the room because it was not screwed well on the wall and when I mentioned it to the owner she didn’t apologize and again felt as if I did something wrong. - [ ] We are sure Rosalia is a nice person but she and her mother are highly unprofessional and not fit for the job of hospitality. The whole place is a facade, looks nice pictures but nothing like it in reality.

Overall we were all very happy and had a wonderful stay.

The setting was perfect, peaceful, relaxing, not too far away from anywhere but not too close either. The whole hotel was very clean. The breakfast was great with lovely home cooked food. Rosalia was a wonderful host.

Almost nothing, only it would be nice to have easier access to glasses for water or other drinks after breakfast time.

Serene and eclectic! This place makes you feel special.

This is a family run guest house, it is like being at home. You couldn't wish for a more peaceful place to have a break. Surrounded by gardens you are able to choose a good breakfast from the options on offer, each day you will get eggs in a different way, Greek yoghurt and cereal, fruit and plates of savoury or sweet pastries, copious amounts of coffee or tea and fruit juice.

There's really nothing I didn't like.

Amazing accomodation

This accomodation was like vacation on vacation. I have never been in so beautiful, peaceful and amazing accomodation before. The garden, environment, awesome breakfast - every day different types of food, and owners - so nice and friendly. We loved it there 💛❤️. I recommend it with all 20 fingers - also with fingers on my foots :)) 👌

A little paradise in Lixouri

There was nothing not to like. From the welcome on our arrival, to the exquisite room to the hours spent around the pool. If you’re looking for a little peace and tranquillity this is the place for you. Then there is the wonderful breakfast with daily changing specials and lots of homemade jams etc.. Rosie and her mum Anna are the perfect hosts and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

An absolute pleasure with beautiful location and building with amazing, family-run staff

The breakfast was exceptional and all homemade. Really fantastic feeling of local Greece. Staff were friendly and a delight to be around. The rooms were very quaint and the hotel itself was beautiful.

A 10 min drive from the city - super simple if you had a hire car. Without one you’d have really struggled. Otherwise perfect as a location if you’re looking for quiet and local. Not for people looking for a busy or lively location.

Superb

Volidiera Guesthouse has its very own charm. With the garden and the pool it has felt like a little oasis to me. I liked about this place that it is a family run hotel with very warm hosts.

The family run guesthouse is a real diamond of the island.

Every morning you are treated to a different spread of tasty healthy and nutritious food catering for many palates. Coffee, Tea and Fruit juice. They have their own garden and chickens for the morning eggs. which could be poached, fried, scrambled, boiled or omelette each day is different. You will enjoy eating your breakfast in the garden under large umbrellas. The pool is in a peaceful setting and ideal for relaxing around on the loungers, swimming in the pool is sublime.

We loved our stay at Volidiera Guest House. Everything was excellent from the room to the breakfast and the lovely owners Mrs Rosalia and Mrs Anna. It felt great to be staying at such a lovely place, very quiet with all amenities but also very close to Lixouri.

The breakfast was lovely but I would recommend to add a fresh juice or if not possible to add different flavours of juices every 2 days or so. Minor comment but it could upgrade the already great breakfast to excellent!

Cozy & quiet

Probably the best breakfast on the island (or whole Greece!? :-) ) and a quiet Pool in the garden. If you get the chance you should have dinner here! Rozalia made the most delicious food for us.

Maybe that you have to go by car to have dinner.

The perfect getawaay

Rosalia gave us a warm welcome. Breakfast is varied and excellent, though late by our standards (starts at 9 am). The pool, set far from the rooms, is wonderful. We enjoyed the landscaping of the garden very much. I also appreciated having a kettle and cofee/tea in the room. Next time I'll make sure to try dinner too.

I missed having a usable mirror - the one in the bathroom in our ground-floor room was so high as to be useless. The beds also took some getting used to. Wifi is weak.
