We loved our stay at the "Sunshine Cottage" in Salida. They house is lovely with thoughtful decorations and comfortable furniture. The large patio and yard is great to work remotely from or lounge in. Easy walking distance to downtown. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to going back in the future!

This is the second time we stayed in this house. It is a great house that is in a wonderful neighborhood. We stayed in the same place last year and found it just as clean and comfortable as in our previous visit. Acces was easy and we were a 15 minute walk from downtown. We visited in July and while it was very warm during the day the house stayed very comfortable. It has a great patio and we were even visited by a young buck one day.

This property was phenomenal. It was just as it was listed.
It was clean, the location was perfect, walkable to town.
Need to bring your own bikes and water toys.
One note, the shower/bathroom, is downstairs in the basement. There is only one bathroom on the main level. It was not a big deal though.
We saw lots of deer walking around the neighborhood. It was a lovely lovely getaway.

This is by far the best vrbo we have ever stayed at. Often on arrival the house seems less than the photos but here the house was even better. It was so charming and welcoming. We loved it and will def reuse every time we come to Salida. The only suggestion is on the listing mention that one bathroom is downstairs. My husband is handicapped and can't use a clawfoot tub shower. Using stairs is hard within a railing on both sides. But honestly we would have come anyway and made it work. It's just important info to some people.

This property was a great fit for our stay to get ready for our daughter's wedding. We were only about 10 blocks from their house and had room to spend time with them and some friends both inside and out on the deck.
I created all the desserts in the large kitchen and had plenty of space in the refrigerator for everything.
My only disappointment of our stay is that the listing stated air conditioning, but only in 1 bedroom and it was a portable unit with the exhaust mounted in the back bedroom window. Coming from the midwest, air conditioning means throughout the entire house. I should have known it might not be that way in Colorado. The evenings were pretty cool, so opening the windows helped.
Overall it was a great stay.

This was a great place for our family get together. Well stocked, clean, and a
wonderful backyard for the kids and dogs.
Highly recommend.

My husband and I and another couple stayed in this cute cottage while rafting and hiking in Salida. It was conveniently located to all the best restaurants and shopping, and the rafting on the Arkansas was an easy drive away. The cottage was cutely furnished with everything we needed. Beds were super comfy and bathrooms were very nice. Our only complaint was that the AC was only in one bedroom, so the other bedroom tended to get a bit warm, but we were there on a very warm week, so it's usually probably fine. We will definitely book again!

This property was the perfect stay for our wedding weekend. We were very busy the whole weekend - in and out of the home prepping for the wedding and it was so easily accessible. Beautiful backyard and large patio that allowed us to relax with family and also enjoy our morning coffee. Being dog friendly was just a perk!
Can’t give this location enough stars!

It was so nice to have a pet friendly home with a big fenced in yard and still close enough to walk into town.
We had a wonderful stay in the clean home with a spacious and well equipped kitchen.
It’s a 15 minute walk to town, where we enjoyed the restaurants, shops, drinks and coffee. It’s a quiet street and the beds were comfortable too!
Thanks for being great hosts!

The house is very nice. It was very clean upon our arrival. Since we travel to Salida often, it was important to have a house where we could walk to various places like restaurants. The outside seating was a great place to get some warmth from the sun. The kitchen was well equipped which is important to us since we like to cook. The laundry room was much appreciated and well equipped also. The beds were very comfortable. The only negative point was having to go through the main floor bathroom as a passage way to the other bedroom and bathroom. The second bath is down in basement/lower floor which might be hard for someone with a disability. Bathroom linens were plush and clean. Our dog really enjoyed the backyard, but there are dogs next door so we kept him on a leash. All in all, we would stay here again.

It was the perfect place for our time together. A short walk to Main Street for shopping, eating and Ghost tour, soaking at My. Princeton & a drive up Monarch Pass to see the glistening golden aspens & cottonwoods.

This is the third time we've stayed here at the Sunflower Cottage and it never disappoints in its overall comfort and spaciousness.

We’ve traveled to Salida 7 times, always staying somewhere new. We will be back next summer and have already booked this location for that future trip. Location, cleanliness, layout, outdoor space, comfort - this place had it all.

Sunflower Cottage has been remodeled with high quality workmanship and an eye for historic design. The beds were comfortable, shower relaxing and the yard beautifully maintained. We had every convenience and more. The kitchen is easy to cook in for a crowd, if needed. It's about 10-12 blocks from downtown on a quiet shaded street with two lovely outside decks. We hope we can spend time there again!

We enjoyed our stay. Great location, clean house, safe neighborhood. The access to the second bedroom is through the front bedroom or through the pass through bathroom. That was fine for our family, but something to know for a different dynamic. The house has a lot of character. We would stay here again.

We had a great stay over the 4th of July. The house had everything we needed. We had a great bbq on the back deck and our sweet senior dog loved the yard. We walked downtown for dinner a few times and loved the location and the neighborhood. Lovely house!

We had a Girls Weekend and were delighted to find out that FIBARK was occurring the same weekend. The house was comfortable, clean and the location was quiet and peaceful. We were able to walk to all FIBARK events that we wanted to attend and made some really good memories ! We would definitely stay here again.

Could not have wished for a better location or well stocked wonderful home! Salida is such an amazing town, and we had an amazing ski trip to Monarch! We will definitely book again!

The cottage was extremely clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The downstairs bathroom is quite new and the shower had great water pressure, both of which were unexpected in an older house. We loved the convenience of the short walk into town. The owners were very easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Highly recommended!

As most, if not all, of the past reviews have stated, this place was so clean!!! The sheets and towels smelled great!!!! The location is perfect to walk downtown. The kitchen is well stocked. The second bathroom is downstairs but not an inconvenience at all! I would not hesitate to stay here again next time we visit Salida. An added plus for those bringing their dogs: the backyard is large and fenced in. :-)

Charming cottage, beautifully renovated and equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need. We had a wonderful stay. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. Everything was perfect!

We loved the property and the beautiful backyard and deck. The yard was bigger than I thought it would be in the neighborhood it was quiet.

This house is so nice. The pictures don’t do it justice. It is oozing with charm. The hosts thought of everything as far as amenities—and everything is quality from towels and linens to hand soaps at every sink, shower soaps, etc. The backyard was wonderful for both our dog and us to enjoy. The flow of the floor plan is a little quirky, but we all loved that about it—it’s what you get with an old remodeled house. So much character. Proximity to downtown and the river was great. We walked and biked everywhere. It was just completely enjoyable.

Property was terrific. Very clean and well appointed. We particularly appreciated that there was a BBQ which was not on the listing. Communication with the property manager wasn't even needed as instructions were clear and concise. Would be happy to stay again. Thanks!!
