Very outdated!! Old kitchen utensils and no coffee pot!!
Upstairs bath/shower would not work (??pipes frozen, no water). requested late checkout (only had one shower so needed more time) or partial refund but was told they could not do! Would not stay there again!!

The place is very good located, just 3 min to the place ski resort you can even walk. We had some cleaning issues but “VACASA” and the property manager responded quick and came to solve most of it. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen have everything you will need. Smart tvs in almost every room. This is my 4th time coming to the mountain and this is one of the best I’ve stayed

We are staying in this property for the second time. It is clean and comfortable, and has everything one needs. The major attraction is location - you can walk to slopes. This year there were lots of people, and finding parking was a real issue. So it was nice to avoid that!

We had a great weekend skiing and hanging out. The house is great, beds comfy, heater works AMAZING, fully equipped kitchen, easy walk to the slopes. Would definitely stay again.

Nice condo- low on the mountain with little to no view, tiny deck and living area. otherwise nice bedrooms and bathrooms. We’ll equipped

The location was good, great amount of space for a group of people. However from the moment I booked I was sent so many different emails from Vacasa and other people on behalf of Vacasa. None of these emails actually contained check in info and when arriving after a 3 hour drive we had to phone the 24/7 number to get the code to get into the door. It also wasn’t clear which number was our place as there was two next to each other and no number on the door. The place was not clean, kitchen utensils and plates had pieces of food on them. The bed had stains and hair on the sheets. We were only given half a roll of toilet paper between 2 bathrooms. We reported this to the 24/7 number and was told it would be passed on, but it was not rectified.

We stayed at this condo just before Christmas and it was perfect for 2 couples and our young kids. We could have even had room for one more couple. The kids enjoyed playing in the cute loft. The beds were super comfy. The linens were nice and the kitchen had all the essentials. The house has lots of nice tech extras and great WiFi. Lovely patio and the perfect outdoor closet for storing skies and boots. Love the proximity to the ski resort as well as added attractions in the area like tubing and the alpine rollercoaster. My 6 year old son said this was the best trip of his life! We hope to visit again!

The property is old and not kept up. The mildew/mold smell is overpowering. It was so bad we had to leave and could not spend the second night there. Sheets and beds were clean but not the bedspreads or the throw carpets in the bathrooms.
I had to clean the porch before it could be used. Not fun!

We loved our stay at this property. It was very close to the ski resort and at the end of the day, it was a great place to cook dinner and relax. Due to Covid, we mostly ate in and the open floor plan was nice. We did have one question while we were there and the property company responded to us right away. Check in and check out was super easy. Overall, it was a wonderful place to get away from it all.

It was the worst experience I had ever encountered renting a VRBO. It should definitely be taken off the website. Such an uncomfortable stay and waste of money!

Loved the layout of the condo, and the value we got with everybody having their own room. The main room-kitchen was perfect for us, as was the beautiful porch. The location could not have been better for a few days of hiking in the mountains, and the people we met there were great too. The only complaint I have is the mattress hurt my back, and others in my group said the same. Also we went in mid-August and were worried about not having AC, but its cool up in those mountains, and we opened the windows and had no complaints about that.

This was a fabulous rental. There are four bedrooms, one is a loft on the third floor, so we had even more space than we thought. The condo has everything you could need - like a pancake griddle! The recliners and couch in the living room are unbelievably comfy. The WiFi was fantastic - even with 7 of us using it (with multiple devices each...). Sugar Mountain is a great resort with a lot going on. And there’s a huge Food Lion six minutes away!!!

Horrible cleaning
The house stunk, pee stains on the mattress pad food stuck in microwave stuff stuck in freezer hair in showers.. tried reporting the problems and received an email back 2 days later saying the problems were being sent to the manager and still haven’t heard back

Very well-kept & supplied condo near the slopes
The condo was in excellent condition. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. Furniture was all comfortable, and the gas fire and baseboard heaters kept us nice & warm.
Skiing is a 5-minute walk but is relatively easy to access. The bridge that crosses the creek will put you out right at the bottom of Easy Street.
You have to drive down two fairly steep hills to get to the condo, so probably want 4WD or chains during winter. The parking lot did get salted, so it wasn’t icy when we left, but it could have been very difficult to get out of otherwise.
Overall, this was a great place to stay, and we look forward to returning. The house was full of little extras (games, high chair, and even fire escape ladders under the upstairs beds). Unlike many rentals at Sugar that are clearly just intended for renting out to skiers and getting as many people in as possible, this one was actually liveable.

Very good resort
It’s very good resort which met most of our expectations, location, size, cleanness, and etc. The service response is very quick and proactive. The only thing which is not very satisfied is they don’t provide some of the normal kitchen supplies, like food wrap film, napkins. So better to bring all you need if you would stay for several days and like cooking by yourself.

A memorable stay
The accommodation was clean and quite comfortable. It was a special getaway for our family. The boys were thrilled to sleep in the loft with plenty of more rooms to spare. Thank you for letting us stay at your cozy lodge!

Beautiful surroundings. Cabin could use updates
The location of this cabin could not have been better. It is truly right around the corner from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. So much so that the homes at the end of the parking lot overlook the bunny slope with a trail that leads down to foot bridges that go over to the resort. We experienced a couple of days of heavy rain and then two days of snow and cold. If you're going to be there in snowy weather, you REALLY DO NEED 4 wheel drive or snow chains. We had to wait til the parking lot thawed out to be able to get up the hills at the end of the driveway and out onto the main road. The main road was well cleared and no problem at all.
The cabin itself was comfortable with two king beds, one queen bed, and a loft with two single beds. The challenges were that both of the bathrooms are very small - single sinks and old style showers with sliding glass doors. The kitchen was also very small. We had 4 adults and 4 kids. The kitchen table only seats 6 and it is IN the kitchen. The den will only seat 5 comfortably between two couches. The stairs down from the parking lot can be slippery when wet or snowy. And the parking lot only has one official parking space per cabin. We had two cars and were fortunate that all the cabins weren't rented and there was space to squeeze in our other car without making anyone mad.
Overall, the cabin was great as a place to sleep and eat, but if you're looking for anything luxury this probably isn't the place. All of the decor, wallpaper, and furnishings are 90's ish though very comfortable and relaxed. We really enjoyed our stay in Sugar Mountain, and our time in the cabin was really fun.
If you're staying in Sugar Mountain or Banner Elk, be sure to eat at the Painted Fish restaurant. We went twice and it was delicious, well priced for a resort town, and casual enough for our little kids. Enjoy!

Hemlock Nob F35
My family and had a great time at Sugar Mountain and enjoyed our stay at Hemlock Nob F35. The cabins/apartments at Hemlock are perfectly situated, leaving walking distance from the ski slopes, Ice Skating and Tubing. The unit was well kept and kept us warm and comfy during those cold winter nights. Would highly recommend staying here.

A great place to stay
The house is very convenient and is located right at the slopes. It had everything we needed: three bedrooms and an attic with two beds that our kids loved. Location is hard to beat - it is an easy and beautiful 10 minute walk to the resort. We thought that we were unlucky with the weather given temperature in the 60s, but amazingly the skiing was fairly decent most of the time, only got messy in later afternoon. The resort even has very reasonable child care that our three year old enjoyed. There are only two things that could have been better: one, the internet connection has been spotty. It was a bit slow and tended to disconnect all the time. Also, we were only given a code for the door electronic lock, but on arrival discovered that the door is locked by the key lock as well. The key was in the lock box near the door but we were not given a code to it. This is not the most pleasant discovery after 3+ hour trip with tired kids! Also the contact phone was not easy to find, one has to dig on the internet (and at the first number that came up nobody answered the phone). All this led to a half an hour mad scramble that could have been easily avoided.
Make sure you ask the management for all the codes in advance!

August stay
Unit was clean and well layed out. 3 spacious bedrooms with one on the main level. Beds very comfortable. Two extra beds up in loft area. Location is very central to the main attractions in the area. Plenty of eating options. Deck and view were not great but did see some deer roaming the area.
